See i think that VW deserves to sued. Think about how many people just add verticals/features on customer accounts just so they can get bonus and SPIFFS....VW was bad at this and so was sprint. VW needs to crack down on these sales people. Dont blame the customer that gets screwed over in the long run...but the nasty sales reps that try to take advantage of naive customers. Not every customer that comes into a store is knowledgeable about everything...thats what the sales rep is for.

For one it's illegal to add features to a customers account if they are not aware of it. So I don't see where you're getting that from.

This is not a carrier practice, so if anything like that ever happend, it was probably the result of a stupid rep.

Two, Sprint gives you the 1st month free to try their features out, and cingular will give you unlimited access for the 1st month when you pick a package.

As a sales person, it's usually safer to tell a customer they will be charged for the features right off the bat, confirm that they're agreeable to paying for them right away. Once they understand they're paying for the features, and they see them on their contract, then you can say "Oh, and they are giving you the features you agreed to pay for, free for a month! Bonus for you!"

They know they are paying for the features they added and they walk away happy knowing they're getting them free for a month. I have not had an issue yet using this technique, just smilin' faces! 😁

Some customers will also sign away on a sales agreement without looking it over to make sure things are setup the way they thought. Features also show up on the bill and you should look that over as well to make sure it is correct. So many people just pass that stuff off for quite some time then complain because they have been paying for a feature for so long they didn't know was there (which really was, if they had looked).
