If Verizon enabled file transfer with bluetooth, people could and would rip verizon off. Verizon offers it's GETITNOW services for ringtones and games and wallpapers. If file sharing through bluetooth was enabled, that would give one customer full freedom to pay for a download, and send them to as many other customers that he or she wants, instead of everyone purchasing it if they want it. Its just like me buying computer software, and making a copy for my buddy, instead of him buying his own. It would hurt the software company, and its illegal. Yes people burn illegal copies all the time, but is it really fair? All customers may not go to get it now and buy a ringer, or game, and send it to others, but I guarantee you that majority of people would. I'd be tempted myself.

And that would require ALL of these people to pay $300 for the phone first. Verizon still wins.
