There is nothing else like it...

Dec 10, 2006 by bleekerbaby

This is the perfect phone for me. I love the size and weight of the phone, and the full QWERTY keyboard. I used to own the Treo, and I always thought that phone was a little too much for my needs, but the 9900 is perfect.

PROS

Size
Weight
Screens
Speedy Menus
Speaker quality
Camera Quality...WOW!
Bluetooth quality (no crackle, even when phone is 10' away)

CONS

Can only use speakerphone w/phone open (no biggie, more likely than not, I will want to use the speakerphone w/ the phone open)

Placement of Spacebar (I'll get used to it)

Good job Verizon and LG!

This Phone Has Blown Me Away

Dec 5, 2006 by tnj777

WOW! I am really impressed with this phone. I've had it now for almost a week and I can't stop talking about this phone. I will list first my CONS first and then my PROS.

CONS
-Camera sticks out past the battery area preventing the keyboard from laying flat. I'm going to get an extended battery and see what happens with that.
-Outside screen is a tad bit on the small side.
-The volume and picture buttons are in an awkward place so you have to open the phone all the way back in order to access those buttons.
-Email button (great feature but not for $19.99 wireless sync. It should just connect to your email through Mob. 2.0.

PROS
-2.0 Megapixel Camera - OMG!
-Making Videos on this thing is mind boggling especially since you can record up to an hour. I've already made 8 movies since last week and put them on my computer.
-I have a 1GB Micro Card and it worked as soon as I put it in from the package and I able to put it into my computer immediately to copy the videos I had on them to my computer in about 30 seconds. Also, i put the card in my printer and was able to view and print my pictures also.
-Sound and clarity are amazing.
-Stereo speakers are incredible especially when you playback a video you make or someone calls and you have a ringtone.
-Love the option of choosing which UI you want to use. The old VZW is still there but you can you use the other one!
-Love the option of making my videos my wallpaper. People were in awe to see moving wallpapers of my nieces and nephew.
-When I did a search for Bluetooth devices, it found both my M 500 headset and my computer. That blew me away!
-The keyboard is great. The keys are spaced far enough apart that you are not mistakenly hitting keys you don't want. There are definitely more things that I can list but you get the point.

It's not 100% perfect but what phone is. It has way more than enough features for you to be satisfied especially since it's just a phone! :)

Best Phone I've Owned

Aug 17, 2007 by laurel25

I've had this phone for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it. I was having a hard time deciding between this phone and a PDA/Smartphone. I wanted something which could handle multiple numbers, email addresses, and street addresses, keep track of my calendar and appointments, and offer a wide range of multimedia functions, but I didn't need full smartphone capabilities (Word, Excel, etc.). I'm happy to say that this phone is perfect!

PROS -
-Can keep addresses in the Note section for contacts
-Calendar can keep track of appointments that repeat from daily to yearly
-Screens are really bright and crisp
-Camera takes decent pictures for a phone
-Can put tons of ringtones & wallpapers on very easily using Bitpim
-Quick menus
-QWERTY keyboard is awesome - keys are spaced really nicely and are easy to use
-Speakers sound really decent
-Reception is good and calls sound really clear - have also been told by others they can't tell I'm on a cell phone
-Micro SD card slot is easily accessible, so putting pictures/music on the card is super easy if you have a USB card reader

CONS -
-Can initially seem rather big compared to other phones, but you get used to the size
-Have to put ringtones into the file system rather than just into the ringers section through Bitpim
-Camera lens cover would be nicer if it opened automatically when camera is activated
-Outside screen is small, but you end up using the inside screen for just about everything so it's not a huge deal

9900 (enV)

Jul 20, 2007 by qingzhuliu

I got this phone last Friday, and I decided to keep it. I also got a 2GB micro SD card.

Pro's:
1) size is perfect for me, and I feel it solid in my hands.
2) call quality is very good.
3) GUI is easy to use.
4) 2M camera is very good.
5) sound quality of playing mp3 is good enough for a phone.
6) I really like keyboard.

Con's:
1) vibration is a little weak.
2) external display can't be turned on all the time (unlike my 6100).

Notes:
1) I turned off enV, because I don't care about it at all.
2) I don't care too much about ring tones either (I downloaded several, and sent them to my phone via vzwpix.com)

Overall:
I like this phone.

En V love

I had the V before and now I have the en V and I love it!! This phone packs up a bunch of delightful features in a very cool lightweight. Good job LG on that one!

short battery life but excellent phone!

