I like my Razr V3M

Jul 2, 2007 by Uprrgal33

I like this phone allot!

Pros:
I get good reception & in the month I've owned this phone not a single dropped call.
But that could my new provider which is Alltel.
I really like the size of the inside screen & the key pad. Navigating phone is a zip!!

Cons:
Battery life isn't as long as they say, but it does charge quickly.

Speaker is in the back of the phone at bottom. Not a good place for a phone with an MP3 to be. Can't hear it well unless you turn it upside down.

Camera isn't the best but what phone camera really is??

Phone loads a bit slow when you turn it on but no big deal to me.

All in all, I think this phone rocks!

OK phone

I've had this phone for almost a year now with Verizon Wireless. I'm pretty satisfied with it. It kind of depends on your preference.

Pros:
Nice and small/thin
Shiny
Loud Speaker and SpeakerPhone
Good Reception (for me at least)
Decent Camera
Easy to Hack (hacktherazr.com has great info)

Cons:
Slow response time doing pretty much anything
Video 15 second max (unless you hack it)
Crappy Verizon UI
microSD card slot requires taking battery out
Slow start up/shutdown times
Gets dirty easily
Flip hinge gets weak if you're not very careful
Phone slows down if theres a lot of txt messages
Stock ringtones suck
Can't transfer ringtones from computer unless hacked

Cons WAY outweigh the pros. I'd suggest a different phone, but that stuff might not bother you. It's definately not a bad phone, but there's lots more to choose from that own this one.

I just bought this phone a few days ago & I hate it & I'm trading it in!

First of all battery life is HORRIBLE. Seriously it goes from completely charged to DEAD in 5 hours. What is that?!

Second, the keypad sucks for texting, in my opinion...that & it gets all smudged up easily & that's unpleasant to look at...

It also likes to pop up old text messages & voice mails & say they are new...AND when you're typing a text message the screen blinks & sometimes freezes. It's also verrrrry slow. You give it a command & it takes a few seconds to go! NOT COOL!

The worst part of this phone though is Sprint told me yesterday morning it has been RECALLED! I called because I couldn't connect to the internet & that's what they told me. Something about all the hex #s starting with 0 were being recalled ?? Yet when I talked to Motorola they said there was NO recall on this phone.

Either way I am trading this phone in for something better. I need something faster!

Pros:
-cool design
-possibly cool for music ? (if I could connect to net I could tell ya more)

Cons:
-Slow
-freezing, blinking, etc.
-keypad sucks
-easy to break!

I say go for something else! Cool to look at isn't everything!!!!!!

it's shiny and red but...

i have this as my house phone because it was free. if i paid for this phone i would have gotten a refund within the first 48 hours.

pros: it's lightweight, red and shiny and looks sexy
cons: the ringtones suck, no gps, the interface sucks and the battery is the worst.

if you don't care about sound and interface and talktime, this phone is for you. otherwise, pick something else. anything.

Not bad, not great

First off, in terms of the Verizon model, there isn't much point in commenting on the lack of true Bluetooth support. That is common to all Verizon Phones and is the result of an ugly corner the company painted itself into with it's proprietary service.

There also isn't too much point in commenting on Verizon's menu system, since that seems to be standard on all of Verizon's phones (at least the ones I have seen lately).

Both of the above are valid considerations when deciding what service to go with. If your main goal is to use your phone to talk on and Verizon has the best voice service in your location, go with Verizon. If someone else has better voice service or you are more interested in other features, go with another service.

As for the phone itself... the quality of the phone seems pretty typical of Moto's recent offerings. It's sleek, stylish, and does pretty much all the things newer phones can do. To me, it feels cheap, which may be partly due to it's (lack of) weight but has more to do with the side buttons, which rattle in their sockets and feel junky.

The camera is acceptable, and the lack of a flash doesn't seem like a big problem, given the poor quality of most camera phone flashes.

Voice sound quality is acceptable, although I think the styling of the phone makes it difficult to hold the phone in an optimal position.

Battery life is acceptable, but far from great (but then, the whole point of the phone is to be small, and the battery is a big part of a phone).

There is a major issue with the menus on my wife's phone (the RAZR is hers) which is probably specific to some runs of the Verizon model; there is a good 2 second response delay from key press to menu display. I spoke with a Verizon Wireless CSR who asked what color the phone was (silver), so it may be specific to a certain run. She indicated there is a firmware update to address this issue, and we'll see if that helps.

I like it!

I like the phone alot despite the negative reviews.

I've had great signal (Verizon). Battery life is okay. Great look, nice feel and I like the bluetooth capability. The only two things I don't like is that the outside display goes black and that the phone doesn't offer the vibrate and ring feature. It is either/or not both.

So far so...EHH!

Bought this phone on Saturday 5/26/07 through VERIZON when I changed from Boost Mobile (Nextel).Ported my phone number over and signed upon verizon's EASY PAY prepaid system.
Got This phone for $19.99 on a 1 day manager's special.
The original one that I received got very hot after only 3 calls lasting about 5-6 minutes each and then it froze up on me twice.
So I took to another Verizon store close 2 where I was in a town about 30 miles south of San Jose, California which is where I live and the exchanged it for another RAZR.So far that seemed to do the trick.Faulty 1st unit I guess.
I got this phone on recommendation from my dad who has 2 of them from Sprint(grey & project red) and absolutely loves them.

Solid phone, beware of expensive features

The Motorazr V3m is a solid phone- making and recieving calls is easy and effective, the operating system is consistent, and it looks small and stylish on the outside. However, once you go beyond simple phone tasks, things get more complicated.

First, the exterior: it is sleek and thin, and looks very good. One problem is that the outside tends to smudge, but this can be corrected by wiping the phone off. The keys are nice, which is amazing because they are so thin. The d-pad in the middle is a little hard to use, though- the phone could have used a little more space around it.

As for basic features, almost everything is very accessible and intuitive (with the exception of the camera, which is hard to get to from the menus). The contacts software allows you to add multiple numbers for one entry at once, which is a bonus. Settings are easy to find and change. Messages are straight-foward, however, if you miss more than one message and then say "yes" at the screen that asks if you want to check them, you are taken to the newest message, which can be confusing if the earlier message is connected to it.

Now, the extra features that Verizon advertises are the disappointing part. I know this is common for phones, but just remember that what is advertised does not come with the phone for free. You must pay pretty hefty fees for web browzing, Vcast (video service), downloading ringtones and using the navigation system. Even the games are only demos and can only be used once. I have tried the navigation software as well as the browser, and both are top-quality. It is up to you to decide whether you want to pay the fees (10/mth and 6/mth respectively). Music is also difficult to transfer from your PC I have had no success trying a USB cord I had at home, so you might need to spend another $20 to get the propritary cord. The bluetooth software with the phone does not support file transfer.

Overall, a good phone for everyday needs, just make sure you know the cost

just got my verizon razr

i love this phone, its got a great speaker, pretty good battery life, and pretty good reception. the only cons that i have are that it doesnt have t9, it has a different, but its easy to get used to, and i almost like it more. but otherwise everything is good, the ringtones that come with it are even good!, not to mention the speaker, i had ringtones on my old tone, then i downloaded them on the razr and they sounded alot better!(had an lg 6100) i also bought the silcon case, i would recomend this because it offers complete protection for your phone accept for the screen, and its rubber, so you can wash it if it gets dirty. also i wish it came with the clip holster like my old phone did(and alot of other phones do too.)
