Hopefully They Won't Cripple MP3 Functionality the Way VCast Music and Verizon Did...

Currently, all 3 phones for Amp'd are listed as havin' mp3 support. GOOD.

I hope their music download service aint a 'VCast music clone' which will fark wit' mp3 playback the way that VCast does. The 99 cents/download price Amp'd is charging is more reasonable than the competition, so Amp'd may actually have one of most attractive music download services of any of the carriers.. IF they don't frack up the mp3s.

I totally agree, and think it would be a very unwise decision for Amp'd to do what Verizon did. Verizon can get away with stuff--like the crippled bluetooth for one-- because they already have an established customer base. If Amp'd wishes to be successful, they must give more control to the consumer, especially in this crucial phase where they are trying to rack up the customers. Basically, I hope they are wise in taking VZW's good (like the network), minus the bad (like the crippling).

If Amp'd does go the route of giving the customer more control than Verizon does, then I will probably be switching to Amp'd once my Verizon contract is up.

I mean, same coverage/network quality as VZW, plus all the Verizon annoyances (crippled BT, lame Music store) gone?

That would be heaven, cellularly-speaking. 🙂
