Prefer the Samsung D500

Feb 4, 2005 by DavidFerrington

Very pretty phone, but found it hard to handle, a bit too wide to manipulate with one hand. The screen isn't as good as the spec suggests (imho) and the Camera is nowhere as good as the D500 (ok, so the D500 has a 1.3 Mp).
But the thing that killed it for me was the menu system and phone book. If thats an improvement, what were Motorola's menus like before?
I took it back and swapped back to the D500 (I had BT problems with my D500 that I resolved after I got the V3, its a long story).

PROS:
lightweight, comes with data cable & case

CONS:
poor menus, sparse manual, poor screen, even worse cam. not easy to handle with one hand.

Great Dispite what you hear

I have been selling this phone ever since it has come out. it has had far fewer problems than any other phone on the market. For everything it does the current price of 150 bucks with a two year contract is really quite a deal. i find this phone to have the best reception of any phone i have used, and love using the bluetooth link. i use it to send photos, ring-tones, and of course to talk. it is such a great phone that cingular is ignoring its proposed replacement, the v3i, until such a time that the razr's popularity diminishes.

Great phone!

If you like flip phones this phone is the winner by far! Check it out, it can play mp3 ringtones, video capture, video playback, and has a huge screen. You can't miss anything, browse the internet, go on AOL Instant Messenger, load Google Local on it and find your directions on the phone to places you're unfamiliar with. I just wish it had an expandable transflash/microsd memory slot like a Razr V3i. It's also missing an MP3 player, otherwise I'd give this phone a 5. This is definately a "Gotta have it!" if you're a phone collector or if you just want a nice phone.

My Razr

I Own the new motorola Razr V3 in the hot pink colour and i am in love! nver have i owned a phone that is flash sexy and stylish as the razr. All my mates are after this phone because its a brill phone. the games are good so is the camera. the bluetooth is good as i use it quite a lot and all the other features are excellent. but one thing that is a problem is the videos. yes you can download them but i like recording videos so if the razr could record videos too that would make the phone tops

Good Phone....So Far...

I just got this phone about 2 weeks ago and I'm lovin' it! I used this site to help in making a decision about getting the phone or not and did not agree with some of the opinions. By the way I have the Black Razr and am with Cingular.

Pros:
-Hot Screen: large, bright and clear, is really NOT as bad as people make it out to be in sunlight.
-Great size
-Loud ringers: it can ring and vibrate at the same time.
-SPEAKERPHONE:one of the main reasons I got it, has a nice volume, and works with phone closed.
-Camera: nice quality for a phone, can take self portraits with phone closed.
-Built in antenna: makes phone sleeker fits in pocket gr8.
-Excellent sound quality
-Decent battery life (have been playin' around with it... U will too)!

Cons:
-External Screen: a little small..could be bigger (for those who said it is too hard to read,..the external screen goes out to save battery, but to be able to see time, battery life and signal while shut, just press the "smart key" little button on left of phone and Ta-Da it lights up long enough for you to read it)not a big deal.
-Vibrate: on the weak side but inside snug fitting pants you should feel it. Loud ringer helps.

That' really about it, I like the fact that the buttons on the side of the phone are on the top of the flip it prevent you from pressing them when you have a grip on the phone. They also allow you to change ring tone profiles while phone is shut(for new Moto users) and they don't accidentally change inside your pocket at least not for me. They could have given a few more ringers(the longer polyphonic type)but u can always download. Motos interface isn't that bad, some annoyances like address book features, that Nokia and Samsung easily squash (have owned both and prefer Nokia and Moto over Samsung although Samsung is catching up and is innovative)but its not a huge deal. Fingerprints and smudges are everywhere, but u get used to it, wipe away! Love the phone so far and hope that U will too!!

So Close!!

I've had my RAZR 2 weeks now. I don't want to waste bandwidth or your time by echoing what others have written, but wanted to chime in with a few words.

Foremost, I am enjoying this phone. The build quality, RF quality, and sound quality are all great. And I have to admit that a few associates have expressed envy given this new toy (there is a status factor here).

However, the Phonebook and sync'ing with MS Outlook are unacceptable. In the past year I've owned phones from Siemens and Nokia; both manufactures are able to provide reasonable Phonebook implementations and offer free software for syncing.

The RAZR has an absolutely crippled Phonebook, more restrictive searching capabilities, and you have to pay extra for Mobile Phone Tools ... software that barely works.

I don't understand how Motorola can be so far behind the 8-ball on this ... and to pay extra for software that doesn't work, especially given the cost of the phone, is insulting.

This is a cool phone, and fun to show-off. But I rely heavily on sync'ing with Outlook for contact information ... and if you too rely on Outlook, you may want to think twice about shelling out $$$ on a RAZR.

If you don't need to sync contacts or don't rely heavily on a Phonebook, this phone is a 4.5 - 5.0!!

Hello Moto

Jan 3, 2005 by GeZiM

The RaZr V3 is the hottest phone in the market right now because it has the best design, reception, sound and quality.

PROS: Don't know where to start (Everyting)

CONS: No Flash & Video Recording (Who Cares?)

Even though it doesn't have flash and it doesn't record videos, I give it a 5 because I personally don't take a lot of pictures with my phone and find 20-30 second video clips useless. So its a 5 for me.

Great Phone

People complain that it does not have all the toys. It is a phone and it does its job very well. Great reception, Very stylish, Great screen and the VGA camera blows my v710 to hell. Price is a little high but for the latest greatest for now this is what you must pay. Very stable software from Moto. Mine is a unlocked version so all I can say is NO SOFTWARE ISSUES! Not sure about the Cingular version. A+++
