I had to give up the Motorolas on that they were unusable in the lower end of the spectrum (91 and below) while traveling/commuting (walking and on public bus). Yes, you can connect via daya but it eats up preciousness(even on an unlimited plan) and kicks you back to lower speeds when you need it - why waste it?<br /><br />I have no real complaints, still working as intended. There's nothing out there right now other than costing an arm and a leg (think: HTC Amaze or One S) I would even consider trying. If something were to happen in the immediate future, I would buy another one and that is saying a lot. It wont read the sim card at all, TMobile and HTC could not help me at all, they suggest I buy a new phone. So, I switch Brand names. This is a good solid phone. The rest of my family has Apple phones so I have a point to compare. The MTG4 display is very good. AT&amp;T reception in Phoenix is still the worst of the worst. Verizon is the best. The ability to use WIFI calling makes problem reception at my house and friends houses a non issue. I knew the battery life was bad before I received the phone but after the 2.3 upgrade, the battery life doubled. The apps I use make android comparable to IOS. I have enjoyed the access to the internet and email that comes right to the phone but the best thing is the apps and widgets that lets you customize ringtones (using ringdroid)/I have LOOKOUT for security on the phone/it was free/camera is fabulous and the front facing camera for vid chat rocks too. I am glad to be with another 2 years with this phone/It has been a long time coming for an upgrade for me and my lover Mikey! The phone freezes constantly, it doesnt send or recieve picture messages most of the time, it sends text messages I never wrote when I restart my phone, just all in all a horrible phone. I'm fed up with T-mobile and their Mytouch 4g. I will tell you both are great phones but there is a noticeable difference between the two, The My Touch has a faster Internet connection and I notice I do not roam as much as i do with my Cliq 2. Tmobile and HTC have out done their selves. This phone provides on the go functionality for even the novice user. I came over from the Blackberry world and I tell you it is the best switch you can make. As a Paramedic the applications I use make it a mobile reference and has helped make some good medical decisions to have the info at my finger tips. Never been happier! I'm a smartphone maniac, and I've used my fair share of them. iPhones, Evo, Galaxy S series, Palm WebOS Devices, Palm Treos, etc. The MT4G is BY FAR, the smoothest, most user-friendly, powerful phone I've had the pleasure to own.<br /><br />So here's my review :<br /><br />Pros:<br />**Design/Materials Used - Love the metal in the body, feels really solid in the hand. I went with the black model, I thought it looked the best of all 4 colors.<br />**Network speed - SOLID 4G in and around my area (Port St Lucie, FL) makes this phone fly.<br />**Android 2.2 - Nice to have flash again, but I rooted it the first week so that wasn't a huge deal.<br />**Battery Life - I don't realize what the big hubbub is about, I get a full day of use out of my phone, even before rooting! I take it off the charger @ 8am and put it back on when I go to bed around midnight. Better battery than my Evo had!<br />**Call Quality - Fantastic quality coming out of the speaker, haven't dropped a call yet!<br />**Processor - No lag, not stuttering. Smooth as silk! The only time I even see a fraction of lag is if I reboot, there's about a second and a half of delay before the screen responds. Not a deal-breaker for me.<br />**I could go on and on, but I don't have that much time on my lunch break!<br /><br />Cons:<br />**None.**<br /><br />If you're on the fence about this phone, jump down and try it! Processor is very fast, hardly ever lagged when opening apps or jumping from different home screens, etc. Gaming was great on it too.<br /><br />Downsides<br />- Screen is a tad small at 3.8" for my tastes &amp; not a LED Screen, but that's just my opinion<br />- Directional Pad/Trackball button is pretty much useless since the touch screen on it is great.<br />- Other buttons such as the settings, app drawer, back and search, genius button, etc. are actual physical buttons you must press down and not just touch.<br />- The Genius Button is a neat concept, but in practice it doesn't work up to my expectations and found it frustratingly inaccurate.<br />- KILLER Con is that this phone is only HSPA 14.4 supported, NOT HSPA+ and for those who say it doesn't make a difference are in accurate. My upload &amp; download speeds were way too slow for my expectations when compared to a HSPA+ phone like the Galaxy S 4G. Stuttering music and video is no fun.<br /><br />Upsides<br /><br />- Fast 2nd Gen Snapdragon processor<br />- Front Facing Camera<br />- Dedicated Camera Button with LED Flash<br />- HTC Software is very clean, less buggy then most others and more refined.<br />- Battery lasted much longer then my other phones such as an EVO and vibrant.<br /><br />Bottom Line:<br /><br />I would highly recommend this phone so long as you don't need to stream music or video. I have owned tons of smart phones and just recently switched (last december) to the mytouch 4g. I must commend HTC on building such great phones. The weight of the phone, the camera and display. <br /><br />I must say that the fact that this phone has lots of tmobile stuff on the phone (apps layers etc) it is degrading the performance of the phone. EVERYTHING about this phone is better!<br /><br />PRO's:<br />- FAST processing speed (1000Mhz)!<br />- BETTER screen (brighter, more vivid colors).<br />- FULL web browsing (nothing mobile)... full video streaming, full Flash support.<br />- EXCELLENT call quality (turn volume all the way up though).<br />- WI-FI, Bluetooth, GPS, and HOTSPOT all work great with fast connections.<br />- GOOD battery life (on par with every other smartphone I've owned).<br />- "Touchpad" easy to manuever back and forth with the cursor when composing text messages.<br />- SOLID feel in your hand, excellent construction.<br /><br />CON's:<br />- No keyboard... but this saves you on overall thickness of the phone, and adds to the design. Plus the screen is big, so the virtual keys are a good size. Also supports SWYPE technology.<br /><br />3G service on the HSPA network is fast. If you're on the EDGE network, it is slow. 4G is only available in metropolitan markets so far.
