Verizon Wireless Sued Over V710 Bluetooth Limitations

you read this website and i am guessing others like it, so you know what is going on. if you look at the page verizon has (or had) for the phone there is nothing telling you it is limited bluetooth functionality. if you read their info and had a working knowledge of bluetooth you would never know that the phone was crippled. they were very careful in their working. it says you can "connect to your PC or PDA at any time over bluetooth". there is no astrix saying it can only do a few things bluetooth can do. it does not say you can ONLY connect to your desktop PC to use your cellphone as a modem. besides file transfering, it does not support all the MAc OS X built in bluetooth fun other phones have. you can not use the desktop machine as Caller-ID (looking up the phone number in your address book). the computer can not dial or answer your cellphone. it can not be used as a remote to control just about any application. it is not usable for a limitless options of applescripting. all those things work on the sony/ericson BT phones i know for sure.
if you went to the Moto page for the phone, it talked about the BT abilities including file transfers. Moto has since removed that from their page. if you did your research on the Moto page, then saw it was avaialble at your Verizon store you would have been mislead. we know the phone has the ability in it, but Verizon turned it off because of their contracts with the Get It Now people.
yes, you had 15 days to make it work, but i also know some people assume they are doing something wrong. they may not have a ton of time to devote to the phone. it's very possible it took more than 15 days to realize they were mislead. it took me more than 15 days to get my last phone to do some tricks to connect to my computer. it did not take me 15 days of playing around, but by the time i had spare time to mess with it, it was more than 15 days. i'm not talking about the V710, but it's a general point. if you are a Mac/Linux/BSD user then verizon offers you zero support. it is up to you to figure out how to use the phone with your computer. they software they sell you is only for M$ products.
