Hey Eric, or whomever can answer this question. What exactly does it mean when you say "European markets"?

What I mean is, who "COULD" use this phone? I see its GSM so my guess is any SIM card service provider type. Is it really that broad a term? When you say "European markets" does it simply come down to CDMA or GSM? or is there a particular service provider that may or may not be able to provide service to these devices?

We are more detailed when it comes to America... as in "This phone is coming to AT&T/Verizon/Sprint/and/or T-Mobile" but with European phones you just say "European markets".

Right, so basically when they say European market they don't mean any provider in general. It comes down to CDMA or GSM? Thats what I thought, I just wanted to be clear.

LMAO! I want a N97 TOO! Awww man. I would really like to play with one though before I went out and spent the money based on specs and hype.

There is an 850/1900mhz version of the N97 that will work on ATT's 3G network. You can get it on amazon's website. Frinkin $600 though.

Since all of Europe is on the same standard then this would mean 900/1800mZh frequencies for GSM whereas U.S. GSM carriers use 850/1900mZh. So I would infer that this device or a so-called "European" device would not work in the U.S as it would not have 850/1900mZh radios included.
