nbright93 submitted this review of the HTC EVO 4G:

Overall rating: 0 (out of 5)

The phone consistently tells me that I have low storage space when I only have a few apps installed. At times, when I click on, for example, my Google play app, it will take me to my email or my phone history. Internet is very slow unless you're using 4G or WiFi. You can count on having to buy several chargers for this phone because not only does the one that it comes with break easily, every other charger that is sold for this phone will most likely break within 5 months. Then you're stuck paying $20 for another one that you're going to have to replace very soon. A few months after purchasing the phone, the WiFi and 4G would turn on by itself. I called Sprint and they sent me around a hundred different hurdles so I looked up reviews on the internet and found that the problem could be fixed in less than 2 minutes without having to call the service provider. The weather app that comes with the phone is consistently wrong. The battery is absolutely horrible, I understand that smartphones use up a lot of battery but when my brightness is turned all the way down, the phone has been sitting on my night stand the entire day, not a single text, call, notification or anything and when I pick up the phone later on in the day and it tells me there's 2% left, there's a serious problem. Last problem, the phone is slow to react. When I turn the phone on it's side, it takes a while for it to realize that it's been turned on it's side. The phone is slow. Another problem, sometimes texts will not come in until much later than they were initially sent. Also, at times, the phone will not show me that I have a missed call but it will give me a notification that I have a voice mail.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

skhr777 submitted this review of the HTC EVO 4G:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

I have extremely bad experience with this phone. I purchased it brand new from Virgin Mobil. When I received the phone the battery died after a few hours. Tried to charge and re-charge, but the battery was dead. I called Virgin Mobil to issue a refund as I would never trust this phone. To my surprise they were trying all tricks so that I try a different battery. WHY?
Anyways after 1/2 hour I agreed to trying new battery. The batter arrived and I started using it again. After 2.5 weeks the battery died again. I had spread my new phone number everywhere, but my business got on hold for a few hours before I purchased another phone with another company. I will see if I get a refund or not otherwise I will take legal measures to get my $326.00

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

melissazf submitted this review of the HTC EVO 4G:

Overall rating: 3 (out of 5)

When I first purchased this phone I was in LOVE.. I had previously owned a LG optimus, which was good, but the EVO 4g was a huge leap forward as far as camera quality, size, and speed.
After only owning this phone a few months I could no longer charge my battery. Researching on the web led me to sites that explained this is a manufacturer flaw of the phone. The charging port disconnects from the inside of the phone.
I am now forced to use a battery dock to charge my 2 and 3 batteries and constantly switching them out. It's more of a nuisance than anything. What is bad about it is not being able to charge in my car with my stereo unit for navigation.

PROs
Size
Camera Quality
4G capable

Cons
Charging Flaw (BIG CON)
Battery life

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I've had it for about a year and a half now and im still not bored of it! People always ask me to use my phone and think its really cool. The 1 CON I have to give it is the battery life. My sister agrees but then again, she is a teenage girl on her phone 24/7. My sister is also still entertained by the phone and got it the same time as me (Coming from a teenage girl, it must be a fun phone!) If you like things simple, this is NOT the phone for you. I would suggest this phone to a younger audience.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

BlackRoseAngel submitted this review of the HTC EVO 4G:

Overall rating: 3 (out of 5)

I switched to this phone after my iPhone 3GS. In many ways the comparison isn't fair being that Sprints service was 100/1 better than At&t's. I never once lost a call, unless I was in a metal enclosure. But, as far as it by itself goes, I wasn't very impressed with this phone being that it was pushed as the best phone on the market for SOOOO long. Sprints 4G is pretty nonexistent, so I can't really judge based upon that. The 3G was really nice, and consistant, and everywhere in comparison to At&t. The battery was a nightmare! I had the extended battery just to survive like my iPhone could, and even with that I had to charge it nightly. And on top of that it made the phone MASSIVE! As for Android, there were a lot of decent helpful apps, but at the same time a lot of battery sucking leech apps too. They, when compared to their iPhone counter-part, seemed a few updates behind. But, if your willing to wait out the updates, they were great.

Pros:
Sprint's Great Service
Big Screen
Pretty Responsive

Cons:
Terrible Battery
Camera Wasn't Of 8MP Quality(By any standard)
Android Seemed Behind/Unfinished

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

emmadebr submitted this review of the HTC EVO 4G:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

This is the most amazing phone I have ever owned and showed off to friends and family…period! It has been close to a year and still I haven’t been able to put it down, not even for a second. Until today, I am still marveling over its’ abilities and how it beats the pants off a lot of the current phones being offered today (including Apple’s newly released iPhone 4S).

I mean really, “In my book, if there ever was a phone considered to be iconic, the Evo 4G by HTC would be it.”

