Gotta love Moto

Dec 15, 2005 by mnm101

I have always been a big fan of the Moto line up. This one just may make it to my 'mvp' list.

Pros:
+ VZW Service (Best reception ever)
+ Sleek -n- kool design
+ Fully enabled Bluetooth
+ Speakerfone (even w/ flip closed) Perfect
+ The voice recognition is incredible
+ hi res screen
+ EVDO service

Cons:
- UI is not so customizable (not from VZW UI)
- No expandable memory
- Length of Videos are limited
- Internal memory is limited period
- Phone looks and feels like a toy.... guess I need some getting use too.

Overall, phone is not so bad; add 'Nation's most reliable network' and it's perfect.

Allmost everything I wanted in a phone

First off I've been waiting a long time for this phone, and I worried that when I got it I would be disappointed. I was not. This is a great phone.

Pros: Small, made of metal not plastic, nice large screen, great reception, clear sound, speaker phone works well, OBEX works with no mods, and lets face it, it’s the best looking phone on the market!

Cons: No flash card slot, no AMPS support. The Verizon UI is not as bad as I first thought it would be. Still wish that I could have my choice between the standard Moto and Verizions UI. These are the only cons for me. I know others will say that the camera should be 2mega pixels and that it dose not have a mp3 player but to me this is not important.

All in all it’s a great phone for people that want a small slick looking high end phone that can get the job done!

Vzw Razr = near perfect...

Alright.. WEll Im a phone whore to start off.. I have had just about every LG.. or nokia.. I used to have the LG 9800 aka the V.. I had to get a multifer to the Samsung a950 becuz the lg9800 was too much drama and crap.. I had the samsung a950 for about 3 weeks.. it was a Pretty good phone... best samsung im sure.. But samsung is kinda cheapy to me. flimsy & all... So I got the razr for my birthday.. I was skeptical about it for a while due to all the bad reviews..
MOST OF them ARE WRONG!!!
The main problem on this phone is the software aka not the motorola look? dont like it? go to Cingular or Tmobile and cry more Verizon is verizon...
Anyway.. Battery life people also complain about the battery life? put the Battery Save Mode on! It lasts 2 days.. And i use my phone extensively and Extreme.. Text messaging all day and calls in and out, videos, and camera almost everyday.

Pros:
Great Look Stylish Blah blah that every1 says.
Reception in Southern California.. A++
Speaker phone loud and clear.
Battery Life - Great
Not Flimsy at all
Vibrates Hard
Clear Voice/other end hearing
Clear Pix/Flix
Battery Charge = 1 hour

Cons: No Vibrate and Ring @ same time..
software a little slow, but they are coming out with a new one to fix the problem. should be fast like the e815 and the lg's...
Other than that this phone has been by far the best i've owned...
Great Job Verizon... Hope this helped everyone...

Can I give it a 10 instead?

This phone is amazing! Ive had it for like 3 months now and I find it to be the best one available. Why?...

Pros.
*Very thin. Isn't fat lol.
*Great screen color. Full of life.
*Sound is great! Never sounds like an echoed bathroom.
*It isn't heavy. Its very light.
*Even when I have a low signal, I always get a connection WITHOUT a dropoped call.
*External display
*Bluetooth

Cons.
*Its wide?

Those are the reasons. Consider this phone when your plan/contract ends. Its pretty high tech, but not "complicated" high tech. My 80-year old grandma was able to navigate it pretty well...

It's Great!

It's a great phone. It does everything I expect a phone to do. Sure, it's not perfect, but then, what is?

Love the phone! Don't like verizon limits.

The style of this phone is awesome. Small form factor with two shades of grey metal is stunning, functional, and feels good in your hand. Fits in your pocket well, feels comfortable while talking.

And it works great. Voice quaulity. Signal quality. Voice recognition software. Three alarm clocks. Speakerphone. The ringer sound. The menu design is good and the display is bright and easy to read.

I am replacing my Motorola V710, which was really too clunky for me. I like flip-phone style and should have hung onto my old startac flip phone until this one came along. There simply is no better design out there.

