I believe I commented on that article as well, and it wasn't positive
Re: Alarming this must be
I'm about there...I have 4g in a smaaaall part CLOSE to where I work, but not actually WHERE I work. Lets not talk about Stockton, ca. Ubiquitel USED to be a test market. We were the first to get Vision, then "Power Vision" (EVDO/3G) then Wi-Max...and now? a HORRIBLE excuse for 3g, horrible voice and text, and LTE is no where in sight. The central valley was a big market for sprint, and they screwed us pretty well. I ...
Re: Kinda Smart move for Dish upping the price?
I think the reason sprint needs clear is the same reason there are alot of networks that DON'T have LTE. The places where they WOULD put LTE, currently have Wi-MAX towers co-owned by clear. I think once they completely acquire clear, we'll see a HUGE jump in LTE markets. Just my .02
Re: We were one of the first to have Wi-MAX, so why the delay with LTE?
Considering big red already made their deal with the FCC (in exchange for phone records) to have the big markets first...Sacramento, Modesto, and Stockton were the first places in ca to have Wi-MAX, so the question is...why the wait now? These areas were INCREDIBLY popular when the first "4G" came about, why flake on us now?
Re: Medium-Sized Cities
Or Stockton...The only reason Napa needs LTE is for the Sprint cup race at Sonoma. Stockton is HISTORICALLY bad, and it's one of Sprints biggest markets. We were one of the first to have Wi-MAX, so why the delay with LTE?
Like what Samsung had in it's galaxy s line starting...2009? Um...maybe Apple should give back the Nickels...
As a former proponent of sprint, I can tell you, I've tried sprint. I had them for 9 years. I've been happy, and most recently, INCREDIBLY disappointed. We had Wi-Max which used to be a great technology, until Sprint stopped throwing money into it, and went into LTE. I've sold sprint and worked as a service and repair technician. I've heard everything from everyone, and the bottom line is, 3g sucks. ATTs 3g was WAY faster than sprint, but ...
Poop or get off the pot
At this point, sprint is losing credibility by the second. If someone doesn't make a move, and sprint update it's archaic towers and get out of the basement as far as data speed is concerned, they might as well let sprint go dead in the water, because they won't be worth much as a Wireless company. Those who know me know I've had ALOT of sprint loyalty, but right now!? I'm about ready to jump ship.
They also found 2 more bombs that hadn't been detonated. I'm wondering maybe...juuuuuuust maybe that'd because of the cellular shut down?

To hate on teh fonescoopz! How dare you say apple was behind on technology!!! :paranoid:
I mean, how many commands are ARM based processors performing per cycle? 32bits? 64bits?
aren't the intel chipsets MUUUUCH faster than ARM based processors?
Re: You mad bro?
Also..."sprint has horrible data" your solution? Use WiFi. so your argument about ABSOLUTELY no data applies to both companies. Thanks for the free hook-up big red
Re: You mad bro?
One would be a fool to expect objectivity from someone named "big red" phanboi's...you can haz verison? it haz teh fastest interwebz and teh leastest GBz.
It's been my experience that phonescoop is THE place for news, and reviews, but as far as quick responses to device issues, phonescoop may not be the best venue. It seems that most of the traffic is in the Lounge, and is used primarily by people in the industry.
Yeah, apple had patented the pull down menu and the "widget" and just didn't wanna impliment it...
I don't understand why HTC even has locked bootloaders? LG and Samsung haven't ran a locked bootloader, and things are juuuust fine. All developers, script kiddies, super users, etc... know that if you decide to flash a rom, you run the risk of damaging your device. I just hope that the brilliant minds in the community are able to circumvent HTCs locked bootloader.
Re: ATTN BIGRED75
And from what I understand, vzw has a "tool" as big as thier network, and likes to use it sans lubrication... :paranoid: :o 8O
Re: Could Sprint have a new target ?
They probably give them 2/3rds of the 9 million because they're NOT in contract, and use metro because they didn't have the credit to use sprint, tmo, vzw, or att!
Re: You think the EVO is bad?
Not all of us our fan boiis :P
Re: Funny about that quote
because a drop down menu ISN'T a blatant copy of androids pull down menu...and "card style" multitasking ISN'T a blatant copy of webos multitasking... /;| just sayin...apple is an EVIL company. Especially when they build iphones in china at a whopping 8 dollars a piece in actual cost. I'm sure an american can build an iphone in an hour or so, and if the cost goes to 16 an iphone, it'd be ok, because americans with jobs would be ...
ATT's Network has been in steady decline since they began to shut down the "EDGE" network. Granted, in places where you have GSM service, it's SUPER fast, but in all honesty, it's damn near impossible to get great signal unless you have an "X" ducttaped to that spot and you're standing there. Same goes for Sprint's WiMax (which they wanna dump for some reason, even though REAL network technicians think it's a MUCH better choice than LTE, but what ...

