AT&T is a joke
Way to go, still having the worst wireless plans available.
This in no way competes with the other 3 carriers. Most glaringly, still no solution if you are an individual that DOES NOT want their crappy TV service which ensures AT&T gets well over $100 per month for the "privilege" of getting unlimited data.
Glad I left them.

Re: who cares
I'm just saying, potentially more music and albums on offer for the same price as Spotify could be a big deal for some follks. I won't really care because I'm dropping iOS soon, anyway. However, I can't deny the potential value there for fans of Apple/iTunes. I doubt this will sway anyone who isn't already an Apple fan, though.
Re: who cares
Aren't there more music options within iTunes' catalog than in Spotify's?
Re: Shocking...
I usually trade in my old phone towards the purchase of a new one, anyway, so that part doesn't bother me. But, different strokes for different folks. Leasing is not an attractive option for everyone.
Re: Shocking...
Wasn't one of the main marketing "benefits" of these Next plans to allow faster phone upgrades? If you look at it that way, you aren't paying full price for the phone and you aren't paying that much more than the subsidized price if you change phones once a year. If you are on Next for two full years, I think you're doing it wrong.
I would love to see...
some plans that actually catered to folks like myself that use data more than voice. Flat rate of $10/GB is steep.

Earlier than this last year we were told that the rollout would be through out 2013 with many in early 2013. Columbus Ohio is still on the crap list and the service in Columbus is crappy.
Yeah, I agree. Sprint's 3G network in Dayton was horrid. I got rid of them in a hurry (after 2 years of agony lol). They decided to switch to LTE before Dayton even got WiMax! Come on! I had a capable handset, ...

There is service in San Diego, but it is extremely limited. They are hoping to stall us who have already suffered years without LTE in the major cities, cause they dont want to finish deploying PCS LTE, they want to deploy major cities on the ClearWire spectrum that no devices can use, hope we upgrade and get suckered into bad service again as that frequency ClearWire uses cant penetrate walls, while the PCS can but is crappy for ...
Re: Without lowering the plan price, you are being double charged for the handset. ..
And....that other 1/4 of the retail price of the phone is essentially your "upgrade" fee for being able to get a new phone at the 6 month mark. Not exactly better than AT&T's plan. I agree, the service plan should decrease in price with this program.
Re: Really? No one noticed?
Exactly. Verizon's program essentially has an "upgrade" fee, because at the 6 month mark you will have only paid for 1/4 of the device. So, if you don't want to shell out the additional 1/4 of the price, you will be able to upgrade around the same time as AT&T's plan proposes...after 12 months.
Re: Impressive
I'm not understanding how this progam is better than AT&T's. You still have to pay for half the cost of the phone before you can upgrade. So, you either have to shell out the remaining amount to cover half the retail cost of the device at 6 months, or continue making installments as usual and upgrade several months past the inital 6.
Re: UGLY!
I could have sworn I read it does have an optical zoom and CMOS sensor.
Can Dayton, Ohio please get some LTE love already?
Every other major city in Ohio, including Toledo, Cincinnati, Columbus, Akron, Youngstown, and Cleveland, all have LTE. Makes no sense why it is taking so long for Dayton to get some love, especially with its footprint squarely between Cincinnati and Columbus. :(
Google Wallet/Checkout
I went to the Google Wallet website to see which websites accepted the feature. Among them were Buy.com and JR.com. However, when I clicked on the Google Checkout button, it says that my current method of payment is invalid. Why is this when I have $50 worth of credit in my Google Wallet? Anyone having this issue or am I just doing something wrong? Am I not actually able to use this online?

The only thing Im worried about with this phone at the moment is the price. 299.99 seems a little steep to me but considering how many other Droid devices there are on the market. Especially when the phone feels like a Droid X2 with a few more bells and whistles.
The Zumocast feature does look cool but Im not sure if thats worth an extra 100.00 I wouldnt be supprised if VZW changes the price fairly quick after launch.

Why didn't Samsung go qHD on a 4.5" screen?
qHD is not better than Super AMOLED, let alone Super AMOLED+, IMO. I have the Motorola Photon 4G which I will be returning next week before my 30 days is up. The screen on my previous phone, Samsung Epic 4G, is much more pleasing to my eyes than the qHD they have on the Photon 4G. The qHD on the Photon has very visible lines/columns when the screen is off ...
Re: So you bought a phone with worse reception.....
We'll agree to disagree on that point, I'm afraid. At least for what I use a phone for, the EVO ran faster on Sprint than my 3GS did on AT&T in my apartment. The internet loaded up faster on the EVO. I can only speak from what I have personally experienced, though. I don't regret my switch by any means. I'd gladly rather pay $20 less each month and still have more features than the iPhone 4. It's not ...
Interesting....Glad I jumped ship to an EVO
This is amazing to me. I actually thought something wasn't quite right with my original iPhone and later my 3GS.
I got the original iPhone in 2007. Then, I got a 3GS in 2009. It did seem that my signal bars were almost always at 4 or 5 bars anywhere I went. I wondered if this was just a great phone with great reception or if it was too good to be true.
Now, having read this news from ...
