Read the reviews, you'll get what you expect, great phone!

Jun 3, 2005 by loganki

This phone is among the top 3 offered by Cingular Orange. I'll cut straight to pros/cons:

Pros:

-Sexy
-Great screen
-Great camera
-Bluetooth
-Cingular Service (the best, tried them all)
-Key lock function (sliding button on side)
-Duo memory stick (wish it was pro, see cons)
-Battery life great for the power of the phone
-Reception
-AIM

Cons:

-Menu is a LITTLE slow, but if you are expecting it when you buy it, you won't hardly notice.
-No 2.5mm headphone jack :(
-Duo card only able to sport 128megs
-A bit bulky
-Fragile

The microphone issue (covering it up with your cheek) found in other reviews has really not been an issue, even when pressing the phone against my face.

Please email me if you have any other questions about this phone. phonescoop AT loganirons.com

THIS PHONE ROCKS!!!

Jun 2, 2005 by shellirave

This has got to be the best phone I have ever owned. I have Cingular service and live in LI, NY, the reception is great, the photo quality is awesome for a camera phone and the video capture and playback are terrific. The options seem endless for what this phone has to offer. The only minor problem that I have is that the battery life could be a bit longer, maybe it is because I just got the phone and have been on it constantly that it seems to run low alot?...lol It could also come with a few more ring tones if you ask me, but the ones it came with and the ones you can download sound great...crystal clear. But those basically are my only 2 gripes. Other than that...perfection! The speaker is decently loud but not overbearingly loud (like most Nextel phones). I happened to get the limited edition Star Wars version and it even came with free tix to the movie (which I didnt even need since I already saw it) lol. The movie clip it comes with is from the Return of the Jedi, not the new movie so dont get to exited, but the quality of that is great too. All of my friends are bugging about this phone and now they all want one. It really is a keeper!

The Best Camera Phone on the Market

May 3, 2005 by Darkstarchronos

This phone is an amazing device, it has everything from bluetooth (which works well with all 3 of my bluetooth headsets) to the 1.3 mega-pixel camera( taking better pics than any other phone currently on the market in the U.S.), not to mention the mp3 player. This phone is very sturdy and is easy to use with its long list of features. I've done a lot of research on this device before I ordered it, and it sounded like this device is awesome with all of the features, plus their is 95% satisfaction rate for this device. Once I received it all of my research was confirmed I couldn't have asked for a better phone! Plus I got this phone for $40 which was much better than it would have been will my discount @ $350: If interested in getting the same deal feel free to contact me @ epsilonassault@aol.com. I don't think that anyone should miss out on this. It is an awesome phone but no one should have to pay $400+ when you can get it at only $40!
PROS:
- Huge, bright screen
- Very sturdy feel
- Excellent speaker
- Excellent pictures for a camera phone (1.3 mp)
- EDGE is very impressive
- Bluetooth is great
- MP3 player is awesome
- Comes with stereo headphones that double as a headset
- Reception is awesome

CONS:
- Have not found a memory stick duo larger than 128mb
- The interface is a little lagged when going between menus
- Could be a little big for some people with small hands
-Mic gets covered easily
-Speaker phone is a little quiet, but very clear!

Just got this phone 2 days ago and can't stop messing with it. The best part about the phone was the price. I paid $40!!! If you too don't want to spend loads of money on the phone, then contact me at tomgoris2010@yahoo.com This phone is a must have for that price!!

Extroardinary phone, but not perfect...

Apr 22, 2005 by SUM AZN DOOD

The Sony Ericsson S710a has all the great features any cellphone needs all in one package. It's packed with a media player allowing music and video playback, a 1.3 megapixel camera with superb picture taking capabilities for a cellphone, a huge 2.3 inch LCD display, a beautiful swivel design, and so much more! This phone has everything you could want in a phone. But as always, nothing can be perfect and this phone proves it with a few peeves I'd like to point out.

Pros...
Trust me when I say this phone has A LOT of pros.

