I'll have to agree with you on the point that sprint is probably the biggest loser in the Customer Service department, but they're starting to change for the better.
My parents have T-mobile for quuite some time (it was named Voice Stream when they started), and they are quite happy with it. I, myself, have Sprint, and continually get made fun of when i'm at home with my parents. The most effective retort is "Why would i want to change service? I like getting service at home."
As for the iPhone:
It's a good phone, don't get me wrong. It really opened up the market to whole new generation of phones. Ultimately, I will say that it isn't the best phone in the world. It's just good at what it was made to be: A full touch-screen, very tiny, Apple product, and as such, it comes with all the benifits of the Mac brand. Unfortunitly, this means that it comes with the usuall downsides of having a Mac: can't open it to fix it yourself, everythings propriatary (round these parts, we say that you have to get the screw driver through Mac if you want to fix your Apple) and there's a major learning curve in order to use it effectivly.
In the end, I must say that the Instinct is giving the iPhone a run for it's money, I don't care what anyone says.
The Instinct doesn't suck, you suck.
