Don't Dare Over React!

Everyone needs to stop overreacting on this post. Cingular has offered this phone since Nov '04 and this is the first such product advisory. The fact of the matter is, the GSM version of the Razr gets higher RF ratings with Cingular than any other handset with any other major US carrier. Not only that but Cingular, by far, has the best drop call rate in the entire country. So the fact that for a single solitary weekend there wont be any GSM Razr's available that is no reason to declair it another V600. In no way shape or form is this anything like any other MOTO defect. This a simple issue that GSM carriers Cingular and T-mobile are aware of and handling accordingly in partnership with Motorola.

I too live in Florida. Well , all I can say is that we have had one number since it was Cellular One(12 years ago), AT&T and Cingular. I have had more dropped calls with Cingular with any phone I have purchased.

I too would like to see some graphs to prove your point with all carriers. I,ve tried all other carriers at one time or another. Just to let you know, theyall suck sooner or later.

Cellular companies have the second worst customer satisfaction ratings to automobile dealerships nation wide.

So, remember that you are dealing with companies and people rated just as bad as you local car dealership for sevice.

Wait, Cingular does have the best dropped call rate, only one worse than Sprint.

I dropped more calls, and had ****tier service, (let alone customer service), than ANY other carrier that I've ever had personally, or witnessed as a retailer.

I am glad that we're no longer a Cingular agent(locally anyway), and think that everything they offer stinks(plan wise). The fact that they're still carrying Ericsson products, is they only thing they've got going for them. I wish TMO would get off their bungholes and get some Ericssons.

There is an "internal email" sent out about an independent review of their network. If it is true, then that is good for them. But I have yet to see a link pointing to the actual research.

Cingular drops calls in the Boston area like you wouldn't believe. Terrible Service, Terrible Customer Service.

The Razr is a great phone though. Luckily I have it with Verizon so I can actually make a decent call.

As a user with Verizon AND Cingular, who has owned multiple phones (like, 50?) for both, I'll shed some light on this person's comments.

1. I love Cingular, and would say that their network HERE at least is better than Verizon's. HOWEVER, Verizon has the lowest dropped call rate in the industry at 2% national average, which is a fact, look it up. My source is Consumer Reports. Though Cingular's network is definitely better here (and probably in Florida), it is not better in the 18 markets they surveyed, which if I remember correctly Verizon won 17 and T-Mobile won 1.

2. I have had 3 CDMA RAZRs, I took them all back because of numerous issues with each. I had 1 GSM RAZR, which was fabulous. My wife got caught in this as we switche...

is there a handset based way to check rf (off the subject) When I worked for nextel I knew how to but I have no idea fo cingular handsets back on point the cigular network in WI is better where we have it, what I like is at least here they are building out the network better than any of the competitors they seem to at least want to improve the network. also I hope to see a vast improvment soon as they change the att network over to orange and upgrade the tower computers I like the razr good solid phone big oops by moto oh well my sales will suck for a weekend I will get over it

1) According to consumer reports, Volkswagons, Verizon and Kenmore products are always the best. Interesting how CR is owned by Sears and Kenmore is a sears brand.......AND they always recommend discontinued crappy phones for AT&T/Cingular. A little bias perhaps?

2) Check out your USA Today or Wall Street Journal, Cingular ran a full page ad highlighting the fewest dropped calls according to Telephonica (I believe that's the name of the testing company). Notice how no one is suing over false advertising? It's because no one can back the claim that it's not true. Granted, it's very highly geographic, but ON THE AVERAGE, Cingular now has the fewest dropped calls nationwide.

3) According to the Motorola rep I spoke with, the Nokia 61...

🤣 Why are people arguing over service, cell phones, and companies. I've worked in this business for a while, and here is the truth. No "one" cell phone company is great. I work for T-Mobile, which has the best customer service in the industry, but I'll admit, our service is bad. Pay attention to that statement, because that is preety much how every company works. SOmething great, yet something Bad. Cingular may be great in Florida, like Dj so and so said, but in the hills of California it is offtimes bad. That's the way it is. No company can have it all. Technologies work well in some places, yet bad in others. SO PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE GOING WITH ANY COMPANY.
Your friends may hate Cingular, because of their customer...