Cons...
- Price : With a $500 price tag for those already with a contract, this phone can be quite expensive.
- Size : Though the size isn't too much of a big deal, the S710a is larger than the average phone. But considering it has a huge screen and plus all it's features, you get used to the bulge it makes in your pants.
- AIM : The AOL Instant Messenger on this phone is quite annoying. I don't know if it's the phone or the service, but AIM is horrible. When trying to add buddies on the phone, they never get added. And there's no way to manage your buddy list on AIM cause for some reason the phone chooses random buddies to add to your phone buddy list. Chatting is actually ok though with a little lag here and there between messages.
- Laggy OS : The operating system for this phone doesn't keep up to par with the pressing speed of a rushing thumb. When accessing certain menu items, it could take half a second more than expected for it to load on the slow OS.
- Memory Stick PRO Duo : The memory stick is a great way to store MP3s and pictures. But being limited to only a 128 mb stick can be a drag especially when memory sticks go up to 2 gb.
- Web Browser : The silly thing about the browser is that you can't add your own URL to surf unless you go into the Bookmarks and add it.
- Backlight : You cannot edit how long you want your backlight to be on for unlike other phones. You can simply set it to automatic or off.

Best Phone I have ever owned

PROs: Great Camera (Best I've seen yet on a phone); Swivel design is awesome and comfortable; MP3 Player rocks and sounds great; bluetooth makes it so much easier syncing with your computer and other devices, included 32MB memory internal PLUS 32MB memory stick duo makes taking pictures and videos and transferring them fun and easy; the screen is big, crisp, and clear; 3-D gaming is wicked hot -- look fantastic; Tools are great and easy to use; Music DJ ring-tone maker is fun.

CONs: Price for regular consumers is outrageous; menus can be slow.

Overall this is one outstanding phone. I would suggest is to anyone that is looking to get onto a GSM network. The only problem I first found was that it was way to expensive for me...that was until I found a great website where I got it for $40. If anyone is interested in this phone and want to know where I picked it up just email me @ kevin.klug@us.army.mil. Some people also say that the menus are too slugish and are a pain in the butt, but whats everybodies rush, just cuz something doesn't happen 1 second faster than it should people get all upset. All my friends thought the phone was amazing when I whipped it out and they are all in the process of picking one up. Don't forget about the website I told you about, and if your interested email me.

Best Phone I've Ever Owned

Apr 6, 2005 by uNt0uChAbLe

First off, I wasn't even looking at getting this phone but I caught a really good deal on eBay for it so I had to jump on it. That decision is the best one Ive made regarding cell phones. This is such an awesome phone. The screen is bright and BIG. The pictures are the best Ive seen from a megapixel camera on a cell phone. The speaker is unbelievably loud when you set MP3s as ringtones. Overall this phone is awesome and I highly recommend it. I did have some trouble when I first got it with the internet settings but thats all taken care of now.

PROS:
-Huge, bright screen
-Nice sturdy feel
-Not having to swivel it out to answer or talk
-Excellent speaker
-Excellent pictures for a megapixel camera on a cell phone
-EDGE is pretty impressive
-Bluetooth is solid
-Slide lock/unlock button on side
-MP3 player is awesome
-Comes with stereo headphones that double as a headset
-Reception is great

CONS:
-Keypad takes a little getting used to
-Can't use a memorystick duo larger than 128mb
-The interface is a little laggy when going between menus
-Could be a little big for someone with small hands (perfect for me though)
-Can't use custom alerts for text messages

If you can get past the cons above then this is definately the perfect phone for you. That is if you feel like putting out over $400...

This phone has it all. I have had phones from all of companies out on the market. This one puts them all away. Whatever could be next. This phone is hard too top then I read the reviews and did some research them all this one came in first by a wireless mile. Go and get one and enjoy it yourself.

I work in the telesales dept for cingular wireless and I have seen alot of phones some good some not so good but i must say that, I love this phone. the color is brilliant the 3-d games dynamic. The picture quality is awesome. When I take a video which can be all of 3 minutes long it looks like i have taking a video from a camcorder. I also own a razr and I must say Sony Ericsson has knocked Motorola off the mountain for wireless phones. Buy it it is worth every penny. What will they think of next?
