Do not purchase an ENV phone

Oct 10, 2007 by flamencoguy

I purchased this dang phone because I thought it was cool. Six weeks later the phone crashed; Verizon gave me new one and two weeks later the same thing happened. Wanna guess? yes, they gave me a new one. Two months later the dang thing would not pass the boot screen. I have had three LGENV in three months. Verizon keeps replacing it however they will not let you exchange for a different brand. My opinion? I hate LG, they should stick to refrigerators and leave the cell phone market to people who can make them. Buy an ENV at your own risk. Don't say that I did not warn you.
Very Frustrated user.

Not what I expected...

Dec 9, 2006 by Sweetpea6497

Ok so...I had a LG 6100 and it was time to upgrade. Read the reviews HERE for the EnV, decided to give it a shot. Ive had the phone for three days, heres what I know so far.

PROS:
Appearance wise, the phone is sweet. Everyone I know thinks its AWESOME.
Inside screen is huge and has awesome clarity.
Camera is the best Ive seen yet on a cell, pix come back awesome.
Two speakers on the inside have great sound quality for music.
Call quality is great too. Everyone can hear me perfectly clear, and I can hear them great too...
I can use my old 2.5 headset with this phone, but it IS bluetooth capable so, thats an option Ill explore later.

NOW, onto the cons.

CONS:
Keyguard kicks in after 5 seconds and drives me nuts.
Camera takes an extra 2 seconds to auto focus which kinda makes it hard to take pix until ya get used to it.
Menus are a bit confusing. Somethings work with the phone open, others only work with it closed.
Ive tried to assign specific ringtones to my contacts and it will NOT take affect. Not sure what thats about, contacting Verizon techs tomorrow with the issue.
Reception doesnt seem to be as good with this phone as it was with my LG6100 (service through Verizon in Lebanon, Ohio) Ive already have several dropped calls, where as with my old phone that rarely happened and I had it two YEARS.
Weird lil flap hangs off the charging port, not sure why that is.

All in all, this phone is pretty cool. If youre looking for a phone with a lot of buttons and features, this is probably the one for you. If youre just in it for a sleek phone used for basic calling, okay pix and decent tones, Id go with the LG8600 instead. I think Ill end up trading in my EnV before the 15 day trial period is up for that 8600....

not that great!!

ok i had this phone for about a wekk, really didnt like it, i will have to the 9800 is alot better!! the 9900 is flatter but wider, the 9800 is bigger and smaller side to side!! the 2mp camera is ok ,but the 9800 takes just as good pics as the 2mp!! when the flip is open it hard to hold or take pictures, unlike the 9800!! so get the 9800, its better that the 9900

This Is Ok.

well i got this in return for the 9800. i dont like it like the other one. the music player is too loud and it always goes off unexpectedly. the vibrate is way to loud, and the flash sucks. but other than that its ok. better than a razr or krzr. but im not gonna be with them any longer.

Ick.

I personally think that the enV2 is better.

This cell phone looks like it's a camera on the back, which is kinda wierd.

Not the Best Phone

Sep 10, 2008 by TechieGirl

It isn't the best phone, but it definitely is not the worst. I love text messaging, with about 5,000 texts a month :-D so the full QWERTY keyboard comes in handy. But it's also a really bulky phone. Here's a list of pros and cons:
Pros:
Full keyboard
cute colors
good memory

Cons:
very chunky
I personally hate how the keyboard is set up
Not too good reception
the buttons are very close together
not a lot of options
not very good volume

I returned this phone for the Samsung u740 which I'm extremely happy with, right now :)
I do not necessarily recommend the EnV.

~The screen constantly goes out,
~catches viruses easily
~ Am constantly charging it

Ok my first comment about the enV. Its a good all around phone I'll start with the good stuff first.

good: inside screen is really clear,
battery life is awesome switching from the chocolate
speakerphone is real loud and clear
qwerty board for all the turbo texters lol
camera is awesome
phone reception is great, worked where my chocolate didn't
vibrate is real strong, works good in my line of work

cons: you cant put a separate alerts for text messages, so everyone has the same text alert...boo this sucks
i cant use my chocolate ear buds with it even though they use the same connection
front screen is kinda small, but its really bright
the vid camera is not that great

i really recommend this phone though!

Very IFFY about this phone

Feb 5, 2008 by optiquest

When i first received this phone it was great. Ive used it before when friends came over and took a look at it no problems. The way this phone handles all the cool features to it are great and thats when the problems started. After having this phone for the first 2 weeks some how the front display (when phone is closed) cracked. But its not cracked on the outside but more on the inside of it. I tried to see if maybe i hit it up against anything but the outside of the phone is flawless so how this ever happen is a mystery to me. The best part about this phone is the keyboard for text msgs. Very easy and i love the camera since basically takes pictures just as good as a regular camera.

Pros: Keyboard for texting
Great Camera
Great Colors
Tons of features from LG
Loud speaker
You can record up to an hour with the
video feature

Cons: Front displayed broke way too easy
Phone mysteriously shuts off when ever
it wants
Can only hold 50 text msg at a time

Could be a great but i have cell phones (mostly audiovox) where i have had them over 5 years with no problems. Ive only had this phone for less then a month and already am troubled by it. Unfortunately i didn't take the insurance (since ive never had a problem with my audiovox phones, 2 of them) so im stuck with it for 2 years. If you are going to get this phone def get the insurance or just avoid phone all together. My first attempt at an LG phone and im not happy

Jealous Much?

Dec 8, 2007 by jene10e

I just got my phone yesterday from the Verizon Wireless Store inside Circuit City in Baton Rouge, LA.

I love this phone! I waited a good 24 hours before reviewing this phone. I had a LG 8300 for over a year before I took the plunge to get this one.

Pros:
Very stylish
Great volume
Keys are amazing
Signal strength is fantastic
Screen size is perfect
Fits in my hand very well
Display is super sharp
VZW Navigator is included!

Cons:
NONE!

Bottom line: Get this phone!

-J =)