I love this phone! It's so cool. At first when I saw this, I was like "I'm not buying it, looks too fat". Then I saw the older model.

I just got my phone like 3 days ago. I ran down the battery when I got it. I had to charge it 2 days ago and now it's dead again. I really don't know what is up with my phone. Seems like the battery life doesn't last very long.

My husband got the exact phone. On the first day it frooze on him. On the second day it wouldn't wake up. We had to exchange it for another one. The second phone seems fine, nothing wrong with it.

Other than the battery life, this phone is great for texting. I got a 1GB micro san disk for it and its great for pictures and music!

Great Phone!!!

No phone is ABSOLUTELY perfect, but this phone comes pretty close. The things keeping me from giving it a 5 are listed below. The phone is surprisingly thin for a keyboard phone, it is EXTREMELY easy to use, and it looks very sleek. I would highly recommend it.

PROS:
-Thin
-Great screen quality for both screens
-Easy to use (even if you haven't used the original V like me)
-Awesome camera w/ flash / great quality
-Good sound and service quality (compared to T-Mobile for Phoenix)
-Both key pads have great size (better than my last phone, the samsung t319)

CONS:
-Inside screen is a tad bit small
-Some text is quite small
-Even though I don't really care about UI that much, it could have had some better preset designs
-You are going to have to download ringtones if you want some decent ones

Overall, after just a few days of use with this phone, I am VERY impressed. I was worried about getting it because of what some people said about the original V and the problems it had. This phone apparently doesn't have any of those issues. So if you are thinking about switching to Verizon, or switching phones, consider this one.

Great phone, thank god!

This is a great phone. I think that it is the only good phone from verizon.
Pros: it allows you to switch formats from vcast menu to ui. The front and main menus can be different pictures. I love the record your own sounds feature. the graphics are great. I love the QWERTY menu. The bluetooth is fantastic. And the reception is great. I love the set your ringer ID feature. I works great. I like that the charger at the bottom is protected just like the micro SD card slot is. The weight and size of the phone is good. And I love the camera. It takes great picture. Some people haven't explored the phone enough because the keyguard can be shut off, and the menu can be changed to your style. Overall this is the best phone I have ever seen.
Con: I have no complains about the phone, only that you have to pay alot for the email and navigator features, but that isn't the phone, that is verizon.

Good phone, WEIRD BUG (read this one)

This phone's about as good as it gets. I've used quite a few phones, this one is by far the best I've had. Unless you need a PDA phone, this thing has everything you could want or need... music, video (record up to an hour), 2 mega-pixel camera, bluetooth with pretty good profile support, nice qwerty keyboard (easy to use, good click on buttons, nicely spaced so no fat-fingering), IM, email, good contact list (each contact can have multiple phone numbers, email address, specific ringtone, picture ID, and a "note"), VCAST, etc etc etc.

Now, The only reason this isn't a 5? Try a little test, you might find this strange: Get the Verizon pouch that holds the phone vertically (up and down, not side-to-side), the one with the flap that is held magnetically. Now, turn on the keyguard on your phone. Next, slide the phone into the pouch. Notice that little flicker on the screen? After you see the flicker, check the status of your keyguard. IT'S OFF. Something inside the front part of the phone must have some sort of reaction to the magnet in the pouch, because it turns the keyguard off EVERY TIME YOU SLIDE THE PHONE IN OR OUT. What in the HECK is that all about? If you don't have this problem, please LET ME KNOW so I can trade my phone for a different one (I tried a few at the VZW store and they all did it, maybe a bad batch or something). I found that if I put the phone in "backward" (i.e. with the front screen facing away from the magnet), the keyguard stays on. But this is annoying, I can't plug in my charger with the phone in the pouch when it's backward, the hole doesn't line up right.

So, other than a weird quirk, this phone's a kick-butt gadget, and it works very, very well. I highly recommend it... just don't get the magnetic pouch for this thing, it's extremely annoying to constantly wonder if my keyguard is on or not.

Verizon has done great with the 9900!!

Dec 1, 2006 by Penguin

this is by far one of the most amazing phones i have used, i have had it for 2 days now and love it. the graphics and auto zoom with the amera are awesome, the delay isnt bad. the screen is much more clear than the 9800. and it has a lens cover!!! another amazing thing is you can send pix messages to the phone and save them as your rig tones. there hasnt been a phone in a while since the lg 8000.

for this one i dont have any cons about it.

but pro all the way!! this is a great investment and has been released at a great price!!!
