It's a great idea

to dial back the number of new phones. Motorola's been killing themselves with all those Android phones for Verizon. Do they really need 3 or4 different high end models on sale at the same time all competing for a customer's attention? NO!! It causes more customer confusion than it produces more sales.
I think you're going to see this as a trend from all, the 5 to 6 month span of new devices from all phone makers is going to be paired down. Android is now established. Better off making one killer phone a year, maybe two is going to be a trend. De...

I hate to see job losses....

but if Google didn't do this to motorla, you would eventually see about 100% job loss because the company would go under. I think that Motorola phones are about to get really really good.
I agree with you. But I hope they expand on the razr theme but give people the extend battery. The option between webtop software, like ATRIX HD and qwerty keyboard. That would be 3 amazing phones.
I just hope we can still see some MILL SPEC flip phones for both Sprint and Verizon esp SPRINT!!!! Because they need them more for our First-Responders!
