They say it's not technically a pyramid scheme!

Their head dude says they obey all of the laws for multi-level marketing. I'll assume that they do.

Well, just because something is legal does not mean it is not a pyramid scheme in the functional sense (in fact, pyramid schemes are not illegal by their nature, and specific laws have to be written to try to define what is naturally just a bad idea).

So is it? I don't know, but this option looks suspicious:

you do not make money if you sign up somebody and they do not get wireless service. you only make money on the cell service. basically you make $6.66 for each person that gets wireless service.