Pros: Everything mentioned above.

Cons: The limiting of Bluetooth technology and having as a substitute the MyPix (for a fee) interface from Verizon.

In closing, my four stars consists of five big happy stars minus one pissed off star to Verizon for limiting what Bluetooth technology really was designed for. And then offering the only alternative to be a program designed for a child, yet priced for an adult. MyPix is a joke. $4.95 for three silly wallpapers? And I have to keep your app installed on the phone or I lose them?

Just like all my other bluetooth devices I want this one to share with the others. It doesn't. You had a class action lawsuit for the V710 because of this. Please stop crippling the technology.

4.66 out of 5

I am a big Motorola and LG fan. I ditched my vx6000 for a v710, and my v710 for a vx8100, and my vx8100 for the Razr. I will never stary from VZ again. Made a huge AT&T mistake 3 years ago. Anyway, back to the phone:

Pros:
Loud ring
Large display
Form factor has grown on me
Blows v3 GSM out of the water
PHENOMINAL Obeymoto software!
Interfaces great with H500 BT headset.

CONS:
WILL NOT VIBE & RING SIMULTANEOUSLY!
no stereo speakers (VERY minor)
I miss Moto's fully customizable d-pad and softkeys (somewhat major, but I'll live)
Battery life exponentially decreases with BT
I miss the ability to read txt and snooze the alarm from the front of the vx8100 (again, minor)

The Razr outperforms the vx8100 reception-wise. In a specific part of town (Tucson, AZ) I regurlarly dropped with the LG. Driven it 5 times with the moto on my hip w/ the h500 and have yet to drop. The vibe and ring feature is the only thing keeping this phone from a perfect 5.

not bad

The razor is a sleek nice looking phone. It pulls good reception and fits easily in your pocket. If you are looking for the added features then this is not for you. I was fairly disapointed in the phone and i am going to stick with my 8100 for a little bit longer till something else comes out.

pros
-great size
-great look
-moto changed charging port!

cons
-camera is terrible, even at full 1.3 resolution and there is no flash?
-vibrate is poor
-speaker phone ok, but not to the quality of previous motos
-no 2.5 jack, never know you made need it someday
-button design, the phone is flat so i can complain to much but they are a little hard to get used to
-battery life
-i wish it had expandable memory, not going to knock it for this since i knew ahead of time it doesn't have it.
-display is terrible, the external display is almost useless, it is dim and hard to read, i used it on my 8000 and 8100 to read my missed calls without opening the phone and i can barely even read the time on the razor?
-Price 300-100 mail in rebate= $200 wow

All in all this is a nice phone, but in my opinion is if you are going to pay$200 plus for a phone with a two year contract then it should have a flash on the camera, expandable memory, good battery life, and a good display on it. Buy it for looks, don't buy it for features. I for one will keep my $200 and happily go back and keep my 8100.

If Verizon lowers the price then this would be a good phone for around $99 bucks.

Phenomenal Phone!

I could not be happier with this phone. It gets great reception in my house where I never got reception before. It does full bluetooth isync on a mac, OBEX is enabled so you can you send pix and ringtones to the phone from your computer (yes, even on Verizon), and the voice recognition is beyond belief. I have a bluetooth carkit (the Nokia CARK 112) and you merely push the button and speak either a name or a number and it dials flawlessly. I don't use my phone for music so I could care less about the lack of transflash card. In short, highly recommended.

One thing wrong with RAZR V3c by US Cellular

Jan 13, 2006 by JTmullins

I love the phone but even though the manual indicates I can send data ( phone numbers) to another Bluetooth Device it is impossible to do so. There simply is not an option to send phone number data. I have called US Cellular and Motorola. The issue has not been resolved. Both companies pass the buck. The Bluetooth works great in the 2006 Sienna I just purchased. I just can't get the RAZR to send data to the Sienna. I can do it with a Nokia Bluetooth phone but not the RAZR. Has US Cellular disabled this feature for some reason? Any ideas?
