After considering a number of factors including rising costs for paper, printing, and postage, as well as environmental impacts associated with printing paper bills, T-Mobile has started to charge customers who would like to receive a paper bill. The charge does not directly reflect our costs of printing and distributing bills. The company has provided alternative options for our customers to receive the information on their bills and continues to promote paperless billing as a "free" option (www.my.t-mobile.com or www.t-mobile.com/billingupdate)

Beginning with August bills, current T-Mobile customers will receive notification that provides them with instructions on how to "opt out" of the paper bill charge by receiving a paperless, elect...

Certainly one of the least customer friendly things I've seen in a while. I really do miss the competitive world pre-mergers.

They'd have to pay me to step foot in there. Don't get me wrong... I use T-Mobile service for the price, but my SIM card always goes into unlocked phones... not T-Mo's crapperware phones.

Its really not that big of deal at all. Especially when its an opt out charge. It saves paper and for those fwho dont have an internet connection can use the #***# features, or make a toll free call to customer care to analyze their bill. Plus, T Mobile nickel and dimes the least out of the fantastic 4.

No big deal? How about a change in terms of service? I assume they'll be letting customers out of their contracts over this.

Its not free paper bills, billing is part of a service, it has been the business model for many industries for generations.

We didn't allow anyone out of their contract for the 1.99 detailed billing charge. Why would we do it for this one? Yea, I work for T-Mobile.

are you smoking crack? not that big of a deal? they're charging you something extra to get your damn bill!! a bill!!! and you dont find anything wrong with that?? dont be a tool, we shouldn't excuse these companies acts, they're bleeding people dry any which way they can, your pockets might be fat because you're the beneficiary of wealthy parents in a quiet suburb but not everyone thinks its not a big deal. tax for air is $6 out of your paycheck...its only $6 right? 🤨

Technically No. It should not be a big deal. But realistically? It could be. Companies generally equate their expenses into the operations of offering services to consumers. Billing subscribers for wireless services is what these carriers do. This is common practice and should be considered. Now they want to hold the subs accountable for extra service that has always been included with wireless service. For many T-mo subs, This could be a big deal.

Yeah you guys are right ATT and Verizon don't charge for the paper bills, that's because they charge you more for everything else. Compare like bills and you will still save hundreds of dollars every year and have a much better network and much better customer care with T-Mobile. Try reaching outide the box every once in a while and live on the edge. Don't be a bunch of haters. 🤣

i'm waiting for the carriers to start assessing a charging fee every time you charge your cell phone.

Friday I was talking to a customer, and trying to justify the extra fees that he sees on his bill each month, because I obviously can't agree with him, I'd lose my job.

Paying for a paper bill or paying extra for detailed billing, or paying an upgrade fee and all the other more or less bogus fees, is part of what turns consumers off. I think all the carriers should price their plans and features to cover all the "processing costs" and "operating costs" instead of adding crap fees that anger customers and create a higher rate of churn.

If they altered their plans to accomedidate the upgrade/activation fees, and all the other little fees the plans would go up easily another $10-15 and customers would still be mad. Customers act as though a cell phone is one of the items they need to live day to day, the heck with rising food and water prices lets complain about cellphones. No one needs a cellphone they just want it, think what use to happen before cellphones

Well, makes no sense, I don't see Safeway, Publix, Shop Rite or any other supermarket charging you for a paper receipt as you leave. Being needed or wanted has nothing to do with it, many of the items we use are not needed but wants. Atleast a mobile phone has some ...

Publix does not have an alternate to recieve a receipt by email, so they don't have an option.

The cost of a grocery receipt is also much less than a multi-page phone bill plus postage. Also, the grocery clerk is already there, even if you don't want a receipt, while a wireless carrier has to employ (or contract out) a whole shipping/printing operation for this primitive crap.

I used to work at CompUSA, and I can assure you that the length of their receipts would allow their receipts to rival the size of a summarized phone bill. XD

this i actually agree i just received my bill and saw the extra charge for me to get a paper bill. i don't get a detailed bill i just get the 3 pgs of nothing repeating nothing but at least i have a receipt in my hand. computers are great but at the same factor they aren't a guarantee. all kinds of things can go wrong w/computers or even when i mail my check back in. i don't know who is on the other side that might take advantage of me at any point and time.
i just told my cousin the other day how much i loved t-mobile better than at&t but now i don't know.
i know it's only $1.50 but it adds up. whatever happened to customer loyalty. i guess it means nothing these days.

they always find some other ways to charged the consumers.
Like for example the
Regulatory Programs Fee for $1.21.
It says in the statement that

* Fee we collect and retain to help cover our costs related to funding and complying w/ government mandates, programs and obligations.

Is this really necessary that the consumers will pay for this Regulatory Programs Fee?
This is not much, but for heaven sake why consumers need to pay for it!

Why should we cover there cost dealing w/ the government, is there business and they should pay of what the government required not the consumer.
They already over charged us for $0.45 a minute if we run out of minutes, and if we dont use the minutes we lost it..
They should roll it over like...

I'm being charged just to be... charged. This is crazy. Not that it affects me, but if it was my mom or grandma, they'd be hit with an additional charge just so that they can get a bill!

Eh... I can go either way though. If a little charge like that helps keeps my bill down, then so be it.
