Why? Because of the merger. Nextel and Sprint were the only ones to own massive amounts of the 2.3GHz/2.5GHz spectrum.
Who was first to release EVDO rev. A and will be the first to release EVDO rev. B?
How many people were laid off when AT&T/Cingular merged? Or when Cingular bought Spring? Or when Alltel bought Western Wireless? Or when Verizon was created by each merger between Bell Atlantic Mobile, Vodafone/Airtouch Cellular, GTE Wireless and PrimeCo?

Fusic, Blade, Katana, Data Cards, Treos...
I wish sprint would get with samsung, lg, and motorola and develop a whole new lineup of phones from the bottom up.
A whole new design theme that distinguishes sprint from the competition.
A lot of GSM phones for the US, are massaged versions of overseas phones.
CDMA phones are developed almost solely for the US market.
C'mon sprint, get it together with handsets, and you'll have the market share. We need a couple sweet ass sliders, a few icon phones that everyone associates with sprint.
