I work for AT&T and I whole heartedly agree.... The blocking of the facetime over cellular doesn't make any sense...... Verizon will force you to move your plans, AT&T says it is going to be the good guys and tells you that they are not going to change your plan or make you change, but they work in the fashion of, if you want the latest greatest thing you have to move to one of their new plans, and after you are on it for about a month or so, they grandfather (expire) the old plans, so that you cannot go back to your old plan..... Just like how you can't tether without a special plan.... Definately something I forsee gettting changed, I get at least 4 calls about this a day..... Pretty high number considering I take anywhere from 40 to 50 calls a day...... 10% of which are about facetime over cellular and why they cannot do it.
The mobile share plan works for a small percentage of customers, (to actually save them money)
In all actuality it helps maybe 1 in 4 people I talk to about it. The others in order for it to work effeiceintly would have to get another smartphone.
They are trying to get everyone to move to smartphones with this move.
