oh hell no

Aug 15, 2005 by vswanigan

This was my first phone...I had it only a few months when the little piece that the charger plugs in to fell out. It will still charge but i can't move the phone otherwise the charger falls out of the phone. I paid a lot for it too. Pretty sure cingular no longer carries this phone.

Pros: um...

Cons:
~Battery life is terrible.
~Memory is terrible.
~No speaker-phone.
~No high-speed connection to Web.
~Games are low-end
~ringer volume is utterly low, even on loudest setting (this is a big one for me, cause my phone is usually in my purse and i never hear it.)
~can't change outside covers (it is ugly!)
~can't customize a contact with ringer, only group
~Signal drops everywhere and in every single call (inever have a full conversation)
~can't see date and time of your last missing calls, you can see just the last one.
~Interference with all electronic devices at 3 feet distance
~Locks up if I try to do things too fast (especially when looking at the photo gallery)
~only can hold 8 ringtones that you download and they only last a max of 5 sec.
~wallpaper is always plasetered with "cingular"

Don't be a fool like me.

LG 1400 : Overall, a good cellphone

Aug 12, 2005 by OrangeMiasma

I had just purchased the LG 1400 the other day. The camera on that one is way better than the cameras on any of the other phones that I have ever owned. I think the pictures come out great. I also just love the way they load on a bunch of options so you can modify your photos.

To narrow this down, everything in general about that phone feels very comfortable for me, and I got used to it pretty fast. My only problem with that phone is the fact that the ringer is not very loud. They must put the speaker inside of the phone because when someone calls you, you can barely hear it, and when you have the phone open and test the ringtones, you can still barely hear it, but it's a little louder. I have also noticed that MIDI file ringtones and the ones that you buy right from the Cingular website sound pretty low in volume also. However, the ones that come with the phone aren't so low in volume. Which leads me to believe that those tones are a certain file type that the phone supports that aren't MIDI.

I am also concerned because on another review website, a few people were mentioning how the back light and image on their home screen when they open the phone would only come on sometimes. It must fry out or something. I had the same problem on my last phone which was also an LG, which worries me about this one.

stay away

I sold wireless phones for 2 years before accepting a position in a Cingular call center which i have recently left, so you can believe what I tell u is worth something. In the past I have used Nokias, Moto's, and now decided to try the LG 1400....BIG MISTAKE.....i have read some of the positive reviews on this fon and cant figure out why they like it, but if u do not care if u can hear all of your conversation then this fon may be the one for u......however i cannot live with missing every third word and that is exactly what happens in every conversation i have on this fon.......my expert opinion,,,,,,STAY AWAY FROM THIS FON IT IS ONLY GOOD AS A CHEAP CAMERA AND EVEN THEN IT ONLY HAS ENOUGH MEMORY TO SAVE APPROX 15 PICS!!!! IN CLOSING THIS IS THE WORST FON I HAVE EVER USED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!

Best phone I've ever owned!

I was hoping to buy the Samsung E317 but it was out on display in the Cingular store but it was discontinued. So instead of just leaving I saw the LG L1400i. Bought it for $80 with a $30 rebate. Not bad. The reason I gave it a 4.5 is because I want to change the theme and the outside screen is a little bit lighter than what I like. I wanted it to be just a little bit darker.

Pros:
-Nice camera
-Love the two displays
-Enormous Internal Screen
-Great sound quality

Cons:
-Only one game which is not that great, reminds me of snake but in color from Nokias.
-The external display could be a little darker.
-Can't Change the theme
-I don't like the sound when you change something or send a message.

Overall, awesome phone, I've fell in love with it. HAHA. Coming from a horrible Motorola V220 of 4 months, this is the best one ever. I reccomend it to anybody especially the younger crowd.

Great little phone for the money!

I wasn't real happy with having to get a new phone, since I bought an ATTWS Nokia 6620 right before the merger, but this phone gets even better reception than the Nokia. The camera produces clearer pics than the Nokia and it's lighter. It does feel pretty solid in your hand and there is no wobble in any of the parts. Both the call volume and ringer volume are plenty loud, and you can set it to ring and vibrate at the same time.
My only Con is that there is no speakerphone.

Don't waste your time or money on such a pile of s**t

To tell you this phone sucks doesn't really do it justice. This is undoubtedly the worst phone I have ever had! Yes, it looks attractive and it appears user friendly. But, the unreliable reception and overall battery life are heinous. I lost count on the number of dropped calls, unassigned numbers, frozen screens, and insufficient memory pop ups. The best has to be the L.E.D. lights for the exterior and interior going out. It's sooo much phone having caller i.d. and not being able to see who is calling you! I feel sorry for any soul who purchased this phone and can't upgrade their phone because of their contract. Finally, Cingular Customer Service representatives are especially helpful to tell you how poor the phone is, of course, after you have purchased it. Raising the bar, my ass!

Horrible

This phone is terrible. My fiance and I both have one and we've each had to have them replaced (neither of us are rough on phones.) The software in his screwed up within the first week. The lens on the camera and the front screen crack really easily. The phone works slowly, drops calls, has terrible reception, and stores few pictures. I had the LG 6000 before this phone and I loved it. It was a great phone, but this one is a true disappointment. Don't buy it!

Like the phone.

Pros-
Large bright colorful screen inside and out.
Great camera.
Designed to perfection key-pad and everything.
Clear and never has dropped a call.
Voice record is great and loud.
Sturdy and well-built.

Cons-
Battery life is terrible.
Memory is terrible.
Complicated to connect to PC.
No speaker-phone.
Customization.
No high-speed connection to Web.
Games are low-end

Really need speaker-phone on every phone. Its a must. Will wait a year before looking for another phone with better features. Design is a must too.

A Great Phone

This is one of LG best phones.
Pros
This phone has a great camera, back light is great, graphics are unbeatable, signal great.
Cons
Gets mixed with FM/AM/AntennaTV radio signals causing static. This is standard with GSM Frequency because it is such a high powered freq.
