razr

Mar 22, 2007 by hmm158

this is the worst phone i have ever owned. i was so excited to have it- it is slim and so cool and unique and i wanted it really bad. but i wish i had never got it and now i'm in another 2 year contract.

i type faster than the phone

i dial faster than the phone

sometimes i push buttons and they never even register in the phone

the battery dies five times a day. it literally stays on the charger. i make one phone call and i have lost at least one bar of battery or two bars.

constantly drops calls or freezes or both, simultaneously

i just want everyone to be aware that if you plan on using this phone for more than three or four calls a day, the battery will not last and you will have to charge it more often

also- its not just this phone that was messed up- verizon replaced it for me but the new phone is just as bad. but it is still a sweet looking phone...

The razor is Great (if you love throwing money away)!

The Moto V3M is by far the biggest peace of junk i've ever owned. On mine the software kept locking up on me every time I used the sprint music store, my contact book, and when trying to send text's. I thought the sound on the razor was dissapointing too, it sounded like I was talking in to a tin can so people didn't hear me well, and when listening to someone else talk, it had an echo. Also if your gonna use it as an MP3 player, don't bother, you can't get the sound loud enough. Oh and if you like to use your phone, this is not the phone for you being that it took me 3 fully charged batteries to get through the day. If your thinking of getting this phone, please save your money and save your self the aggrivation.

I Don't Know Why People Buy This Phone

Jan 31, 2007 by toots333

I just signed up for service with Alltel and I decided to give the Razor v3m a shot. What a mistake! I honestly have nothing good to say about this phone. It's a trendy phone that everyone has and that's about it. I honestly don't understand why people want this phone. It's features are sooooo limited. The camera is terrible, there is a delay when loading anything and everything including the phone book, the front LCD screen can't be changed to something different than the internal LCD screen, the front LCD screen has terrible color quality, the menu set up stinks, and last but not least, when talking it's like talking into a speaker phone. The only semi cool thing about this phone is the key pad. Needless to say, I went back the very next day and exchanged it for the Samsung u520. I am much happier now.

Where is my receipt?

Just Want to throw it outside while driving down the road. Badly Misplaced control buttons are located on the side of the phone (where you hold the damned thing) ..Hello, these buttons change things!!

Sometimes the mic works..sometimes not.. Cannot review missed calls at ALL..just says "unknown" ..not cool in my biz..Would only recommend to my competition; as I am in Sales and need to be "In-Touch" 24-7....What a waste of 300+ dollars! I also want to meet the literary genius who wrote the stupid manual...Could you be more vague??? WORTHLESS PIECE OF ___! Off to buy a new phone! Had this for 3 weeks and aughh!

RAZR: The Ford Mustang of cell phones

Nov 9, 2006 by srqkiosk

I got my v3m Razr through Verizon Wireless. I don't see why everyone likes this phone so much. Everyone has one, and theres plenty of cooler phones out there with the same features. I was really excited when I heard Verizon was going to be carrying a version of the Razr that finally supported minisd flash cards. The phone, however, didn't live up to my expectations. The interface is unbearably slow (it freezes sometimes too...grrr), and the media player is even slower. To top it off, Vcast is a complete joke. My friends that WORK for verizon wireless say the same thing. Heres a quick look at the pros and cons:

Pros:
-Thin and light...Razrs always have been
-MiniSD card slot
-Large screen
-Good reception
-Its pretty cheap (99$ with 50$ rebate)
Cons:
-Unbearably slow interface
-Speakerphone is a JOKE! Nobody will be able to hear you when you use it.
-Battery life suffered a bit in this version for some reason
-STILL NO FLASH ON THE CAMERA (HONESTLY motorola!!!!!)
-Everybody has a Razr..theres nothing special about this phone anymore
-VCAST is a total joke. Who wants to pay $2.99 for a 64kbps mp3 file? nobody does, Verizon. Nice try.
-Vcast media player is slow on the Razr, and lacks almost any feature you could want out of it. It would be nice if I could actually save a playlist to my flash card so I don't have to manually load my playlist up every time I want to listen to music.
-CAN'T SYNC WITH A PC. Don't be fooled by Verizon's music essentials kit. The v3m has NO WORKING DRIVERS for the USB port. It was a pain in the neck just to get the computer to recognize it so I could charge it VIA USB. So that means all of your pictures, videos, music, etc etc are stuck on your phone until Motorola releases drivers for this phone.

The v3m was a good attempt to upgrade the Razr finally, but unfortunatley I can't give this phone more than a 3 because of all the holes in it's features.

Sweet Phone!!!!

Verizon and the v3m

This is a good phone. The PROBLEM is VERIZON.

