Distracted Driving

I am sure that every state already has distracted driving laws on the books. Here is an idea: Instead of wasting man hours and tax payer dollars on unnecessary, redundant legislation, let's find something constructive for these bureaucrats to do. Obviously the ones who came up with this idea don't have enough work.

yep, the words "distracted driving" cover a whole lot of things, including txtg.

P.S. Azeron: I'm getting extremely impatient with my phone. And wish an Android smartphone OTHER THAN the stupid-acc Backflip would come out on ATT

I agree wit u Azeron, plus how are they going to actually prove that you were texting, there are lots of other things that u can do wit your phone when the phone is in your hand other than texting (i.e. dialing a number, going through phone book, using it as your mp3 player) so its a "good idea" thats not well thought out. Plus there are 1000's of distractions that can come during driving that they dont even look at, hell even sneezing forces you to close your eyes for a fraction of a second, are they going to ban that because it keeps your eyes off the road just like texting and driving can. And I'd be the first to admit that I text and drive all the time and never been close to having an accident (of course i got an advantage from being a ...

It can be proven that the driver was txtg while driving by getting records from the carrier. A train operator was txtg, and the authorities get his phone records to find out that he was indeed txtg during the train wreck.

granted after the fact but i was more referring to being pulled over bc a cop believes u were textin. Even if u werent textin its a big hassle to go through being pulled over and everything and it wont be possible to pull records for texting during a traffic stop without a warrant which is a hassle just for a traffic ticket. Thats more for after an accident which texting is suspected

Distracted driving should broaden its scope to include people that are caught fapping while looking at inappropriate content. Both hands on the wheel!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤣
