See HTC, here's how it works…

People shell out a lot of money for a smartphone + contract. It's like, $200.00 + $1k a year, for two years. So they expect that there's some arrangement that they won't be totally left in the dark after the 30 days or so they can no longer return the phone.

So see, when you announce a new feature and make it a selling point, at the very minimum you should continue support for it. Actually, you really should keep improving on it, and make those improvements available to the device for the lifecycle of it (about 2 years.)

No one really needs these types of services anymore from HTC. Not when you have Google or another popular service.