Why would I opt for an iPhone or its competitors when I could go with the Evo that sports a 4.3 inch display, a 1.3 megapixel user-facing camera for things like video chatting and self-portraits, an 8 megapixel rear camera with dual flash, HD video recording up to 720p for those moments you’d like to capture, a 1 gigahertz single core snapdragon processor for blazing fast processing power and agility, an expansion slot with the ability to accommodate a microSD card to up to 32 gigabytes of external memory, and a built-in kickstand for added convenience when watching movies, personal HD video clips, Netflix, Crackle and a host of other streaming services and much, much, more. Please tell me why?!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

jessiep submitted this review of the HTC EVO 4G:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

This is a great phone by HTC. I wanted to wait awhile before I posted a review. Having the phone now for 6 months here's what I think. The mobile hotspot feature is great along with the Andriod 2.2 Froyo, excellent cameras, love the Sense OS, the resolution is excellent, video conferencing, just so much that this phone offers your bound to love more then just one thing. The MP3 player is great, syncs right up to my iTunes without a problem. You really need to take your time to explore this phone to see what it can do.

A lot of people complain about the battery life here's some tips that helps me. Turn off your Wifi unless your using it, keep the 4G antenna off unless you know your in a 4G area and want to use it. This will keep the phone from trying to constantly connect to 4G or WiFi. Also don't activate the HTC Sense facebook app. Just download and use the regular one from the android market. Also set your weather, news, stocks, email, facebook, refresh feature to update manually when you open the applications. No need to constantly have your phone refreshing with several applications draining your battery life. Just do it manually. If your that interested to see whats going on then just open the app.

I also downloaded AutoRun Killer and by doing what I listed above and with this app my battery last a day in a half to two days easily. Just managed your device and it will last and operate without a problem. A few things I didn't like is the email feature to be honest. Coming from my Blackberry 9650 of course the email feature is a lot better IMO and I didn't like the fact that I had to create a gmail account to access the market. Other then that it's a solid phone and well worth the money if you can swing it.

If your like my wife, she plays a ton of games on it, constantly on her facebook app, the internet and youtube, her battery last about a day. If your a extremely heavy user like her, just invest in an extended life battery and you will be just fine.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

This will be a reflective review after owning this bad boy for that length of time.

PROS

Highly Customizable (even more so /w rooting)
1000 Mhz SnapDragon Processor (1 year later is still plenty quick enough for just about anything)
Big Screen 4.3"
8 mega pixel camera /w HD recoding
Dual LED Flash
Front Mount Camera
Kick Stand
HDMI Mini out
Above Avg. sound & video playback
Above Avg. call quality
Plenty of accessories out there!!

CONS

Battery life was a major issue but after some software updates it has improved, much more so if you use CM7, but it's still the weak point of this otherwise fabulous phone. Actually all smartphones share this common problem of battery life from my experience. (G1, G2, Vibrant, Galaxy S 4G, Epic 4G and MyTouch 4G)

OVERALL

Still using it to this day after just about a year and have no regrets at all. No phone is perfect, so don't kid yourself but all in all this has been a huge favorite. I've retired the G1, G2, Vibrant, Epic 4G, & MyTouch 4G, but CHOOSE to keep using the Evo 4G. Looking forward to buying the Evo 3D it has some pretty big shoes to fill.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Including the iPhone 4... I switch phones weekly because of boredom... I've had this phone since November 2010 it's currently April 2011 and I still love it to death!

I'm gonna rate it with Pros/Cons like I've done every other review...

PROS:
-Big, you can watch your movies on this mini tv lol
-8mp camera clear as hell, though it could be a lil better
-front facing camera so I can video chat my girlfriends hahaha
-kickstand
-lonnnnnng battery life, I think I get around 20 hours before it dies...(rooted)
-big enough to do a lot but still small enough for your pocket
-phone is not too heavy but it feels thick and sturdy

CONS:
-no camera button

see that, the pros outweigh the cons obviously... if you're thinking about getting a phone from sprint and you don't wanna wait/get the 3D then get this, it is the best phone on the market hands down...

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

The phone does feel large in my hand but the beautiful screen makes up for it.

Pros: -Huge beautiful screen
-Awesome camera
-****Flash on the camera****
-TONS of apps
-No lag at all when typing or switching screens

Cons: I only have one beef with this phone and it is the battery life. I have to charge it about 2 times in 24 hours. But keep in mind I am a very heavy user. 200 + texts a day, numerous phone calls, and lots of app usage. I think the short battery life is a small price to pay for this awesome phone. This phone does everything and the battery suffers for it.

All in all this phone is the best on the market. YES IT IS BETTER THAN THE IPHONE ON EVERY ASPECT! (except the battery life).

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

aseaman182 submitted this review of the HTC EVO 4G:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

This is an amazing phone. I was just reading through some of the negative feedback and did what everyone was complaining about. It is now 1:16 in the afternoon and I have had my phone off of the charger since 7 this morning. I still have full battery with the back screen lit on brightest it can, 4g, gps, bluetooth is all running as well. GREAT PHONE! :) It has taken Verizon five months to get the same exact phone (thunderbolt) so it must be good!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

d7mysterio submitted this review of the HTC EVO 4G:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

I went from having an iPHone to the EVO. I've had the original iPhone, the 3GS, and the iphone 4. I went looking at the EVO with a friend and love the layout and the Sense UI overlay on Android. IT sold me right away. I was able to get all the apps I had from my iphone from the Market Place so I didnt feel a sense of lost.

