This was a few bad apples within a good company. Every company has them and you know what I'm talking about. People that just scream trouble. Unfortunately, these people give the whole company a bad name. I DONT think this was ATT. Att as a whole I feel has very good and moral core values that they try to instill in all of their employees from corporate levels down to the agent stores. I have worked for them for a year and I have never once got the feeling that are a "money craving, greedy, screw the customer" kind of company. Now, with that being said, the reason we are in business is to MAKE MONEY. You don't become one of the biggest companies by giving **** away. You help the customer in every way you possibly can, yes absolutly, but you ...

Im sorry that you get under paid for what you do. I really am. I dont if this is happeing to you, but AT&T is cutting back on how much money you get when you sell a phone (i went blank on what its called) They are telling there wokers if you want more money, sell data. Someone was talking about it in one of these things, but my friend who works in an AT&T store was also telling me...

And Verizon is good when it comes to breaking phones. Usually if it was a tech problem in the phones, most phones have a one year warranty thew the phone maker, so you can get a new one at Verizon, but if it was water damange, or a phone break, you can pay $50.00 for a new one insted of buying one for a lot of money.

O yea, and if and people who have Veriz...

First, I get paid very well for what I do, not including my commission.

Second, Att also offers a one year warranty for all of thier phones too. Water damage is a different story.

Third, Att.com has those exact same deals on phones and accessories.

Fourth, Att also offers tons of discounts for armed services and a lot of other companies as well.

Don't act like verizon is the only company out there that offers these things. Different cell companies work better for different people. It depends on the area you live in. Don't bring your ignorance in here and attack me and what I do because you think you have a clue about this industry.

haha, i never said AT&T didnt have them, my dad was on AT&Ts goverment plan, but it was only 15%, Verizon gives bigger discounts.

And AT&Ts CEO Ralph what ever is stupid. He has really made AT&T in to crap. Cingular CEO was so musch better. It sucks he step down, but AT&T really screwed up when they let this Ralph dude become CEO.

I liked Cingular, then AT&T came in and it went to crap.

A LOT of people have said AT&T service has gone down a lot. People say a lot that Cingular service was awesome, AT&T has gone down. Where people would get full service, its now 2 -3 bars.

Why don't i have AT&T anymore? They SHUT our service due to "Excessive Partner Usage"... Roaming. We lived in that area for over a year, then AT&T sends us a me...

It's a bit technical, but there are two frequencies that phones work on in the US. Both the regular voice service and the 3G service use the same frequencies. One frequency is better than the other. In some areas of the country legacy GSM phones use one frequency and 3G phones use the other frequency (guess which)

As for the roaming bit, your usage basically got to the point that over a 3 month average over 40% of your usage was while roaming, it's in the contract if you ever bothered to read it. AT&T is in the business of making a profit, and permitting roaming is expensive for the company to provide. This is nothing new or exclusive to AT&T, I've worked for two cell companies and have coworkers who have been with all the major comp...

umm.. i know that is say you must use around 50% or so of Calls, Data, Texting, ect. on AT&Ts network.

My dad was in North Dakota, i think we were using Cell One or something up there, but you can't really tell sense AT&T cuts the Roaming icon off (in GSM it would tell the network your on), we never got a letter in the mail from Cingular about it, but after a year and 4 months of bein gup there AT&T shut our service off.

Verizon has Romaing. ALL networks have Roaming. But Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile dont say if your in an area of Roaming too long we will shut your service off.

Lots of People live in Alaska use Verizon on Extended Network. There is even 3G Extended Network. That will prob be one of the next networks Verizon will buy.

Yeah, I really hated it when Cingular stopped displaying roaming and AT&T kept that decision. I've had many more people calling in disputing the roaming since then. IMHO if people knew WHEN they were roaming they would be more careful and not inadvertently get themselves into a pickle. But who am I, the lowly CSR, to have a voice in policy? I am sorry to hear that your service was shut off without a letter, you could have disputed it on those grounds as a (minimum) 30 day notification that you receive is required. I used to be on the cancellation team when it was still Cingular and notifications were supposed to start 3 months before involuntary termination at that time. At least we got to waive the ETF though, so while inconvenient to...

Cingular seemed to be a very good network. I miss the CEO of Cingular.

But Verizon doesnt shut service off for Roaming. You can call them and everything. Roaming is free and unlimited in there service contract. Lots of people with Verizon use there service in Roaming areas all the time, and if you move to an area, you can still upgrade and change address to the area and not worry about service being shut off.
