I love this phone!!!!!!

Sep 28, 2005 by crtrluvr

I have this phone and work on a horse farm, so I use the bluetooth and love it! It is a durable phone that gets the best reception of any phone I have had. I will admit that it has a lot more things than I would ever use, but love the fact that I can carry it while riding and not only talk on the phone but have the MP3 player. I was worried about the screen and being scratched etc. but it has held up extremely well. I have also used the camera as a back up when the main camera died and got remarkable photos. I would recommend this phone to anyone!

sony s710a not the best not the worst

I have had this phone for roughly 30 days and have used every single feature in it. I would expect a better phone from a company like Sony. I speak about this phone from central Florida area. This will give local people a heads up about the cingular signal.

(Pros)
-camera (in daylight only) is perfect! 1.3 rich pics
-ring tones are very loud
-speaker phone is very loud
-swivel feature is different
-screen is vibrant and rich in color
-battery life is great (heavy user here)
-ear piece is loud (I hear everyone that calls)
-blue tooth (First go around for me) great

(Cons)
-no daylight no good pictures (it is a phone though)
-camera light is a joke
-calls always breaking up (could be cingular service in central Florida area)
-BIGGEST PHONE available needs to be smaller
-compatible only to 128 meg 20 songs BAD BAD
-OPERATING SYSTEM IS HORRIBLEBLY SLUGGISH MAKES ME SICK THAT SONY MADE THIS
-the key tone cant keep up with the button
-Games? a joke keys dont keep up

I would trade it for another phone although it is to late. Sucks to be me! SONY WHAT HAVE YOU DONE YOU CAN DO BETTER THEN THIS!!!! I HAVE FAITH IN YOU STILL JUST TIGHTEN IT UP A BIT!!!!

this phone is great, it fun to play with, i don't need to by a digital camera anymore, i get to record songs and use them as ring-tones which is cool
THE DOWNFALL OF THIS PHONE IS THAT I DONT GET A BETTER SIGNAL THAN MY OLD PHONE..MY OLD PHONE HAD BETTER SIGNAL...I THOUGHT CINGULAR SUPPOSE TO HAVE BETTER SIGNAL
anyways this phone is a pretty good phone to have...and all in all i like it..
but I JUST NEED BETTER SIGNAL.

Sony Ericsson At It's Best

Hello everyone! I traded in the RAZR because the only good thing was the design. I've had the S710 for about two weeks now, and I absolutely love it!Here are some pros and cons...

Pros:
-Large, beautiful display
-Good camera and video (1.2 megapixels)
-Excellent mp3 ringtones
-Unique design
-Long battery life
-Bluetooth
-The picture caller ID is sooo cute
-Loud speakerphone
-Fun Fun Fun

Cons:
-A little big until you get used to it
-Fingerprint magnet (just wipe them off)
-Expensive, but I found a solution (a legal one, lol)

This is the best phone that I've ever owned, and I've been with cingular for a while now. If you thought the RAZR could make head turns, you wouldn't believe this one. It's so unique. It's really a great phone, but unfortunately it's about $300. [...]

Beautiful looking display but battery life is a problem

Sep 9, 2005 by scienceguy2001

Had the Sony Erickson S710a for about 3 weeks and returned it today to Cingular along with the accessories... USB cable, DC adapter and bought a Nokia 3210 and hope the batteries last longer.
Pros:
1. This is the most beautiful looking phone on the market and the cool slide out feature works well.
2. The camera takes clear sharp pictures in full light but not inside or in darkness- even with the little light aid on. They are fuzzy.
3.You can assign the pictures you took of your friends to display when they call you... cool

Cons:
1. Speaker phone doesn't always work well at the other end.
2. The keys are so small and smooth that you can't dial with out actually looking at the beautiful keyboard... something that is difficult to do while driving.
3. The biggest problem is the battery life. I had to charge it almost daily with just 10 minutes or so of talking. It seemed every time I wanted to use it the battery was low. Darn
4. The display is very difficult to read in the sun... and is blank unless you push a key to bring up the display.
5. The keys would get bumped in my pocket and the display would turn on and eat up the battery life even faster...then I would get just one day of use.

Pretty awesome

I recently purchased this phone (about 3 weeks ago) and I'm pretty impressed.

Pros:
AMAZING screen
Almost usable pictures
mp3 player sounds awesome with headphones
shortcuts customizable
good service
decent-good battery life
LOVE the way you lock it

Cons:
video just sucks....but what can you expect, just thought i would make the comment that it is better than other phones though.
all of the included themes suck
it is a lot of steps to get to the text message screen....unless you set it up as a shortcut
the flash doesn't flash...it just says on....kinda weird
swiveling thing is kinda annoying....but its ok
You can only turn on the speaker phone after the call is connected and it isn't all that loud when you connect it....and maybe its just mine, but it seems to break up more when its on the speakerphone.

It's not really as bad as i make it sound so, I just gave it a 5....If I had the option, I would really give it a 4.75....but that rounds up anyways.

Love the Phone

The phone is great. Does more then any phone i have ever owned. Easy to use, looks great and has a great camera on it. Was a Nextel guy for the last few years, and as I'm sure you know they don't offer very good phones. Now that i have made the switch i feel like i have leaped 10 years into the future. Best part of all, went with a friend to pick up new phone. He got one of the star wars editions. When he started to play he was very upset with how much quicker the new OS moves and the little things they changed like the ability to turn off shutter sounds in camera mode.

Pros
Camera
ease of use
style
easy to lock keypad
includes memory stick, memory stick reader, and head set
all the functions the phone has
Awesome screen

Cons
antenna not great (cingular in detroit)
ringer volume very loud
keys are kinda small

Not Bad

I think this phone is great. the memory stick duo support is good for all the free ringtones i can make from my mp3 collection. the ring's are clear and loud, and the volume in the earpiece is sufficient for me. I think the design is nice, and looks clean.

PROS:

Sony MemoryStick Duo (not pro) 128mb support. (32mb included)
1.3 Megapixel Camera
GUI is pretty slick.
Looks sleek
Games are Demos (not too big of a deal for me)

CONS:

Interface can lag at times.
Camera likes to blur images (Or is it me?)
Not larger than 128mb memory stick supported.

I give the phone 4 out of 5. Looks dope, and mp3 ring support is nice. This is my first cellphone, but i think the 200 dollar price tag with new service is worth it definately.