I tried the phone and after a few problems I started researching it. Seems that Verizon has decided they have a better UI than motorola. They have also decided to partially lobotomize the phone and remove BT functionality so that you either have to buy the memory card or pay them to download pictures.

I started looking around. Every other provider offers free car charger and holster. Not Verizon--$50. Other providers treat you like a customer. Not the local Verizon store--they barely have time for me.

I've had it with Verizon. I called to cancel my subscription and guess what? If you call them intending to cancel your service they will gladly provide a $50 credit to your account so that the accessory bundle is basically FREE (like it was two years ago when I got my first Verizon phone). They also offered to increase my minutes from 500 to 700 for free (a $20 value they claim). At least the people on the 800 number are willing to be somewhat competitive with other providers as a last resort.

This phone however, with the Verizon UI, is still far behind the a900 in capabilities and features. Oh, I should mention that with Sprint the A900 is FREE with an 18month contract and with Verizon the V3M is $50 with a 24 month agreement...

if you need one piece of mind..

please Do Not buy this phone.
well, personally, i do not like any kind of
moto phone. their operating system is not
stable and slow. however, thanks to VZW this
phone does not lack its operating speed.
when you press a button, it goes to a menu
you want after 1 or 2 sec. which means less
annoying. but here is my main reason that i
returned this phone.
everything was working so far. but after 4
days of purchase, it started to acting up.
when you open a camera function, it freez.
when you close a camera function, it freez
when you recive a sms, well you gusss it. it freez
it might be a bum unit. but after playing and spending my time with it, i've had it.
that was it for me. it might able to run fast, but it could not perform solidly.
don't get me wrong, i had exchanged this
razr like 3 times and samething happend
after 3-4 days. or you can say i was really unlucky. i just wanted to tell you guys that
how unlucky that phone is.
here are my pros and cons.

pros
-design: it is thin but do not forget it also wider than what you have in your hands
-display: it can be looked larger and bigger but it is only 176x220 which average
mid range phone has.
-speaker: decent speaker volume. it can be used while you are driving.
-picture: finally, moto figure out 1.3mp is better than vga.
-reception: it is little bit spotty, but
it seemed work fine while i was using it.

cons
-dependability: as i mentioned before, it gets anoying every single minute.
-bettary life: if you are heave media user,
please, go to VZW store to get a extra battery or car chager.
-mp3 synch to comp: well, VZW says that it can be hook up with your com, and ready to synch. in reality, it is not. you have to download a some kind of patch and download to your phone.(this is what they called software upgrade. b/c they did not fully test this model before lauch.) and then you can download some music. not a mp3. only WMA
-no vibe and ring geature: so not updated.

Horrible phone!!!!

This phone is terrible!!!I bought the razr thinking it was the best phone on the market,I came to find out I couldnt have been more wrong!!!It is a cool LOOKING phone but as far as everything else on it is concerned it is a POS!!!It's style is the only thing it has going for it.The speaker quality was like talking through two dixie cups and a piece string!!!The camera is like taking a picture through an 1890's camera. The menu style was easy to navigate. The only enjoyment I found with this phone is when I broke it over my leg and threw it in the garbage!!!I WOULD NOT WISH THIS PHONE UPON MY ENEMY!!!!

PRO'S

Very cool style
Breaks very easy....

CON'S

Short batery life
Speaker phone was just horrible
Camera is a joke
Side buttons are to close

Motorola V3M (Silver)

Aug 23, 2006 by illogico

IF you want a phone to make and receive calls...this is a great phone! IF you want a phone that is very small and has an attractive case...this phone is for you!

However....if you like personalizing your phone with your own color choices....you won't like this phone. (IF you like Verizon red and orange..this phone is for you!)

Shame on Verizon again for crippling many features on the V3M.

(If you have Windows Media Player 10....you can hook up your cameras USB cable and sync with it. Media Player 11 will not work.)

Pros: Great look
Great size
Nice big Motorola internal screen
Great sound quality
Great speaker phone sound quality
Sturdy USB port for charging
Decent camera and videophone

Cons: Verizon Wireless
Butt-ugly Verizon Wireless menus and
colors
No way to adjust contrast on
external screen (You can't see the
external screen in daylight and you
can barely see the internal screen.
Menus lag a bit

I bought my V3M online thru the Motorola V710 Settlement Administrator Website. (The ironic things is that the class action lawsuit against Verizon was for crippling features on the V710. Doh!) Yes, it was eventually free for me...but I do wish I had gone to the Verizon Wireless store and looked at it.

Folks, all Razr's are not the same. Hence V3M, V3C, etc.
