T-Mobile USA Call Center Consolidations Nix 1,900 Jobs
ALL LIES
T-Mobile is NOT Nixing any jobs at all.
Not one, and certainly not 1900.
Every single T-Mobile employee who works at a current call centre will be given opportunity to transfer to one of the currently existing ones. No employee has lost their job.
"""Though the facilities scheduled for closure employ 3,300, about 1,400 employees will be added to the remaining 17 call centers, offsetting some of the job loses to a net of 1,900 positions."""
The above statement could not be farther from the truth. The closures will affect up to 3,300 employees, but NONE of them have lost their jobs. 1,400 is the number is NEW employees that are being hired by T-Mobile DISPITE this closure.
AGAIN - Nobody h...

All affected employees (3,300) are being given the opportunity to transfer. T-Mobile is betting that 1,900 won't or can't take the offer to move. They will basically "Nix" their own jobs with the company.
Now if 100% of the employees in the closing call centers took the offer, This strategy of making 1,900 positions vanish may backfire
Bottom line is by their math, 1,900 jobs are going and they got out of the responsibility of handing out pink slips and gave it to their employees to decide.
all sad anyway
Unfortunately for customers and frontline reps, they still have a very large majority of these customer care positions being outsourced to places where you barely understand them and they you. I understand its cheaper but you clearly are not listening to your customers.
Proof that Tofuchong is just another T-Mobile corporate shill.

If he were a corporate shill--he would have just told us that T-Mobile's statement was correct.
*Phonescoop would never quote someone from TMO [ CEO and President of T-Mobile] if this is nothing but speculation
1. T-Mobile doesnt have the financial stability of employing people they dont need.
2. If T-Mobile is planning to fix their service and plans like they claim, less calls will come into call centers. Less calls = less people needed.
3. Im sure T-Mobile ISNT going to hand out checks for people to uproot and move and break leases so they can go to other call centers, some of which happen to be STATES AWAY!
So again, tell me how people arent goingto lose their jobs. Being given an opportunity thats unrealistic to just up and move isnt an opportunity to keep your job. Thats like saying, you have the opportunity to spend your childrens college fund on Craps in Vegas to win $1...

"T-Mobile is inviting employees from the seven call centers, planned for closure, to transfer to another facility. Employees who transfer will be offered relocation assistance."
Also the RIF will eliminate jobs by attrition from those not willing to transfer:
"Call centers scheduled for closure are located in: Allentown, Pennsylvania; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Frisco, Texas; Brownsville, Texas; Lenexa, Kansas; Thornton, Colorado and Redmond, Oregon. This consolidation effort will result in 1,900 net job reductions. T-Mobile employs approximately 3,300 people at the seven affected facilities. However, the company will begin hiring immediately at the rema...

The company has the right to do it, and will probably pay some sort of severance for the workers that cannot transfer. I just wish them all the best.
