ALLTEL V3c

Dec 16, 2007 by dombrowskichris

This review is a little late, but I'm doing it now because i have decided to go back to the razr.

I never should have gotten rid of this phone.
it was and still is one of Alltel's best phones.

Pros:

Good signal.
Good call strength.
Good Speaker Phone.
Large Screen.
Well placed buttons.
Alltel keeps Motorola's original software so it isn't slow or buggy.
Okay camera.
Video is decent.
Fast Downloads.
Slim.
I like the gray and silver look.(would prefer black outside but will survive.)
Fast Messaging.
Bluetooth that allows files to be sent from your bluetooth enabled computer i.e. mp3s/pictures/contacts (it seems like more and more bluetooth phones are getting rid of that capability).
Made of strong metal like material so it will last a while.

Cons:
Battery isn't amazing but will last through the day if you charge it every night.
I bought the v3c the first day it came out and it had the problem of locking outbox messages to where they couldn't be erased but once they released a software upgrade it worked just fine.
The middle button on the keypad which is a circle isn't part of the whole keypad so it seems to be super glued on and falls off after a couple of weeks and it still works fine but it looks weird and makes you wonder about the phones overall construction.

If it wasn't for the battery and the middle button then i would have given the phone 5 stars.

It has been the best phone i have ever used and i can't wait to get another one considering there only $150 average on eBay.
worth every penny.

Motorola Does it again

The phone is so thin that it falls out of my hand constantly. becareful when you open it because it might just snap in half. if you like spending your time waiting for things to load and glitches this is your type of phone. it is not water proof. Do not try shaving with it either. again it is not water proof. the name is very misleading.

Was A good phone...

Well it's time for an upgrade so i'll submit the old review for this guy

pros:
1. good UI
2. good camera

cons:
1.slow to load
2. low battery life
3.breaks kind of easily( I dropped it once or twice and the smartkey broke)

so in the end it is an average phone but not the best choice.

Worst phone

Aug 17, 2007 by sekmom

Pros: while it worked, good reception.
Cons: Outside screen is hard to read, key pad buttons don't register half the time, so you have to redial your number. Within 3 months, 2 of our phones needed to be replaced. Alltel wouldn't do anything because under battery it was pink. They draw moisture in your pocket or if you live in a humid climate, these phones had not been in water. Motorola wouldn't stand behind their product. Now 1 year later. all of them are shot (we had 5). VERY POOR QUALITY AND NO ONE WILL STAND BEHIND THEM. The best phones we have ever had have been Nokias, and US Cellular in our area, as opposed to the Alltel, that we are stuck with for another year.

horrible

First Phone - after about 4 months it started to do this weird ticking sound every second that I was talking to someone. they could hear it too. it was like the second hand on a clock. Drove me and the person I was talking to nuts!

2nd Phone - after one month the paint started to chip off. Month 2 the screen on the front shattered, no clue how that happened. 2 Months and 1 week the screen went blank. The screen came back and I was able to use it. Tonight 2 Months and 2 weeks after I got the phone it's blank again. The back of this phone falls off very easy too.

Cons -
-Camera not the best,
-Cheap Paint, Hard to see screen outside,
-sometimes it doesn't ring when I get a call,
-Recordings of songs cannot be heard well when used as a ringer,
- No Flash

Pros -
-Size,
-No problems with reception(cept in a store like Meijer or walmart),
- Big inside Screen
- Loud speaker phone

It's okay, I do agree the battery span sucks. But you really cant expect it to be perfect, It was kinda first in it's class.

Great!

This is a great phone. It's not for those who want a phone that'll do super fast text messages. If you want that then get a Blackberry Pearl. But for those who want a slim, sleek phone that looks beautiful has a good amount of features. for not a whole bunch of money than this is for you.

Pros:
Looks Great

Make's great phone calls

Exterior Display shows needed information on incoming calls / text messages, battery info etc.

Will allow the syncing of ringtone's pictures and video. (On Cricket's version, Unknown about Verizon or Alltel's version)

Well built. Doesn't feel cheap in the hand. Feel's solid and like a phone you'd want to use. Along with a strong hinge.

Cons:
None.

Don't be fooled by the reviews saying "this phone sucks", Let them go back to there 400.00 Treo 750wx. I've had this phone for 6 month's and if your looking for a great phone thats slim, has great looks, will sync with your computer and makes a great phone call than the V3c is for you.

Ok Phone

Jun 9, 2007 by Lederhosen19

I got this phone about a year ago ad loved it. But then after about 7 months I didn't care about it as much and I was more careless with it. I ended up getting scratches everywhere on the phone and the hinge was horrible. In April the phones screen would be white after opening it. I could use it but couldn't see anything. And the Outside screen was blue. Sometimes it would briefly work. On occasion, the outside screen would be upside down or overlay backgrounds. I got the phones inside screen replaced after it cracked but it still did the same thing. They finally gave me a new phone.

Pros:
-Good reception
-Good 1.3 mp camera (Outdoors)
-Nice bright big screen
-Slim Design
-Metal Housing
-Good feeling keypad
-Nice Speaker
-Good Bluetooth for sending files

Cons:
-Fragile hinge
-Scratches easily (plastic)
-Bad battery life
-Only 38 mb
-No memory card slot
-Slow in menus sometimes

Over all, an ok phone, but when I get a new phone, I'll stay away from the slim catogory.

Good Start Bad Finish

Jun 6, 2007 by Heinegrabber

This started out as a good phone. I received it when I lost my first RAZR. When I first opened it I noticed it was a diffrent phone. It performed well the first few months but after that everthing went downhill from there the signal is great but the phone has spasms where I cant call out and can not answer calls. The lock activates when it wants to. Can not transfer files. The battery life sucks and I hate the orange exterior screen. I dont think they could have done worse. My call list received, dialed, and missed are often scrambled or sometimes just missing. I dont think I will ever buy another Razr.
