Any PTT GSM phones??

Heard that Cingular will be launching their PTT service by Q2 2005...any phones there promoting this?? Anything heard there?? Any info would be of use
Q2 05 is still a lil soon for Cingular to release this service, granted the turnaround time is around 0.7 seconds. With the relocation of AT&T towers and upgrading everything to be onboard with the new Cingular, its a little tough to release new thing...

SPH-A800: Media Player??

When I read the info coming out of Vegas regarding the SPH-A800, I was like, 'YES!! Now if it could only play MP3's...'

Well I have found an article on the web quoting a Samsung executive as saying that the phone WILL have MP3 playback, but don't know whether I believe it or not. Tuolomne also found the same info more or less, but on a different site.

Can anyone confirm or refute this info?

Rich if you had any info on this, that'd be great!!! 😎
I'm almost 100% sure it does have MP3 playback, but unfortunately I just didn't have enough time to really dig into all features on that one.

I can tell you that it does have a true auto-fcous lens, which is pretty awesome. Unfotunately, the test s...

No Sony Ericsson phones?

What happened to the S700 and S710?

I would think that this would be a great place for SE to promote their products.

When are those phones coming out anyway?
I know that it is coming soon (I went to SE's website), but they are going to lose valuable customers that are going to choose a Samsung, LG or Moto phone.

Thanks.
They were definitely showing off an promoting the S710a in the Sony booth.

But it's been announced for a while, and I've done hands-on coverage before, so it's just not news for this article.

SPH-A800 Questions

1. Does it have a multi-colored customizable status LED...?

2. How does the QVGA screen look...? Large...? Refresh rate great...?

3. How does the TTS technology work...?

Thanks Rich 😉

Pick one out for me

Rich Brome and other cellphone experts,

Which one would you pick among the LG A7110, Samsung A800, and the Samsung P777?

I am willing to switch carriers, so that is not a problem.

Please let me know what your decisions are based on.

Thanks.
😕 None of them suit my fancy, if you want my honest opinion Samsung p777.

Rich - anything exciting in BT headsets?

From reading forum posts, I have concluded SE HBH300 possibly has the best sound of what is out now.

Anything at the show, with immediate future availability, that might offer the HBH300 some compition?

T.I.A.
Have you seen the Jabra 800? Damn Cool Headset!!!! go to www.jabra.com It is available now, but I have not found a retailer that has them yet. I am hoping that Verizon will soon as I get my employee discount!!!

A800 video Clips??

Does the A800 have a video recorder..and if it does..are the video clips recored longer then 15/30 seconds???
Yes, the A800 does MPEG-4 video at 144 x 176 size.

Samsung claims it can do long videos, but I was unable to find that option on the prototype on the show floor. I could only record 15 seconds, and the frame rate wasn't very good. But that could to...

IDEN?

What exactly is IDEN?

I initially thought that it meant that the phone was strictly for Nextel.

The info for the Moto i930 says that it is GSM.
Does that mean that this phone could/should come to T-Mobile?

Thanks.
Typically, unless I am wrong, this would probably mean that the i930 would pick up 900/1800 International GSM frequencies but would still have no capability of using 850/1900 North American frequencies...thus negating the use on any United States GSM ...
(continues)
No, you're right. iDEN is Nextel's technology.

The i930 has iDEN and GSM. The GSM is for overseas roaming. In that way, it's just like the Samsung A790 for Verizon. The A790 has CDMA for Verizon, and GSM for international roaming. This is the same ...

MOTO I930????

rich u mentioned it had gsm tir-band 900/1800/1900..so does that mean you culd use it on Tmobile...are cingular since t-mobile roams on cingular????
No. Nextel would have to have roaming agreements with those companies for that work, which they don't and won't have, AFAIK.

Sanyo's new product line???

When are we gonna see Sanyo's new product line for '05???
Sanyo doesn't do those kinds of announcements. They let Sprint announce them, usually when they actually launch them.

I did stop by the Sanyo booth yesterday. Nothing new. No 5600. Just a bunch of 7400s.

Motorola HT820 stereo Bluetooth headset

Rich,

Can you get pics of the Motorola HT820 stereo Bluetooth headset that I read about on Engadget.com.

http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000233026381/ »

They mentioned that it might be at CES so if it's there, maybe you can get some pics.

Why no new Verizon Bluetoooth phones!?!?!

I really want to go to Verizon but the v710 stinks.

Looks like I will have to go to Cingular to have any halfway decent options.
Yeah I can't wait! It looks as though cingular is actually going to realease those phones with the brand name on them! LOL . I bet Verizon gets the other two CDMA models or maybe even Sprint.
The i730 has Bluetooth. There are more, too...

Did you see the LG VX-8100 info cropping up elsewhere on the web? It's Verizon's version of the LG's KF1000 for Korea. EVDO and Bluetooth.

You haven't seen what Motorola has up its sleeve, either......
