AT&T To Begin Un-branding Cingular Monday
100 million +....
Thoughts from a Cingular employee
In terms of a service downgrade, your service will not change at all, if anything, it will only get better.
As a sales employee, some things are changing, and it seems to be for the better. Our quotas have changed, and its made our job easier and less demanding. We're now allowed to price match places like RadioShack, Walmart, Bestbuy, ect... And best of all, we're still Unionized.
The only downfall I see is a short term problem... and thats the confusion its going to cause for some customers. A lot of customers just simply dont understand, and they dont seem to care or want to understand. I will also admit that I like the name "cingular" better than "ATT...

And best of all, we're still Unionized...it is what it is.
I knew there was another reason besides horrible service, customer service, and horrible rate plans I didn't like Cingular...

Cingular turning to ATT
Most of all changes to our bill? If this will bring new charges my husband and I will not be happy. I know it might just be a few upings here and there. But, they sent out no prior notification or anything. Nothing explaining what is going on. Which kind of makes me mad... you would think they would keep current customers in the loop.
Plus, I like the little orange guy better than some stupid globe.
This isn't like AT&T Wireless being absorbed by Cingular. That was one wireless company merging into another. In this case, Cingular's parent companies are changing, but everything directly ...

Cingular isn't "changing back" to AT&T wireless. The merger between the old company that was formerly known as AT&T wireless & Cingular is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than the rebranding/name change o...
F#$%K VERIZON!!!!! ALL ABOUT THE MONOPOLY!!!!!!!!!
Couple of questions
2. Are people not agreeing with the merger being let out of their contracts without penalties?
3. What service changes are going to be made during the merger?
4. Are we going to have to go through the webpage/online payment fiasco again?
5. How long are the Cingular branded phones going to work without being replaced?
6. When can we expect to be able to look at new AT&T rate plans and features? Will they be cheaper?
It is only a name change this time around. No merger issues.
5. should not be an issue. only the Alpha Tag will change on the network, nothing else.
6. not sure. plans shouldn't be too much different from current plans if at all. possibly some bundled stuff with landline if you li...

Thoughts from a former pre merger AT&T employee

A horrible decision by AT&T

AT&T seems to be the proverbial phoenix, rising from its ashes and taking flight again gobbling up telecom companies and well on its way to becoming the monopoly it used to be. Under AT&T's control, the previous
