LOVE IT!!!! question though....
This phone is simply incredible, for all reasons already stated. However, I have a question about it. Everywhere online says that it supports MP3 file formate for music. Mine does not have this option in the User's Guide that comes with it, and when I called Verizon about it, they said it didn't have the option either. For those of you using Verizon, how do you play MP3's? I have a 128MB MiniSD card with adapter so I can load the files from my computer, but how do you get them to play on your phone? Thanks!
Great Upgrade
I went from the LG4400 to the new 8100. Found the update well woth it and love the Bluetooth freedom. Using the Cardo Scala 500 after testing the Motorola HS850 and H500 also.
Phone functions well and battery life is great. in 8 days I used up one standrad and one extended charge.
very nice
well i finaly got it and i love it honestly in every way minus a few lil problems...
pros
awsome camera
looks and feels great
loud ear piece
loud speaker phone
loud ringer
can see missed and text messages on out side
amazing reception
stereo speakers are amazing
display is so clear
cons
no actual mp3 player unless you have qpst or bitpim you can use the hidden media player which i havent tried yet
you cant make voice memos into ring tones
i dont like how verizon made these features disabled but you all know we can get around these minor problems...
in the end
the phone looks much better in person i though it was ugly from the pictures please believe me go see it in real life it looks amazing the phone is very impressive and looks expensive, it makes you look a lot better.
GREAT PHONE!!!!!!!!!!
This is a great phone! You stupid Motorola lovers don't even know what a good phone is.
pros-
great screen size for the size of the phone
SOOOO much better looking than that nasty Motorola 815 or whatever that piece of junk is
camera is great, even though those Motorola people think that theres is better (its not)
you can have tell you aloud who is calling example it would say "call from Home"
great voice commands, great for blue tooth headset
small design(compare to : LG vx 700 and 8000)
out side screen is full color with great features such as reading pix/flix/TXT messages
cons-
they didn't come out with this sooner
Not to many problems
I dont know why so many people are complaining about this phone. i personally dont have to many problems with this phone.
PROS:
-i like the design
-flash stays on during pics and a second light flashes when photo taken
-outside and main screens are sharper and more colorfull then past LG's
-I found the speaker to be loud for rintones and speaker mode.
CONS:
-i hate stub antennas
-speaker mode needs major tweeks. People arent able to hear me clearly unless the phone kept close to my mouth.
-outside keys with no use is iritating
-phones a little thick
To many peope have complained bout the reception and i for one dont have any problems. i had a vx7000 before and the reception in my area is good. i dont have dropped calls and have trouble making calls.
Great Phone!
Just got my 8100 as an upgrade to the vx4500:
Pros:
Great Design
Great Camera
Great Reception
Great Screens
Loud Ringtones
Decent Speaker
Cons:
Crippled MP3, Bluetooth
All in All: Great phone, would highly reccomend to anyone.
Great features, Good Phone, Okay Reception
Okay, this is my first review on a phone, even though I have had atleast 12 phones in the last 6 months between Verizon/Sprint/Cingular.
The LG 8100 is a great phone all in all. The outside screen is real nice and crisp. Being able to view text messages on the outside display is KEY! The inside screen is a nice color screen (nothing special). I like being able to customize the outside screen more then most other phones I'm coming from a (8940). Camera quality is excellent for a phone.
Best quality of this phone is the speaker phone! It is very loud, louder then any other speaker phone I have had on any phone! Basically over all the phone is great. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because Verizon really takes away a lot of the features you should be able to do with your phone. Plus, I still can not figure out how to play MP3's using the outside buttons. I know they are there for a reason!
Better Than Motorola E815
I am beginning to think that all the bad reviews of this phone were sent in by Motorola employees or Moto diehards. I had actually used the E815 prior to coming to the 8100, and there were reasons why I returned the Motorola. The truth is, there was nothing special about the E815. It looked cheap, felt cheap, just like you would expect from a Motorola product. Call quality and reception is extremely better on the 8100.
Pros: Sleek compact design, nice solid construction (it feels very durable & solid), loud clear speakers on side of phone cannot be beat, great reception no matter where I go, ability to read text & pix messages from outer display, speaker phone is loud and clear, can customize outer display (on E815, what's on the inside is what's on the outside), blue-tooth.
Cons: Screen not as large as the 8000, no extendable antenna (not that it is even necessary), can only use ringtones downloaded through get it now, get messages in my inbox at times that appear as "??????".
The clarity with the BT headset is so much better than with the E815. Once music on demand becomes available, the Moto people's jaws are going to drop. At $149.99 after rebate ($49.99 after NE2), better get it before the promo ends.
Knock Out!
I sell cell phones for another carrier and this being only available to TDMA carriers, I had to go with another carrier, (which I do not sell for) but this phone is definitely worth it!!!! The automatic Voice Commands are awesome, I was a loyal Nokia and Sony Fan, but now my friends and co-workers are calling me a traitor because of this phone.
Nice phone!
Pros:
Bluetooth(might hear static after disconnecting headset)
Mp3 player(Max memory card: 1GB)
Sound is excellent on the handset, speakerphone
Reception is excellent
Displays are excellent
Camera/video is sufficient
Cons: None that i can think of as of this moment.
Heres some advice for useres who own this phone, if you upgrade to the new firmware version of T81VZV07 from version T81VZV04 you will loose your apps and games you downloaded thru get it now prior to the upgrade and will be unable to retrieve them thru the get it now service due to version compatibility between the firmware and the apps and games.
