RIM May Split Business Apart

This "breaking up the company" business reminds me of when Palm was circling the bowl before they eventually went down the pipe. I wonder if RIM will do the exact same thing...
Here is whats different:
What was Palm was bought,sold, and merged a few times throughout the years creating a weak company in the end.
That weak company put out a very impressive OS, put it on lousy hardware and gave an exclusive to Sprint of all carriers. Never gave it a chance. Then another company with a lousy management team bought it and destroyed what was left.
RIM is in far better shape with it's restructuring efforts. Management is being turned over, options are being explored and talked about. They still sell well in other countries. They still have a lot of cash, a huge patent portfolio, and still some advantages over the other guys in some areas to keep them in for a good long fight anyway.
RIM could do the same thing as Palm did to answer your question, but not now.
