What consumers don't think about!

Ok yes companies like Verizon and AT&T are very greedy and consumer unfriendly with their policies. Especially taking away the ability to get reduced pricing prior to the 2 years. Now we all get angry at these companies for doing so. But us consumers never see things through their eyes. How many times are three people you know and the many thousand clients here on phonescoop talk about the many phones they buy in a short period of time. You have no idea how many times I hear about people saying in the last year I owned the IPhone 5, the latest Blackberry, the Samsung Galaxy III and now had to have the 4. Now is there really a need to own all these phones. These kinds of things happened when the discount pricing was a much looser pract...

Well......I don't know that most people who go through a lot of phones get them at a discount...some people (myself included) just like buying phones...

But as far as buying phones and then selling them on EBay....well..after I bought it, it's my property, I can do what I want with it.

Yes, many people do abuse the system.....many people never actually pay for phones at all because whenever they are due for an upgrade they call customer care and pretend to be outraged about something and threaten to cancel, and then watch as customer care offers them all kinds of free stuff to stick around.....

When people say they will cancel while talking to me I call their bluff and I say okay here is your ETF's and ask if they want to pay it. If they say yes I cancel their lines eff immediately that way they can't just call back and have their future dated cancel removed and have to go through a credit check and everything else to get service turned back on. Maybe next time they will think twice about using that threat.

No doubt. I hate it when those same customers just push and push and yap and yap. They talk about what great customers they are and half the time they've had 3,000.00 in adjustments over the past 6 months with three overrides at no cost with no upgrade fees and only two years' tenure or something of that nature. I just want to laugh in their face sometimes as I cancel each line. They probably will reactivate, but knowing that they'll have to run the check and possibly have a deposit just makes me feel warm inside.

I was actually in a really bad mood one day when I had a customer threaten to cancel, and instead of doing the usual back pedal that they expect, I just said 'well...okay I'll get you over to cancellations and they'll get that done for you today'....

Suddenly the customer's tone did a complete 180 😎
