prepaid?
Prepaid has shown an enormous boon in subscribers. While it doesn't come close to post paid, it has proved to be far more popular than ever before.
I think the interesting thing about this explosion, is the rise in choice of devices for prepaid. I can buy a Blackberry for 200 dollars without a contract that would probably cost me 150- 250 dollars more to buy it straight out through the carriers.

All you need to do is look at Metro's number released today. Sweet holy moly! People are starting to realize the value of not being locked in. I don't see this changing anytime soon.

Prepaid is fine so long as you stay within the coverage area. Roaming isn't usually included and some don't even offer it.

Most individuals that purchase Prepaid, are not looking for roaming. They are generally nesters. I would also argue that many that buy post paid do not require roaming either. They simply buy for the family savings plans and/or data offerings.

I would say that those who use prepaid feel that they would rather keep their money than pay the fees, overages, and related that the post paid demands. Most prepaid users want dependable phones and service at a reasonable rate. They really do not need the so called "glamor and status" that some feel the latest release brings. Plus if you are partnered with companies like Verizon roaming is not an issue.
