Not good

Dec 20, 2006 by neozz1

PLEASE READ IF YOU PLAN TO BUY THIS PHONE!!

I bought this phone on the 8th of December on-line and got it a couple days later in the mail, originally the touch screen was a bit of an annoyance but after a while it just something you get used to. I honestly had no complaints until about the 19th of December when the phone started freaking out. In one day everything went wrong at once;
the screen stop lighting up completely when the phone was slid open,
the touch screen buttons would stop working suddenly or just one of them would stop working,
I would tap the button to scroll down through something and it would just scroll non stop by itself until it decided to stop,
I would hit the contact button ONCE and the recent calls list would open and it would call the most recent one!
then when I would slide it open it would automatically open the most recent call and call it without me pushing a button,
and finally when I would be looking for a contact when the contact button did work it would stop on one and call it.

Now some may say that the button sensitivity was just not set good but that is not true at all, it did all of the above on every sensitivity setting there was.

THE CALL TO VERIZON
Further more I called verizon customer service to find out what I could do about the problem. The lady that answered did not here of any issues so I asked nicely if I could speak to a tech that works on the phones and she went and found one for me. Here is the best part, the tech on the phone said he has the phone and his does the same exact thing! Then he informed me that I should probably not expect a replacement to be any better because he thinks it's not just my phone that is doing it.

Needless to say I went to verizon store to replace it, while I was there I played with one on display and it was also starting to show the same issues I was having. I did end up replacing it with a Razr and had no issues at all so far.

Amazing Phone with a SpeakerPHone!!!

I used this phone for about 3 months and I must say it is amazing. If you go to verizon they can update you software tat gives you a speakphone option when your in a call. So now all the people harping on the phone because it doesn't have a speak phone have nothing to complain about. The update also fixes the battery life issue. It nearly triples it. I live off of my phone I mean I use around 100 text messages and am on the phone for like 2 hours a day and listen to music. the phone can easily last me 2 to 3 days that is turly amazing. The only con i have found with this phone is that the touch keys are close together and sometimes I hit the Ok key instead of the right directoinal. Besides that this phone is amazing!!

Everyone loves chocolate!

Just got it and love it!
But.....
>the vibrating feature is extremely weak
>the factory ringtones are awful
>can barely hear the purchased rintones

However....
>the new cherry has speaker phone
>clear calls
>great battery life
>vibrate + ring together or seperate
>camera quality is phenomenol.beter than razr
>the touch sensor feature is convenient
>alarm feature is better than Razr (you can actually have "alarm only" and other calls are silent)
>exremely durable [ive dropped it already :/
>can record convos
>a feature that calculates tips
>voice commands: call, text, go to menu, memo
>mp3 music quality is excellent(not ringtone ones though)

This is a great phone but it does have some minor gliches. I was dreaminG for this phone and when i finally got it it met my expectatiions. Now i have had it 4 about 2 months and it is an awsome device here are the pros, cons
The Color choice is easy i recomend getting white OR black the red on red is terrible and the mint just doesnt match the chocolate I personally like the black a little better than white only because i think red on black looks very good

Pros:
Awsome Signal, never dropped one call in heavy usage in LA county area.

One of the Most Beautiful design on an American phone but European/GSM version looks a little better and is little sleeker

Keypad locks automatically during call unlike gsm version

Touch keypad but takes some time getting used to
stereo BT works Flawlessly

Now for the cons:
Speakerphone can be louder

Scratch/fingerprint magnet

Camera is Only OK

BT is still mostly blocked Dam verizon

Mint Chocolate

Nov 26, 2006 by Honda96

I just bought the LG Mint Chocolate and I love it so far... I read most of the other comments and mine are similar. I love the color of my phone everybody looks at me and you really don't see a green phone around. I like how its like a mp3 player you can listen to your music while you do anything and it stops while you get a phone call and the music comes back on when you end your call. I added the speaker phone software and i love it. Its really loud and its better than the lg vx8600.

Pros: Loud speaker phone, Color, Touch pad, Music player etc....

