Re: Possible New Phones for Metro

in the Metro forum

I have been using Metro PCS as my "home phone" since March 2002. While their service has drastically improved (which I happen to be quite pleased with for the price), their selection of phones have not. This has ALWAYS been Metro PCS's BIGGEST drawback. If they don't get some desirable phones soon, they will eventually meet their demise. :(

Updated Version of 8800!
Apr 18, 2007, 4:42 PM
in the BlackBerry 8800 forum

This is not a lie! I got to handle an updated version of the Blackberry 8800. For now I can't mention the model#, but the best thing about this device is the keyboard, which DESPERATELY needed improvement. This thing looks a lot like the 8800, but instead it's silver, the feel of the device is MUCH better and it's slightly smaller. Handling this device has made me feel really good about being patient and sticking with my 8700c, but ...

I agree with you on the camera. Kind of like people buying into "all in one" printers, which never can give you the best in any of the three or four options. Stick with BlackBerry. Like you, I've tried them all and There isn't a better option as of yet. I really like the 8703e the best, but switched to the 8700c (cingular) for business reasons. T-Mobile's 8700G will give you the lightning fast email delivery (no joke! blink of ...

go to email setup on your blackberry or simply log in at https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw to make those changes. you can also set it up through pop3 with any email program.

BlackBerry 8703e vs BlackBerry 8700 Series
Oct 17, 2006, 8:24 AM
in the BlackBerry 8703e forum

I'd like to hear from everyone on which BB device they prefer and why. Overall I want to stick with my 8703e, but I question the reliability of VZW's network when it comes to email and sms. Believe it or not, T-Mobile has been the fastest I've seen in the email&sms department. I've had a T-Mobile 8700g and the 8703e on my desk, sent an email to both simultaneously and the 8700g gets the email before my hand leaves ...

I also receive this same complaint from others when talking on this phone, but this is my second one and I had no report of that on the 1st. Is your husband a loud talker? because it could be the compression on the transmitter. One thing to remember with blackberries is that they are email 1st, phone 2nd, but either way they are better than the competition hands down and this 8703e (phonewise) is better than the 8700g (t-mobile) ...

Blackberry 8705G Release Date???
Oct 15, 2006, 9:00 PM
in the Rumor Mill forum

So, the Blackberry 8705G is on the Blackberry site and T-Mobile is the supposed carrier, but T-Mobile acts as if they've never heard of the device before. This is down right irritating to me because from my experience with the 8703e (VZW), I believe the 8705G is going to be a device worth having. T-Mobile's email through blackberry is the fastest I've dealt with, but the limitations of the 8700G made me switch to Verizon. If ...

RIM just released PocketMac v4.0 for Blackberry on 10-2-06, which settles any issues with being unable to sync the 8703. It looks better than ever and it also has support for the Pearl. As I said before, Mac will no longer be ignored... Here are the directions Steve at PocketMac sent to me: How Do I Download This New Release? Step 1: Click Here To Start The Downloading Process: go to blackberry support...phonescoop won't allow links to be posted here Step 2: Click On The ...

FYI, I just tested a blackberry 8700g and it synced flawlessly with OSX.3(Panther) and OSX.4(Tiger). I called verizon and complained about it and they admitted to having a meaningless block in their software. I told them if they didn't work it out right this second, I'd either be wiping this blackberry 8703e and reloading non-verizon software into it or I'd be going back to T-Mobile or trying out Cingular (already tried sprint...no comment), so now I'm waiting on hold ...

still digging that E61? wondering because most complain about it and end up going on with an 8700. The E61 is definitely a sharp PDA, but I didn't like the keyboard very much. Beautiful screen too!

first, learn how to spell or simply use the "check spelling" function located below. second, ever since apple started using intel, developers have been coming out of the woodwork to make software for them (RIM WENT TO POCKETMAC!) Besides, what "compatibility" issues are you speaking of? GAMES! Play games on consoles, not computers...unless you like Warcraft  Anyway, I never had any issues making the painless switch from windows 98 to mac until I bought a blackberry. Macs ...

Well, I got 8703E yesterday and I'm pleased to be with Verizon's network, but I can't get the thing to sync with my Mac. I've been syncing my BB7230 with my Mac with no problems, but this is 8703E situation has me a little bummed out :( I simply REFUSE to return to Windows, so I must find a way around this in the meantime while pocketmac sorts this out...looks like I'll be stopping by a friend's house to ...

I'm with you guys. BLACKBERRY FOR LIFE! My scroll wheel broke on my 7230, so I decided to upgrade from both BB7230 and T-Mobile to BB8703e and Verizon Wireless. They claim that my new BB should be at my door by 3:00PM 9-20-06 :-)... . I'll drop the word when I play with my new toy for a day or so.

be patient. the BB8800 is coming possibly early next year. it's basically the "pearl" with a qwerty. RIM is doing away with the side-wheel and moving on with the trackball, so they can make thinner BBs. I'd like to hold out for the 8800 myself, but my damn side-wheel broke on me two days ago...

In response to your side note, strangerthanfiction48, I noticed that the Nokia "E61" is now coming out for Cingular as the "E62", but the WIFI has been removed! You are correct my friend. Price Katrina. It's all about the price. T-Mobile told me that there wasn't much to the BB8705, but they didn't say that the price of the 8700g wouldn't drop after Sept 18th. The 8700g will go down in price eventually and that's when I'll upgrade. At this point I feel that I need to stop being an early adopter (even though it's painful) and stay behind the curve a bit. But for you early adopters...Let's not forget about the ...

You see, camera&mp3 in a phone has never been important to me. Besides, I have an iPod and a digital elph. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a device that is a great phone, camera, Mp3, etc..all in one, but it just wont happen. Look at all the "all in one" printers. They're always a HUGE dissapoinment. I'm excited about the release of the "pearl" tomorrow because hopefully the 8700G will drop in price. Then I'll upgrade from my 7230. I'm a full keyboard bb lover too, but I must agree with "strangerthanfiction" (ya Bad Religion fan ;-) )Change is not always a bad thing. Look at Apple ;-) some "diehard macheads" are pissed that they switched to intel processors, but I believe that's the only reason that I can now sync my BB with my ...

Sorry I'm just now seeing this message. yep! This same thing kept happening with my 6600+BT250 setup. Also, it kept happening with my Nokia 6255i+BT250 Setup, but the 6255i is quick to reconnect automatically. My BT250 eventually fell apart and quit working, so I assume that it was Jabra. :-)... I've been told September 4th or 5th. I've managed to get in good with a few of the employees and have already handled this phone. It's much better than my 6255i! MUCH BETTER! Plus it's actually thinner than the 6255i. It will be the best phone in MetroPCS's lineup by far.

I actually got to handle the Nokia 6265 today. It is impressive!!! Normally I could care less for the camera features of a phone, but the camera on this one is very clear. It feels solid, unlike the 6255i and sounds much better as well. They say it will be out around the 1st of September. :D

Well, I certainly hope it's less problematic than the 6255i. I just wish Metro would get a series 60 nokia phone, so I wouldn't have to put windows on my mac
