OK

Jan 28, 2008 by nlittleadmin

This phone is jam-packed full of features. It has all the old and new features that exist. It is not hard on the eyes and has a great keypad for texting, however I just hope you don't plan on dropping the phone...

PROS:

Features, MP3 Player, Look, price

CONS:

Very fragile, breaks easily at hinges.

Like it!

Every phone has its pros and cons but this phone by far has more pros! I like the look of it [when it is clean]lol and it has loud volume. If you are a guy and text a lot like me the buttons are hard to text on!!!! Overall a good phone.

Pros-
Call Quality
Volume
Can read texts from the outside
Big Screens
Bright Screens
Better than my old razor!!

Cons-
BATTERY LIFE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finger print MAGNET!
Camera Sucks
Can only record 15 seconds of video if you want to send it to someone...

Not Happy with the 8600

Dec 26, 2007 by sarah2323

I am not happy with this phone. When I went to Verizon back in late January of this past year, I was told, get this, that the enV was out of stock and they would NOT be getting more since Verizon was probably going to be discontinuing them. If I like to text, this 8600 was the way to go.

I get the phone. The battery life is not great. So this past summer/fall, I went back to one of their stores and they offered to get me a new battery - so they did. Now the same thing is happening a few months later. I feel that the battery drains pretty quickly when I use it. It could have a full charge and then I use it to do say, a dozen text messages and the thing will be completely dead before the evening is over.

The camera takes horrible pictures too.

I have at least 1 dropped call a day. I am just worried that at some point, I am actually going to need the phone because I have a flat tire or something and I won't have any signal and I won't have any battery life. I also feel that it says a lot that Verizon no longer sells this phone at all.

Which is good so when I go back and ask them to see what the issue is and they say it's the phone, they can't give me the same phone.

This is the phone that should be called the chocolate~!

Dec 21, 2007 by veriZon123

After having three slivers Verizon offered to replace it with a chocolate, or another sliver. Since I absolutely hate Motorola and have always had bad luck with them yet I still manage to think this will be the Motorola that will work and yet it doesn't. So anyways After going through three slivers and three chocolates, I decided to ask what other phones I could get since slivers and chocolates just were NOT working! Verizon said I could get a razor (NO) or pay 50 dollars and get an 8600. Obvioulsy I did not want a razor and I check and this phone had a pretty good rating so I thought what the heck and got it! I actually really like it!

Pros:
-loud ringtones (almost too loud, what used to be high on my other phones is low on this phone!)
-Very Strong Vibrate!
-Large front screen and inside screen
-Being able to read texts on the outside
-Memory card slot!
-I really like the verizon UI on this phone
-L@@Ks!
-great speakers
-easy to text on
-great reception!

Cons
- hard to flip open one handed (the silver chrome accent makes it top heavy!)
- slippery!
- THE STUPID memory card cover thing always falls out and just hangs there
-the FINGERPRINTS! (but I knew that beforehand! no pun intended!)
-The ringtones that come with it Zzzz....
-The camera- I am still confused. I can only get it to take good pictures if I put it in night mode, but then it takes good pictures!

OK
-battery life
-charger area
-size

Overal a good phone! I just wish it was easier to open!

Good features but not such a good phone

Dec 10, 2007 by airb0sss

I've had this phone for about 6 months. I use it about 2000 minutes per month plus some txt. I travel throughout the US. I bought it because I was happy with my last LG phone and this one had new features that I liked. Verizon is my carrier.

Pros: Good camera for a phone, looks good, fits my hand and I can txt easily without looking, thin, good display, easy to use menu, excellent contact menu, easy to retrieve email, 2 gig memory card is easy to remove and replace

Cons: outgoing audio is terrible- everyone complains and says "what" over and over (I have complained to Verizon about this several times- they say it's okay- actually it isn't okay), the speaker audio is too low, there is one jack for everything and it's a flat plug that I have to fuss with every time I plug something in, can't use the charger and earphones at the same time, battery life is short, txt in-box is too small, sometimes the MP3's just start playing by themselves

If the audio were better, I would recommend this phone. I wish the phone portion of this device were better. I like the rest of it.

Horrible Phone

I'm on my third LG 8600. When I first got it, it would not play anything on the mp3 card, alltel replaced it then one day I woke up and both the main and front displays were blank white; alltel replaced it again, now I'm back to a device that only sometimes plays mp3's off of the memory card.

Not if your a texter!

Buyers beware: Yes, it's thin but this phone has completely flat buttons! What this means is if you want to eventually press a button, with muscle memory, without looking at the phone give up! Not to mention the phone does get fingerprints like a moofoo so you must get the leather case to avoid complete insanity, which completely deviates from the point of having a thin phone because the leather case makes it "not so thin anymore". However, with the leather case it makes it so much more difficult to press the flatt buttons. It's like spelling your name on a blank piece of paper with your eyes closed and spinning around till you were as dizzie as Burton on crack!
P.S. If you're a girl, it might be worth the con's to be able to stick the slimness in your back pocket...so I'm told by a hottie.

Best Phone Ever!! Verizon is the Best!!

This phone has so many hidden features.

1.) You can see your incoming texts on the front screen.

2.) It has text-to-speech. For example: If sommeone is calling you it will say the following for example:

"Call from 614-794-2007"
"Call from Restricted"
"Call from Home"
"New message from Susan"

Once it says that, it will then ring.

3.) You can view missed calls on the outside screen. Also as you talk on blutooth, the persons picture stays up.

4.) When you are in the camera and camcorder, the people you are taking the picture of or recording can see it on the front of the phone. That is better than seeing Verizon Wireless.

Here are some thins i personally like:

1.) Nice blutooth

2.) Loud Speaker- Nice for mP3

3.) You can make your own ringtones

4.) Nice external screen

5.) Nice menu- not like all other same verizon menus

6.) Fast Get it now and v-cast and mobile web

7.) You can set videos as wallpapers, when the phone closes, and when people call.

8.) Touch sensitive on front- hides when you are not using it.

9.) When phone rings or when you recieve text messages, it can ring and vibtare.

10.) A lot of memory

11.) Clear camcorder

12.) Good vibrate, but not loud.Perfect for me in school. By the way im a freshman and techers never here it. LOL

13.) Okay battery

Here is what i dont like:

1.)I really dont like anything. Its just the fact the i have to really careful because the front is covered with glass, and im scared to have other things in my pocket that might scratch my phone. So i usually have my phone in one, and everything else in the other.

What other people may say:

1.) Fingerprints- That is not a big deal. Just wipe everytime after you close the phone.

2.) Low speakerpphone- Doesn't bother me because i have blutooth. Just get blutooth.

Overall the best phone verizon has released. Better than Env and others. Choose this phone!!!!

Best Phone By LG Yet

Feb 22, 2007 by zschulman

This is definitely the best phone created by lg yet. Its also the most recent but who cares. I had a vx6100 by lg before this but i felt it was time to upgrade

Pros- Slim, Sleek and Shiny Black, 1.3 mega-pixel camera and video camera, great mp3 quality songs, microsd compatible, vcast, and much much more

Cons- Fingerprints and flat keypad, thats all.

The best part about this phone for me is the mp3 player and taking videos and using a microsd card to put it on my computer.

I advise you to buy a micro sd card if you are thinking about getting this phone to put music, videos, ringers, and pictures on your phone and from your phone to your computer.
