HTC Posts Keyboard, Clock Apps in Play Store
HTC has recently pulled some of the core applications out of its Sense user interface and made them available separately through the Google Play Store. Both the Sense keyboard and Sense clock apps have appeared in the Play Store in recent days, which can now be updated independent from full OS upgrades. Google and Motorola have taken similar steps with some of their apps, such as their camera apps. HTC already offers a handful of other apps via the Play Store, including Gallery, Blinkfeed, Sense TV, and Dot View.
HTC Updates Lock Screen and Sense Home Apps
HTC has made updates available to its Lock Screen and Sense Home apps for the One M9 and other handsets. The Lock Screen gains a significant refresh thanks to Lollipop-style notifications, full-screen album artwork during music playback, and more detailed local weather information.
Google Adds Clock App to Play Store
Google has made its Andriod clock application available via the Play Store as a stand-alone app. The app includes a home screen widget as well as alarm, stopwatch, timer, and world clock features.
Motorola Updates Camera, Gallery Apps
Motorola has in recent days updated its camera and gallery applications. The camera app brings QR and barcode scanning to some of Motorola's older handsets, such as the Moto X (2nd Gen.), Moto X Pro, DROID Turbo, and Moto Maxx/Turbo.
Google Play Store Update Hitting Android Devices
Google has redesigned the Play Store and is pushing the new version to Android devices this week. The refreshed content store is significantly altered and makes locating apps, games, movies, TV, and music easier on the eyes thanks to new tabs.
