What would you do? Nextel Blackberry 7520 or Sprint Treo 650?

Dilemma - I'm a current Nextel sub, and I want to add a second shared line with the new BB752 for business use - pros: $299, one carrier, shared minutes, one bill, great phone/email/pda plus I have a fairly new i830. Being a gadget guy like most of you, I upgrade phones yearly, so this time next year I would be ready to move into what ever "Sprint Nextel" comparable devices are offered (assuming that this would occur in a year's time).

My question(s):
1. would the above idea be smoother than getting a new line of svc with sprint now and going for the higher priced, but better equipped treo 650? - and then merging both sprint & nextel plans later down the road?

2. User "R. Brome" already offered some seemingly qualified reassurance...

I think you should change your iDEN phone soon for a new CDMA PTT phone.
iDEN Networks will no longer exist.
Nextel will upgrade its network to CDMA.
This upgrade will benefit all Nextel and iDEN phones customers.
Take it as an advice. 😉 :w...

I was told Sprint has the Blackberry in stock but won't sell it because of no tech support for it and some other rights issues with software.

The Future Of The MVNOs

Any idea on how the merger will affect Virgin, ATT, ESPN, and Boost customers? Especially Boost, if they have to switch to CDMA phones like Nextel. Also, with qchat, would Virgin, ESPN, and ATT offer Ready Link-like service or features with their phones in the future?

Readylink or DirectConnect... Qchat

Anyone familar with Sprint and Nextel and Qualcom know that most likely they will phase out RL and DC and have a new PTT service using Qchat.

Im confused

So will all the nextel stores say "SPRINT-NEXTEL"? and will motorola's IDEN no longer exist??
I guess so.
iDEN phones should no longer exist , all of them have stupid features. 🤣
CDMA PTT phones are better and I think this will benefit CDMA market, because Motorola will have to offer more new CDMA PTT models.

A Couple of Questions...

1. What about Nextel's worldwide opperations (i.e. Mexico & Latin America)? Will they switch to CDMA or stay iDEN?

2. With the deployment of qchat in addition to the merger, will Sprint lower if not eliminate pricing for Ready Link?

Reserve yor tickets now for the 2006 or 2007 NASCAR Sprintel Cup Season!!! 🤣
1.I think the best for Sprint-Nextel would be switching to cdma.
CDMA is better than iDEN. CDMA has more divices, with more features.
And you can roam a CDMA phone in many parts of the world , with iDEN you can't travel anywhere except the Americas....