Cons: Sometimes the touch pad don't respond at the first touch but that kinda raps it up.

This phone rocks

Well I just got the chocolate phone today..I was debating after reading the good and bad reviews but since there wasnt any other phones i really liked i decided to go for it. I mean i got 15 days i can return it but i doubt it will.. If i think any different about this after a week, i'll repost.. The touch screen isnt as bad as some may say..you can choose how sensitive you want it to be.It does take some getting used to especially since all other phones are all buttons but for me i got used to it pretty quick. As for the clarity of the phone itself when talking to someone its good. I havent had a problem. .The camera is awesome.. My last phone was a vx8000 and the picture would jump after taking it but with the chocolate the picture is crystal clear, not bad at all for a phone. The only real downfalls which arent a huge deal is there arent many wall papers..The ring tones are "ok" but nothing to brag about. The good definitly out weigh the bad of this phone..I would reccomend this phone to anyone who wants more in a phone. its not for everyone but if your into something different and like to be up to date with technology...this is for you. MP3 player too, you cant beat all the good things in a cell phone...

BEAUTIFUL!

I just got the White one and it's beautiful. The touch buttons take some time to get used to, but it's an awesome feature! It looks like my old iPod I used to have back in '04. The reception is amazing, everything in the UI is fast customizable and easy to use. If you have doubts, just buy it and try it for yourself. I did, and I don't regret it.

Hit or Miss

Nov 8, 2006 by Anarkie

Ok just for reference, my chocolate is on my second line that my fiancee carries. I have alot of use of both of our phones (mine's an 8300).
To start, I'll say that getting a good model was a hit or miss experience. On our 4th phone (and third battery) it finally seems right. There were definitely some bad batteries, as the first 2 we got wouldn't last a full 8 hours with maybe 1 hour of use. Now it'll last all day with over 2 hours use with no issue.
Now as for the phone itself, it is a good phone. the QVGA resolution screen is beautiful. The touch sensitive controls DO have a learning/comfort curve, but act well once you've got it down, and the sensitivity adjusted for your preferences. The MP3 on this one is incredible, especially the ability to play music as you navigate the phone, surf the web, etc...
Well here's my Pros and Cons take:

Pros:
Beautiful screen
Awesome MP3 player
pretty nice wow factor
nice EVDO data speeds
good call clarity

Cons:
battery life
Signal pull not as strong as many other phones we've had
Sound Quality not as good as the 8300 (should have been given stereo speakers)

Overall:
A good phone and a great toy. As long as you get one with a good battery you should be happy.

AMAZING JUST WOW

This phone is the coolest phone that ever was created! It's not just that it's a good sized phone Mp3 comes in the two best colors, It's also designed very uniquely. The only thing that SOME people might view as a "con" is the fact that it does not enable speaker-phone. But to be totally honest, the volume raises so high that you can be away from your phone and feel that it's actually ON speaker-phone! Everything else about it is great. I just can't get enough of it! I LOVE IT!

lg chocolate

I absolutely love the lg chocolate. and it's carrier Verizon Wireless. i just got the lg chocolate yesterday. and it's just great! the design is very sleek and small. i previously owned the samsung d807 for the cingular service. it was sleek also, but when you hold the lg chocolate next to it, you notice the width of the chocolate is smaller the the samsung, but a little thicker. i used to have cingular' but i love verizon so far. the chocolate is easy tp use. i give it a 4.5 out of 5 because of the touch pads and the vedio quality. on the front of the chocolate is the touch sensitive pad. which even though you can change the sensitivity i notice my finger accidentally touching another button. but i think not pressing down is cool. a thing i like about the touch pad, is that you can slide it down and the sensors and screen goes off. you can use it down too, if you unlock it. the video and picture quality is good. but the sound on the video sucks!!!! it dosn't even soung like me!! and i have to hold my ear up to it to hear it!!! the screen quality is excellent, and so is the battery. the screen does attract finger prints easily, but i love this new cell phone!!!!!
