Ghost Dialing

So today I'm at the movie theatre with my friend. During the middle of the movie her AT&T iPhone rings; She shows me her phone and says "You're calling me!" I pull my Verizon iPhone 4 out of my pocket and the screen is locked and the call does not show up in my recent calls. A few minutes later, the same thing happens again. No voicemails were left. 🤨

I'm guessing it's a phone issue?? Thoughts?...

More then likely someone was playing a joke on you and spoofing your caller ID. It happens all the time.

You can always check your call records online to see if a call was made. I would not be concerned.

Dur, skip that. I was walking and (not) reading at the same time. It's a good chance Real_Deal has the right answer. If you had a different phone there might be something to worry about. Unless you've jailbroken it.

It's not jailbroken but I'm running iOS 5 beta 4. I took it to Verizon because my phone hasn't been ringing, as in I just get voicemail notifications, and they wouldn't even look at it cause I "voided their warranty"

Verizon's just the middleman, and unequiped to handle iOS5 (or much else on the iphone). If you want help, hit up Apple.

If you have put on a beta OS, that means you've had your iPhone jailbroken. You should also realize that once that is done, you void any warranty with your phone regardless of what else is wrong with your phone.

Also, iOS beta 5 is only for developers who have their own channel for support issues, even Apple wouldn't help with normal channels, also if you do contact Apple, you'll get the developer you got the iOS 5 beta code from banned.

Good luck with your problem, but I would definitely say it's an iOS bug you've encountered or a software glitch

Jailbreaking has nothing to do with being able to install iOS5. You have to have your UDID registered with Apple as a developer to be able to install iOS5 beta's (or any Beta for that matter).

Everything else is 100% spot on, though.

Beta OS doesn't = jailbreak.

I am the developer I got the code from, so I'm not worried.

I honestly don't think this is an OS issue since it has happened both ways (my phone called hers, and her phone called mine), but people are so quick to tell me it's not their problem because they have no other way of explaining it.

Ok, breaking my silence for this one.

IF you are the developer then you know full well what your obligations are on this situation. Don't come in here and bitch when we aren't sure how to help you, knowing you have a beta version of the damned software.

Also, IF, and I mean big IF, you are the developer you know full well beta versions of software have unexplainable bugs. THATS WHY THEY ARE A BETA VERSION.

I have had to deal with several stupid customers this week but this one takes the cake. You should have disclosed your situation, don't get pissy when we have to make guesses because YOU aren't forthcoming.

Isn't the point of beta testing to find bugs such as this, and being a beta tester shouldn't you have/know somebody to report such findings/bugs to so they can be investigated 🤨 i call B.S.
But on a serious note, this sounds like a classic case of prankdial.com. Has your neighbor called and asked why every morning you come over to his house and steal his newspaper lately? Or maybe Kirpal called and to tell you your daughter kicked his dog and he will be calling the cops 😳 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