wall street: money never sleeps..."What's your number...see I've realized that everyone has a number, and it's usually an exact number, that you would need to just walk away and live"..."More"
Re: What I think he means is
Problem is, there are some spots where you can only get good GSM reception, others where you can only get CDMA. I see this is cities all over california. Those people would like to have a choice as to where they can go, not just ATT. Also, the ability to unlock the phones and go overseas is a HUGE deal. I know there are some specialized phones for VZW and Sprint that have a gsm radio, but those are ...
"and the dual core in the htc near spanks it"
For people on phonescoop, I'm suprised you don't use the many other available resources. Check out XDA developers, and cyanogen mod 7. They have a 2.3.3 leak out for the captivate (and a whole bunch of other android devices) something you may wanna look into 8O
Or you sell them on the fact that the Evo3d is a superior phone in every way. Sense 3.0 is awesome (and coming from a rooted, fully customized [including my own special baked rom] epic owner with a totally vanilla android interface says ALOT) and it's flat out FASTER. I have my epic oc'd to 1.4ghz and the dual core in the htc damn near spanks it. Give me a week that that mo-fo and it'll be running around ...
Re: help does anyone know???
Bend over and take it! :o
Re: Could they make this work on Verizon?
You would only go to jail if you alter the esn number on the device (which is possible) the problem is the FCC has STRICT laws about esn numbers, and yes, if you somehow got caught, you'd go to jail. Most likely from the MAC address on the device, which you'd also have to spoof to avoid detection.
Re: This just made me realize
"4G" is a firmware issue, as far as GSM devices are concerned. The TRUE 4G companies, sprint, and verizon are at a bit of a disadvantage, because it's literally a different radio in their devices. With HSPDA+ They're simply opening up thier towers up for more through-put, and the correct modem firmware on both the samsung captivate and vibrant CAN PRODUCE 4G on devices that are only "3G capable" The reason android is so widely used, is the kernel. ...
Comes in, every 2 weeks or so, brings someone in, they buy phones, and he ALWAYS brings them back. At what point do I 86 this bastard? because I'm about to jump over my counter and beat the living piss out of this piece of ****?
Re: pimpin out muh phone
don't select "set on boot" the phones don't like that.
Re: What runs many apps at once better than Plam Pre WebOS phones?
Wait for the pre 3 :D
Re: Typical SamSUCK
Any galaxy s phone on a REAL carrier is in the 500-600 dollar range without contract. The fact that they're offering something even CLOSE for 179.99 is a freakin giveaway. I'm sorry that the poor metro customers don't get everything for nothing but, that's the way the cookie crumbles. If you want a GOOD phone, ante up and flash an epic or a fascinate, or go to a post paid carrier. :)
Re: Tmobile/Clearwire to AT&T ?

He's the same idiot who says we need more deregulation over business. Lets let the banks, energy, and communications do WHATEVER they want and see how long this country stays together. "Welcome to the united states of AT&T"
