Any word when any of the new phones will be available?
I was just talking to an associate at Verizon Wireless about replacing my HTC Droid Eris and they suggested that I hold off for about a month due to some new phones that are about to be released. I was speaking to them about getting the Droid X when t...
I can clear a couple things up in this entire post. It seems a couple people already did, but ill verify then.

The phone will come in 2nd quarter, thats for sure, we'll see a release date in a few weeks most likely. It is going to be in the top con...
May 19th is the tenative date, if it comes out at all. They are working on a Droid X2 as well. The X2 will not be LTE from what I understand. I expect LG's Revolution to be sooner as I have played with one of those. The Samsung Charge may beat it out ...
I heard this at a VZW store that the bionic hopefully will be out in 60 days.
when when when is this phone comming
Must be available soon. Just saw a Verizon Wireless commerical featuring the Motorola Bionic. No availability date mentioned.

Just like the thunderbolt

I'm willing to bet this phone will be like the thunderbolt. People couldn't wait (including myself) for it to come out. It was delayed several times and when it finally came out there were hardly any lines at the stores and if came with only HALF of the features that were promised. Here it is July and there's no gingerbread update, no skype, and it's like finding a needle in a haystack for extended battery cases. This phone works better since the last update but it still falls behind the other htc phones. So as far as this phone being a big hit I'm not going to hold my breath.
you can get skype to work by sideloading the skype app directly from HTC, btw.

I'm not exactly sure how the thunderbolt falls behind the other HTC phones that Verizon offers, or for comparable phones on other carriers..
I think Motorola is just building up a buzz for this device. I work for Verizon Wireless and I've had a lot of customers cone in looking to upgrade or even switch carries to get this device, I heard that Moto scrapped it all together because of softwa...

I give up

Considering this will have a $299 price tag for the VZW crapware plus Advanced Blur (or whatever the hell they are calling it) - I now officially pass. I picked up the T-Bolt instead. It may be "old" but its on the market and has 4G. Moto would rather play games with release dates than getting the product to market with the customers. The only phone worth paying the $299 for was the OG Droid because it was vanilla Android AND no crapware.
Supposedly Motorola delayed the Bionic to make improvements. Sort ofbjives my curiosity as to what these improvements are that caused it to be at least 3-4 months late.
I'm pretty sure it was with some issues that Verizon Wireless had with Moto's 2.3 Gingerbread. $299 is a LOT to pay and with their data plans that's a lot to dole out.....

They are just trying to take some sales away from the iphon5, which it wont work. Everyone knows motorola sucks.
Not. The Droid Bionic is not one of the phones that apple feels violates its patents, and the iphone 5 is yet unreleased. Who knows if the iPhone 5 will even have LTE. Are you sure?

With Android still increasing it's market share, and apple s...

Several "X" Features - Vital for Bionic!

I started with the first Droid and upgraded to the X when I discovered Swiftkey Ap, which made the glass keyboard "Road Ready." Now, Motorola, I strongly request two small X features that must carry over to the Bionic. 1. Any camera worthy of "the Road" has an index finger activated Shutter Release. Please give me the X's good, Red Button, Shutter Release on side w/ the volume button for Zooming the great 8 meg camera. Pushing a glass button with one's thumb just won't do the job! 2. For equipment safety on "the Road" please keep the wrist strap Loop on the bottom corner. Simple but very important. When my Grandson plays Fruit Ninja, I say "put the Strap on your wrist, James!" Thanks!
I agree!! They took the Red button off of the Droid X2 and I ask why Verizon/Moto? That was a small little feature, but VERY nice to have!!!! That alone can help sell a device.

I wonder will the contact interface be like the HTC where you can see your facebook friends photos without actually getting on the facebook app.

Motorola Droid Bionic vs. Other Verizon 4G Phones

What does everyone think about the Motorola Droid Bionic compared to the other Verizon 4G phones coming out that were shown on CES. I would say that I would rather have the Thunderbolt but it doesn't have a dual-core processor. What do you guys think?
There's a few things about the Thunderbolt that are better, but the dual core is a big deal. it will run faster, cooler, and with less battery usage. Personally, I've never been a big fan of HTC, not sure why, but I'm a bit disappointed in the 2.7GB o...
I am a real big fan of HTC Sense and I really want it but I don't know if I can give up a dual-core processor for Sense. Hopefully the Bionic will come out in March or April. I want it soon!
I think the T-Bolts front facing is only a vga while the Bionic has a 2mp,plus the screen resolution is better on the Bionic. The Bionic is postioned as a higher-end phone. I had to replace my Incredible with a Droid X because the HTC's reception wasn'...
In all honesty, I was excited about the HTC Thunderbolt. However, after seeing the Motorola Droid Bionic, I might have to get this phone instead. I think I am more intrigued by the Nvidia Tegra 2 Dual-Core processor more than anything that the Thunder...
Some notes about the differences in terms of the SOC used.

Droid Bionic/Tegra 2: This is a dual core phone built on CortexA9 technology. The CortexA9 implemented new technology over the CortexA8 other than the capability of multiple cores that impr...

This phone is no more...