The size is great especially for those with vision problem(dont laugh). Texting was great with swype technology; Facebook integration was awesome via Friend Stream widget. I could answer all replies and updates via the widget or even look via my address book. Notificiation was not intrusive as the iphone and being able to lock my text message, pics, and email was perfect from prying eyes. I really love the phone and would recommend it to anyone.

PROS
* Size,
* Notifications,
* Sense UI, Swype technology,
* Ability to lock any application (Lock App)
* 4G Speed in area where available
* Changeable themes
* Sprint Radio
* Calendar Widget (a must for those in corporate. Calendar can by sync via Google Sync

CON
* Battery life really stinks. iphone leads by far on this over any phone.
* Download on Youtube is slow over 3G

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

keepfit7 submitted this review of the HTC EVO 4G:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

...if not the best!!! The Evo has been available since June of 2010 and it is still one of the best after all this time. I love the BIG screen, Android platform takes getting used to however once you get accustomed to its features it is great at multitasking and it supports Adobe Flash which for me is a BIG deal. Google Navigation is just like your car's (giving turn-by-turn voice directions) and it is free on Sprint! Android has most of the Apps I use so no complaints there. The 8 mega pixel camera w/flash is great!!! Sprint's Everything Data with Any Mobile Anytime at $69.99 w/$10 extra for 4G doesn't hurt your wallet. I'm in Honolulu and we have 4G here however coverage seems to be spotty-sometimes blazingly fast and sometimes have to settle for 3G however 3G is fast enough most times. I have had the Evo since September of 2010 and the worst part has been the battery so I purchased a spare however this week I have noticed the battery lasting most of the day the past couple of days so maybe there was an Android update dowmloaded to the Evo this past weekend. If the battery does last longer now then the Evo really doesn't have any flaws now. I'll probably stick with the Evo due to Flash support and BIG screen. As long as the iPhone doesn't support Flash, I'm more than satisfied with the HTC Evo-I think you will be too...

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

So far the EVO G4 is the best phone I have ever had, I love the calendar app which is a lot bigger than the Hero and easier to read and thats because of the 4.3 in screen on the EVO which is great, other than the battery life it is flawless, just get an extra battery or the extended battery and your set.

Pro's
Phone is great just like it is.

Con's
Only con I have is battery life could be better.

I highly recommend this phone!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

dsmmsd18 submitted this review of the HTC EVO 4G:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I've had this phone for around 4 months now after switching from the PALM PRE, I must say out of Android phones, this is DEFINITELY the best android phone.

The EVO 4G is fully loaded, even after being released a while ago, its still at the leading edge of technology.

PROS:
-Good Build Quality
-SPRINT (Best price and network around)
-Android OS(very customizable / a lot of Widgets)
-Super Large Screen and High resolution
-Excellent camera
-Bright Flash (good for a flashlight also)
-Great Call Quality
-Loud Speakerphone
-LED notification
-Kickstand is useful
-Front Facing Camera
-FAST!! everything operates very fast
-WiFi works great
-4G (where available although it really isn't much different from 3G)
-3.5MM jack

CONS:
-Battery life could be better (if you know how to tweak Android it will last longer)
-$10 A month add-on for Sprint (still overall cheaper than any other carrier though)
-The overall phone size takes some getting used to

Overall this device is highly recommended. My next phone however would be the HP Palm Pre 3 (if it comes out for Sprint) not Android. I miss WebOS, Multi-tasking was unbeatable on WebOS. It would be nice if the iPhone 4 came out for Sprint Also, but I would still get the HP Palm Pre 3.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

LadyMc submitted this review of the HTC EVO 4G:

Overall rating: 0 (out of 5)

In self classification, I'm a technology LOVER! The EVO came very highly recommended by the man that manages all of the phones for our business, come to find out as a result of this website, which has led me to write this review.
I got the EVO in 12/2010. Coming from a Blackberry, at first I thought the on screen keyboard was my problem, a user problem, that would just take time to get used to, but it just doesn't work well. If two incoming texts come in at the same time, the phone locks up. If the phone is in sleep mode, and it rings, the screen will wake up, but it won't let me answer it. I hard restart this phone at least three times a day. I would love to put pro's and con's about this phone in this review, but I can't think of one positive thing about the EVO, so I took it back to the store, and they aren't helping me.This is partially my fault. I kept it more than thirty days, before deciding that it was either a lemon, or a lost cause as a whole. I was too determined to figure out the problem on my own. My husband works out of the country, and one of the main selling points of the phone from the store was that it had a camera in the front, and I could use it to Skye with my husband.. He would call on Skype, it would show him calling, but not let me answer it. Then I found through research that Skype has an exclusive contract with another provider, and this isn't even possible. I realize the provider is not responsible for third party applications, and if I didn't before, I do now.. (sigh) but it was the main selling point for the phone! The problem with being a technology lover is that where there is love, I have now discovered the opposite is also possible.. I actually HATE this phone. I've never spent this much money on a phone.. the battery life is not good, we have to pay extra every month for service, and we aren't even in a 4G area, but most importantly it's just not dependable. IF it worked I would like the apps there's a pro.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
