Adobe Flash has no place on mobile devices (or anywhere, really.)

Quoting from the "Adobe UI Gripes" tumblr:

"About six months ago, a friend who was working closely along side adobe’s flash application development team told me that they received a prototype of Flash for iPhone. The prototype allowed the iPhone to have less than half an hour of battery life using flash. They then sent the prototype to apple and suggested incorporating this prototype iPhone flash into the iPhone OS in the next update.

Apparently apple sent this letter back thanking them for being interested in developing a working version of flash for the iphone but because the prototype is so processor intensive, and awful for battery life, they would not includ...

Nice Apple story there.
Flash is going to be going on everything in the future and prototypes are just that...prototypes. Besides, with RIM products you can carry an extra few batteries around to handle the 1/2 battery life thing now anyway 🤣

As much as I hate Adobe, I am sure they will figure out how to at least get a couple of minutes more out of the batteries by the time they release it 😁

All those nice fade and slide effects that are herky jerky on normal phones, yet run perfectly smooth on the iPhone (which is less powerful in hardware mind you), are from the use of the CPU drawing the graphic effects instead of using the GPU (which is actually very powerful on phones) and its own built-in 3D rendering!

Case in point, Touch-FLO 3D vs. normal Windows screens. You can see a huge difference in performance between the two. LG Versa, with its 3D desktop. Only reason the Droid doesn't feel too herky jerky is because of the fast CPU.

But seriously, offloading those thing...
