It's even worse in CA, on top of paying high tax on the bill we also pay tax on the full retail price of a handset not tax on the 2yr discounted price... regulation 1585, tsk tsk.

Word, California's "tax on full retail" law is R-E-T-A-R-D-E-D.

Taxes in general are retarded as well. The fewer, the better.

Should children starve because the government is taking all the food money from single mothers?

That's INCREDIBLE 🙂
So if a store is having a 2-for-1 after Xmas sale, do you in CA have to paid taxes on the full retail (before sale prices) ?

I gather you are saying that it is for cell phones only, but I'm surprise no carrier has challenged it in court... very discriminatory towards the wireless market -- completely without principle...

It is in effect double taxation, since the subsidized pricing (the subsidy) is recouped over the 2 year contract, which is of course also taxed hugely.

Wait, aren't you the guy who gets all his Sprint service for free? (see post regarding Verizon's new text-only plan) They can't tax you if you're not paying anything!
