its blocky and poorly done, thus making it difficult for the eye to wander naturally from element to element. Your elements are styled very differently from top to bottom, left to right, and page to page even, you use center justified text on a block of text (big no, no)... Worst of all, though, is the really, really, really bad content. When I finally got around to finding and reading the content, I vomited in my mouth a ...

What do we mean by "a calorie is a calorie?" Because it is a colloquial phrase, it is important to understand exactly what it is meant by "a calorie is a calorie." The most common meaning is that is it impossible for two isocaloric diets to lead to different weight loss. Frequently, the concept is justified by reference to the "laws of thermodynamics", but an explicit connection has never been spelled out. More recently, Buchholz & Schoeller [10] appear to ...

With regards to food, no. 2000 calories of sugar is handled vastly different than 2000 calories of protein. And that is my entire point, and he can't seem to handle or accept that because in some weird world, calories are what make up food, not ammino acids, liptids, lactids, sugars, etc. By this account, I should be able to drink 2K calories gasoline, and it would have the same affect on my body weight as if I was ...

In the world of food and nutrition

a calorie is how much potential energy is stored in that particular food item. How much energy is potentially available to you in that glass of milk... that beer... thos 7 chicken nuggets. But the body doesn't use calories, it uses nutrients, ammino acids, etc. (all of which have caloric values, none of which are identical to one another when it comes to weight loss or weight gain). You truly have no clue what you are talking about, and are ...

It is a measure of STORED energy. It does not factor in the calories needed to release said STORED energy. Nor does it factor in all of the processes the body goes through. Heck, based on your limited and very ignorant idea, 10K fat calories=10k carb calories... except for the fact the body handles fat vastly different than carbs, and most all of the calories in fat can't be released and then restored as body fat.

remember that? Yeah... and I pointed out that you are wrong that the quality of the calories doesn't matter. You simply don't understand anything more complex than copy paste, and reading a headline/tagline.

You just don't understand simple processes
Jan 30, 2013, 11:37 AM
in the Lounge forum

do you? To say that the calories stored in sugar are just as accessable and useable by the body as in protein is ignorant, at best. To claim that the stored calories of fat=the stored calories of carbs ignores the process needed to release said calories.

You are oblivious
Jan 30, 2013, 11:33 AM
in the Lounge forum

to the fact that if something is STORED energy, there might be different levels of energy needed to be expended by the body to release said energy. And that the different ways that caloric energy is stored in, say, sugar and how the body uses it differes from that in protein or fat or fiber...

once again, you have no idea what you are talking about, and think one news article, poorly written, about and even more poorly conducted study proves what? Heck, what is wrong with what I said in the first place again? "It isn't so much about the quanity, it is about the quality of the macros, and your macro balance. If you have a horrible meal filled with a bunch of fake food, you are ending up with a ton of carbs ...

A calorie is a calorie violates thermodynamics
Jan 30, 2013, 11:14 AM
in the Lounge forum Wo w, without even getting into the hundreds (if not thousands) of studies that show different diets composed of differing macro levels will result in different results, independent of caloric intake... simple thermodynamics alone says "a caloire is a calorie" is wrong. This isn't to say (since some won't understand) that you can have extreme deviation, but what it does show is that quality of the diet/macro make up is more important than quantity. To the tune that a well ...

A very well designed UI that is simple and intuitive, but not boring and dumb like iOS. Very, very good Microsoft Office integration, as well, and with Windows Phone 8 a full ecosystem that syncs very well with Windows and Mac. I had an HD7 and loved it, just wish it had more apps and games, but with WP8 it is a full feature smartphone OS on par with Android and iOS, if not better in some ways (ie, ...

Supports full custom ringtones, even for each individual contact. Windows Phone 7 didn't out of the box, but this feature was added in with 7.5 I believe, and has been improved with 7.8 and 8 (ringtones, alerts, everything can be customized). Similar to iOS, not a lot of room to customize the UI, though, beyond changing the colors, and re-arranging the tiles. But really, that is all Android is too, you can just have dead space on Android ...

I wouldn't be surprised if a 3rd party company makes an app that allows rooms to work with android, probably would have to be version 4.0 or above given that is when the full exchange support was really added in to Android (prior was a more limited form of exchange).

Neither can I... it is an odd little bug. Best I can tell, it has as much to do with the browser as it does the HTML element itself. Like I said, I have yet to have an issue with it, beyond my friends tablet (asus infinity) and to be exact. We found he just needs to select the bottom edge of the sign in screen, and it will work 100% of the time. But I ...

Yup, it is a known bug with HTML forms and touchscreen/mobile browsers in general... they like to render the input box as 0px tall for the touch area... just try clicking on the bottom of the box, and it shoud work. Rich, not sure if there is any CSS that can be done to correct, either. Some people report being able to make it better by putting a placeholder in the input field, others have reported that manually defining ...

not going to happen. Just to clue you in, the iPhone5 costs $600-$800 in a retail setting. There is no way you will ever find a decent smartphone for less than $100 without signing a contract to get it subsidized. Heck, all the parts in, say, and Galaxy Nexus cost close to $200, without counting labor, design, shipping, advertising, R&D, etc. Even couple year old smartphones that are alirght are still going to be well over that in a ...

through other means, but no optical telescope on earth or in orbit can get close at all to seeing it. There is a telescope orbiting the moon that can sort of see it. You can see the projected shadows and sort of see the flags. ech/article-2180664/American-flags-planted-Ap ollo-moon-missions-wave-40-years.html

If I were to have a talk with NASA about how you have seen the flag on the moon, from an earth based observatory, they would probably ask where you are so they could have you committed. It is baffling that you are trying to stick by your guns on this. It is not possible, period. The most powerful optical telescope on earth couldn't even see it if it was a mile wide, let alone 4 feet.

I don't think anyone is seriously arguing he didn't go (he did) but some people are arguing they can see a 4 foot that is 240K miles away from earth; which just is not possible with our current telescopes, let alone factoring in atmospheric distortion and loss of resolution.

That doesn't even account for the atmospheric distorations
Aug 25, 2012, 6:54 PM
in the Lounge forum

that make it even more impossible to see it from earth. It would take an otical telescope about 200 meters wide to see it; the largest optical telescope on earth is only 10 meters. You are either a liar or were tripping acid, since from earth, the smallest detail you can see is going to be miles in length; let alone 4 feet.

In astronomy and also optics, we use angles to measure the size of a field of view. If your eyes could see everything in front of you from far left to far right, you would be able to see a 180 degree field of view. Each degree is divided into 60 arcminutes, each of which are divided into 60 arcseconds, so that there are 3600 arcminutes in a degree. Anyway, a five foot flag seen from ...

Jailbreaking has nothing to do with being able to install iOS5. You have to have your UDID registered with Apple as a developer to be able to install iOS5 beta's (or any Beta for that matter). Everything else is 100% spot on, though.
