Finger Scanner, What Do You Think ?
Jun 18, 2017, 5:00 PM
in the Samsung Galaxy S8+ forum

I understand the concern over the scanner on the back, but I had the S7 and the fingerprint scanner was built into the home button and I always had to preposition my finger to get it to work. So far I like it I just put my finger on the scanner and it opens the phone right away. My only thing is the phone is so tall you just have to hold the phone a little higher, ( I should ...

I Don't have a cradle to use it in the car , the phone has blue tooth and I leave it in my pocket, and if you use it for gps it will stay on if it is giving you directions. I understand the concern over the scanner on the back, but I had the S7 and the fingerprint scanner was built into the home button and I always had to preposition my finger to get it to work. Voicemail
Jun 18, 2017, 4:42 PM

Overall I like the phone the screen is the best yet, But I bought the unlocked version from best buy they had a 100 dollar discount. My question is how do you get the voice mail to work? I mean the S7 I had before was a locked phone and it had a little widget for the voice mail and would have a notification if someone left you a voicemail, the unlocked version don't seem to get notifications of voicemail, ...

Switch ???
Jul 9, 2013, 8:47 AM
in the Samsung Galaxy Note II (GSM) forum

I have the Note 2 , and like everybody else I think it is a really good phone. And like everybody else I think it is big, maybe too big, you can not use it with one hand and it barley fits in a pocket, So now that the S4 has come out and I went to look at it in the store it seems like a good phone. Nice size. Anyway I was wondering if anyone has switched ...

SWITCH ???
Jul 2, 2013, 11:43 PM
in the Samsung Galaxy S 4 (GSM) forum

I am curious if anybody has switched from the Note 2 to the S4 , in the beginning I thought it was a good idea coming from an htc with a 3 inch screen to a 5.5 inch screen, obviously it is very easy to see cause of its extra large screen, But that also has its draw backs, one handed operation is not a reality. And like most people now a days I do more texting than talking and ...

I went to the tmobile store and they gave me a new ...

Ah finally a response, well I kind of think it is a problem with the phone, or setting on the phone, I spoke to t-mobile and went to the t-mobile store, And they said like you it is probably a setting , But on their side, ??? They said they will put in a trouble ticket. Unfortunately after a few days they called back and asked if was working better but I told them No, and they did not know what ...

I have t-mobile and on their site it says you are up to date if you have handheld version 4.2.2.180 , and I asked someone @ tmo and they said don't upgrade unless it says so on their site but like you said on BB's site it says they are up to 4.5.0.37, can I upgrade? or will it have any adverse affects?

I think they are just as good or just as bad as any other service, it just depends what phone you get and where you use the phone, and what your problem is whether or not the csr reps can solve it. I have the curve which seems to work well on t-mobile and have had a few issues that all of the t-mobile reps have been able to work out. one was transferring my e-mail address from one phone ...

I read allot of stuff here on phonescoop. some good and some bad, I just think I have to agree with this post and say the cell phone companies, I mean all of them. should reimburse you for service when their is an outage. after all your home phone co. would, your cable TV company would, your electric company would credit you, I had a problem with my cable at one time and I did not even ask I ...

I must agree with you it seems pretty good, especially since it has a color screen and lighted keyboard I like the fact that it automatically adjust brightness and keyboard lights, and you can actually see screen outdoors. Yes I must say bat life is ok, also if you need t-mobile has on their website an extended battery.

No! if you have your wifi turned on the phone, (that is) if you have the settings set to do this, will select wifi automatically, and you will be able to make and receive calls. you do not have to sign up for a plan cause t-mobile has a voice over internet network. And yes if you do not have the wifi hot spot @ home plan you use your minutes, unless it is nights or weekends, but so ...

get the curve it is almost like the sidekick but has the wifi and it will work at your house great if you have hi speed internet and a wireless router, until you have a phone with wifi, you do not realize how good it is. I agree with you, But I think the big companies bring it on themselves, I am an auto tech and I see the same thing in my industry, cars have longer warranty, built better fuel injection, computerized, and now more companies are offering longer warranty, major services included. So they do not want to pay when they brake. they do not understand why they break. they think they are made to brake. Are you kidding if it did not ...

I do not know? I wanted to get a black berry curve So I got it through AT&T, cause I figured they may have better coverage, I looked at both at&t and t-mobile coverage maps, it kinda looked like AT&T had slightly better coverage, so I went with them. But I went to my friends house Clearly in a good coverage area according to the map, no signal, my friend has t-mobile, works fine, and this is not the ...

Wrong I just got my curve 8300 frome AT&T and thought the same thing. I had a razor from alltel and transfered all my ring tones and pics via blue tooth. You can not just connect the two devices and try to send stuff to the curve, you have to tell the black berry to accept stuff (pics, ring tones ) first, go to the place you want to save stuff in (media folder) ring tones or pics and ...

Unlocked Phones???

I hear much about unlocked phones, but is really a good thing? I understand you do not get the discount for signing a contract, and they cost more to buy, That aside, Are they really better, or do network dependant features not work? and make them not worth getting?

I think when you do that the phone updates it self, when I had verizon they always said to do that *226 or what ever # thing to update it, but from what I was told that only updates the roaming list, then when I had alltel they told me to do what you said turn the phone off and then on every once in a while and that updates it, I have had a couple LG's and a ...

if you already have it and do not like t-mobile you could get it unlocked, from what I read on gsm phones and use it on at&t, But why would you do that? they do not have the hot spot deal, or any wifi deals.

I do not know what you are talking about, most cell phones do that, I had verizon, and I had lg phones with them, but they kept dropping calls, I had 440, 6100, 8100. Then I switched to alltel, and bought a razor, so far it has dropped one maybe two calls. But I still get that echo that cdma gets sometimes. wifi ?
Sep 22, 2007, 1:40 AM

is wifi like blue tooth does it drain the battery in the phones? just a thought, cause many new phones are coming out with wifi and I know that the blue tooth does drain the battery a bit more than when it is off. But then again, it does make the connection much faster than edge. I was thinking of getting the curve, but now the 8820 has wifi and the curve does not, and I think that is ...

Yes you see a lot. But you do not know who's company they belong to, they all look alike. Sometimes I am right by one at a stoplight in my car, I look at the phone and see 2 or 3 bars, then I go down the road a bit and the signal if full. so I guess that is not a cell tower my phone is using. Just curious a 3 mile radius from the tower or from ...
