If you purchase from T-Mobile you have two weeks to return the phone---If you have note used the device for more than **30** minutes. That proviso is buried in 1.1 font fine print. If you want to ditch the device on Ebay, you will need to unlock the phone. At this point only bongo wireless seems to offer that service for $100.

The real cons are limited inbox space for emails. You have to constantly delete emails, otherwise the limit is reached (supposedly unlimited email) and additional incoming email is rejected.

Predictive text is no where near an easy to use feature. If you need to type a lot of email, find a device that has a keyboard, e.g., ipaq, sidekick, etc.

The track wheel navigation is unwieldy. In general this device is awkward, regardless of price. I would not recommend.

Almost a "good thing"... but not quite

I've had my 7100T for 3 months now, and I have to say that, after going through everything with it, it's not what I had hoped.

What I wanted was something that I could finally use as a minimal PDA, email device, and phone, all in one, without having to hold an iPaq to my ear.

So, here's the rundown of the good and not so great:

PROS:
- Great screen, the best I've seen on a small phone.
- I love the keyboard and text entry. It did take some getting used to, for about an hour, but it's terrific.
- Great battery warning - plenty of time to hook up when it's getting low.
- Address Book and built-in apps are good.
- Web client (for email) is very good.

CONS:
- No way to view attached image files. No excuse for that.
- Bluetooth? It's for headsets only. No bluetooth modem capability. No excuse for that, either.
- Battery life is short.
- Ringers, while getting better, are very limited out of the box
- Java app support is iffy
- Crashes occur more often than they should

The image attachment and bluetooth support is what really blew me away. No way to use this thing as a modem? Seriously? That's a major flaw, one that really limits this device.

And no image attachment viewing, yet you can choose a background image from the image browser application that's installed (but can't see email attachments)? What? Huh?

My advice: Pass on this one until they get it right, or go for the Motorola smartphone. I got burned by the early adopter bug on it...
