After a couple of years the phone will begin to randomly power off and will have to be powered back on or have the battery pack re-seated and then power back on. It looks and feels like a toy, but it's so very delicious. I love it.<br /><br />PROS:<br />Cool games<br />Small<br />Nice screen<br />Takes a SIM card<br />Is made with love<br />Has a great battery<br /><br />CONS:<br />No camera<br />No front screen<br />Low resoultion display<br />Battery is bad<br />Mic is too sensitive<br />Hard to hear on<br />Viewing texts are hard to get use to<br />Doesn't work well under water<br />Doesn't work well above water<br />No MP3<br />Speaker for rings is inside the phone so it's hard to hear. Always miss calls, which is ok because I would have to use a different phone to call them back because it's so hard to carry a conversation.<br />Have to carry a backup phone with you at all times.<br />Doesn't come with a case<br />No memory card slot<br /><br />To be short, this phone is the best. It was so small and compact, especially compared to my old Ericsson phone. It had a color screen, which was fairly rare back then, and neat ringtones. Perhaps the phone could carry a conversation in its infancy, but I can't recall because it had been so long since I was able to maintain a normal conversation with anyone on this phone. People would complain about static issue on my end and, at times, the phone would simply END the call out of nowhere! There was another occasion where my internet (of which I had been paying an extra $5 a month for) did not work. According to a (useless) rep at Cingular, it appeared to be an issue with my model phone only as no other customers were complaining about said issue. They couldn't tell me when they would be able to restore my internet connectivity (I used it so seldomly that, for all I know, it had not been functioning for weeks) and yet - MIRACULOUSLY - it was working again a few hours later. The phone is a piece of garbage and CDMA is far superior to GSM in call quality. I am extremely happy with my new LG VX8300 and if you are one of the few who are still using this fossil, do yourself a favor and find something else. But most importantly, get away from Cingular! I have had this phone for about two years, first on ATT and now on Cingular, RF reception is poor, audio is very poor, people on the other end complain of static and distortion. Being a teenager, I want a camera, mp3 player, or atleast SOMETHING more than just a regular phone to keep me occupied! Nowadays, you can get FREE phones with a camera! It's a nice phone if you just need a simple phone, but for someone who actually wants to get something done, it's terrible. The HiFi (voice and music) ring tones only last about 4-6 seconds, and it doesn't have the picture messaging feature. Also, I've come to notice that it sort of sounds like you're yelling to the person on the other end, and you can only control the receiving volume. Overall, I was completely bored with this phone, and basically only got it because it was a "flippy phone". Don't let looks deceive you!<br /><br />Pros:<br />Bright screen<br />Fairly long stand-by and talk time<br />Voice quality is mediocre<br />Nice design<br /><br />Cons:<br />Voice comes off as yelling<br />Very slow "internet", can't view many sites<br />Length of ringtones is very short, 4-6 sec.<br />When dropped, battery immediately falls out.<br />Easily scratched and chipped<br />Fits in pockets weirdly<br />No speakerphone<br />Key on side adjusts key volume, while ringer volume would be much more helpful<br />No camera! It was cute with a nice keypad. Actually, its a quite simple phone with no storage compacity. I could only download four extra ringtones and even then it ran a lil' slow. It has great reception. And i've never experienced not one drop-call.<br /><br />Pros: Small, lightweight. Downloadable ringtones and graphics. Rings loud. <br /><br />Cons: No speakerphone. Couldnt send and recieve pictures and sounds. Runs slow after downloading content. No speakerhone. Couldn't assign pictures and ringtones to individual contacts. Gets boring afterter your first few hours of having it.<br /><br />Its a great phone for someone whoe only uses the phone to talk on. Hell no ;)... still working like if it is NEW. Then Cingular bought out AT&amp;T Wireless and I had to upgrade my existing phone to a GSM compatible phone. Of the phone offered I selected this phone.<br /><br />Pros:<br />The keypad is very well illuminated and easy to read.<br />The display is very bright and works well for a mini-flash light when you walk in a dark room looking for the light switch.<br />There are a variety of ring tones to choose from.<br /><br />Cons:<br />Very poor construction. I did not have this phone 6 months before the led lens at the top right corner of the hinge was missing and the hinge itself broke. Also the LCD screen quit working. I sent the phone back to Samsung (there's no one local to repair it) in Texas to have it repaired with the understanding it would be repaired and back to me in two weeks. It took a month and a half to get the phone back from Samsung. Already the phone casing is breaking up again, and the plastic covering the hinge on the left side has broken off. The antenna plastic has broken and I recovered it with duct-tape. I guess you could call this the "MacGyver Phone" as mine is now mainly held together with duct-tape.<br />The microphone jack is poorly located behind the hinge making a headset difficult to use.<br /><br />I would highly recommend avoiding this phone unless you'd just like to have a good min-flashlight held together with duct-tape. What really gripes me is that even with Cingular's promotion I still had to pay $25 for this phone. It gets awesome reception and wonderful sound quality with Cincinnati Bell (a part of AT&amp;T). It runs very smoothly and has so many more features than my Nokia did!<br /><br />PROs:<br />-Great sound quality<br />-Great reception<br />-Wireless Internet is really helpful<br />-Unbelievably sturdy (has been dropped several times and not even a scratch!)<br />-Keypad is a cinch to use<br />-Really customizable (ringtones, ANIMATED wallpapers, colored font, text message sounds, keypad sounds, folder sounds, service light color, etc.)<br />-You can send little animations, pics, and sounds with text messages<br />-You can add recorded sounds to MMS's<br />-Voice recorder is really cool (this site doesn't say it has a voice recorder, but it does!)<br />-Has a cool little light that blinks when you have service, and then blinks faster when you receive call or text messages<br />-Menu is really easy to scroll thru, and if you don't like the grid style, you can change it to page or bar style<br />-Hot keys make opening applications you use often SO much easier<br />-Call and ringtone volume is perfect<br />-Games are fun (once you learn how to play them!). And the games aren't demos either!<br /><br />CONs:<br />-No speakerphone. It would be nice, but I'll live<br />-Wireless Internet (GPRS) is kind of slow!<br />-Comes with bad ringtones, but you can download more.