Could it be? I've done a fair amount of reading on the web. From what I can see, this phone is be replaced even before its release. I'd much rather have a cancellation rather than end up with a turd for 2 years. wht do you think? Any bets??
Looks like Q3 now... »

Bring on iPhone 5!
I think you need to learn to be more careful of your sources... Cool

Why no gingerbread?

What is with this trend of not adding gingerbread as the OS instead of froyo? I mean it's out, it's available, so why not use it? Gingerbread is said to be faster, more powerful, and more energy efficient so would not having it on a 4G phone be a good thing? Confused
Thats a great question, why wouldnt they, like you said since its new.Im planning on upgrading to the B so let's hope they do
The most likely answer is that they didn't have enough time to bake Motoblur into gingerbread, so they showed it off with froyo. if this is an early summer release, I expect it to have gingerbread
They will have it either at launch or soon after. Usually worth the wait too...They rolled out 2.2 on the Droid Incredible pretty quick, and its much better with Sense on top of the vanilla android software. Just depends how fast the dev wants it out....

FM Radio

I hope it shows up with an FM radio. I use my radio in my Droid X.

Moto, PLEASE keep FM radios in your cell-phone designs!
I doubt that they would put it in the Droid X but not in the Droid Bionic.

I think the X is the closest match to the bionic so probaably.

Why would anyone get an iphone with this beast coming out?
Because Android OS has yet to natively support Adjustable Font Size like iPhone or my long in the tooth but still hanging on LG Dare. If you root the Android phone there is a Font Size app that can be installed, but who wants to go through that hassle...

Phone will not be so good

So riddle me this. Why do people trip on this phone because its a dual core processor when it only has 512mhz of RAM??? The htc incredible had the same RAM as unlike the bionic the Thunderbolt has one processor butWAY MORE RAM 768....making it a smoother running device. A phone can have ten processors but with no memory space to do the processing its SOL. also less thn a gig internal memory meaning VERY limited app space. thunderbolt can hold 8 times the amount of aps.
accually bionic has 2.5gig internal memory but still horrible
I don't know where you get the idea that the Bionic has such little memory. Look at the specs listed on Phone Scoop for the Bionic.

Memory 2.7 GB (internal memory available to user for storage) »
Really? why do people get so worked up over tech specs but they don't take the 5 minutes to understand what they're talking about? It is 512MB of RAM, but its NOTHING like the Incredibles RAM...The Incredibles RAM is SDRAM Mobility. The Bionic is the ...

upgrade pricing, 299$ or 199$?
Most sites are reporting around the 149 range with 2 year act. Of course there is no proof yet, but did in fact have it for that price...either way...its looking good.

this is the only phone verizon offers with a dual core processor? And that should make the phone faster? More memory?

I settled for the fascinate because of the price. I don't want to make that mistake again.

Bionic Specs

I have gone to every site I can find and none of them address the radio installed in this phone. I am trying to determine if it has an FM radio in it. Most of the new phones do so I assume this one does too. However, nowhere does it say there is one.
Any comment on this question?
Really that important to you? FM radio. WOW So 80's There are so many free apps for so much better radio/music and information. But each to his/her own.

Upgrade time!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO my upgrade is in july!! I have a droid eris (ROOTED-overclocked-806mhz) and this is like the best upgrade man kind can offer me lol. UNLESS the HTC merge comes out carrying the Droid moniker and dual core processors but this will work too lol. I just really need a device with a physical qwerty keybaord offering perfomance like this ya kno. My eris is overclocked to 806 mhz (anything more and it reboots over and over) and it runs beautifully (htc should've given it a 1ghz chip) anyway this is like THE phone to upgrade to right? Very Happy Drooling
What makes you think this has a physical keyboard or did I misunderstand you?
NOPE! It dos not have a physical key board. Touch screen with "SWYPE" Check out I just looked at everything I could on there site. Nope physical key board.

I just want to make a disclaimer about our storage memory number.

The demo units we tried clearly had 4 GB of built-in flash memory, with 2.7 available to the user.

Motorola claims 16 GB.

Based on past experience, Motorola's spec sheet could be wrong. (It wouldn't be the first time.) But it's also possible that early prototypes have 4 GB, and the final shipping version will have 16 GB. Perhaps a decision was made late in development to change the memory spec.

We're looking into it and trying to get confirmation of the real number.
Your spec list says it weighs 5.35oz but Motorola's says 5.57oz. Wondering if maybe that was in error or it really is a bit lighter.
I'm pretty sure Motorola has checked and rechecked the listed specs at this point because it also listed 1gb of RAM originally (immediately after CES announcement), which was incorrect (it has 512mb, unlike the Atrix). More than likely the demo unit h...

Kudos for the high-res LCD!

Thanks Motorola for being the first one to copy the iPhones high resolutions LCD! Most other manufacturers are still making the 800x480 pixels, which was nice for a 3.0" size LCD, but not anymore for 4.0" or 4.3" sizes!

But - Why still Android 2.2? Where is version 2.3?
Im with you,Im really looking forward to that amazing screen. I have the X now and theres no way i could go to a smaller screen so im happy they finally upgraded the rez on our big boys
