Are you a rep?

If so, do you argue with a customer when they say another carrier has better service in their home? Afterwords, do you ensure them that with the money Sprint has spent in that area that there is no possible way some other carrier can out-perform them?

just wondering.

No I'm not a rep. I'm sure your talking about voice coverage. Well I won't argue with a customer if I was. I would explain the technologies and make them aware of the pros and cons of GSM and CDMA. Everyone is aware that the quality of CDMA is much better than that of GSM.

The quality of CDMA - just like GSM - varies depending on where you are. Sure, CDMA is theoretically better, but if you're in an area where GSM has better coverage then that theory really doesn't matter much.

Most people use their cell phones at home, at work, and in the space between. Worldwide or nationwide coverage is pretty irrelevant - local superiority is all that matters.

I'm in an area where both are strong, and frankly I think the device you're using has more of an effect on call quality than the network.

Everyone is aware of the story of Noah's Ark, but that MYTH can't be proven either. The fact is that most industry insiders(and no I don't mean guys like you in the CSR dept) all agree that the main advantage of GSM is VOICE QUALITY and cost of the equipment. The main advantage of CDMA is CAPACITY and speed. So go peddle your snake oil somewhere else.
